Long was good 4 years ago. This is purely a depth move. He isn't a starter and isn't as good as Leno. Any delusions of that are misleading. He has proven over the past few years that he isn't healthy enough to be the player he once was and we shouldn't assume he's capable. Brett Favre was once amazing, doesn't mean I want us to sign him to be a solution now. Long is a quality vet who could teach Leno but any idea where we'd be bringing him at this point to be a starter is delusional. Leno, while not great, was solid last year for what he once and the coaching staff sees upside in him. He was a better player last year than Long has been in a number of years and is much younger with potential to actually get better.

I found it interesting that the Bears coaches are less concerned about Floyd's weight, in fact, they seem to want him to play "light" and he was already light.

By the way, the guy I think is going to be our surprise guy is Hall. I think he's going to develop into a player.

McCown was actually pretty good when on the field with the Browns. This was a good move by the Bears. Really a quality backup and great guy to have in the QB room with Cut and Fales.

We were deep at guard and technically center, but I always thought Slauson, outside of Long was the best of the bunch. Have to be more behind this and it sounds like there were some injury concerns?

Bears get 2 4th's (one this year and one next year) and move down 8 spots. That is legit.

If we are going 5T, at least one of those guys will be there when the Bears pick. And Giants are only team ahead of Bears who might take a RB.

I think he's a solid pick cause he's the best player in the draft healthy. However, the Cowboys have a ton of need, but it still comes down to where guys rate on the draft board. Miami is moving up to pick a RB. Guaranteed.

Well, given I was not a big fan of Henry, I am fine that he is off the board. I think we are going to go with the Bama Dlineman or the Miss State dlineman.

You are probably right (I figure S / RB / DL are the direction we go, although I suppose they could go Hunter Henry since we clearly have a TE need...I just see the fact that his weakness is run blocking and I am a skeptic on that). I just wonder where we have him on our board. I fully expect us to grab one of the big Dlineman if they are on the board. But maybe they view the depth there as still strong later on and instead we opt for another position.
