Chopped Vets
Jason, that is 53, plus Kicker, Punter, LS, so you have to keep O and D to 50. So cut 3 and we are good.

Tough loss
Seems like a good sign. He was only on the Bears a year (w/ Pace and Co.), and if he is already being looked at to be promoted, then our staff must be doing pretty good.

Raiders 2010 Draft Scouting report
https://m.imgur.com/gallery/ivp1i I don't know how long this will stay up but it is a pretty cool look at how teams rank players. They nailed a bunch of evals but also whiffed big on a few, ie Antonio Brown and Chancellor. Not Bears related but I thought it was cool nonetheless. Bears tie in, check out eval on Claussen.

Playoff Caliber Defense?
I am pretty critical of their grading metrics, but their narrative is normally a little more accurate. I don't know if the defense is "playoff caliber" but I can definitely see a top 15 D this year. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2016/...efense-in-2016/

Probable vet cuts
Monroe is a possibility, but I don't see TB cutting any DB's, you need 3 starters nowadays.

Intersting O-Line Article Featuring Long & Massie
I assume you mean this article: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/feature/25577...he-line-of-fire Having some continuity on the line makes everyone better, so even getting a full season out of the same starting 5 would be huge.

So Much Competition
Man are we going to take the field with 6 LBs?

Bronk
Heard an interview with him on Sirius, and came away highly impressed with his knowledge of the game.

Maybe a duo of Amos and Bush can become Ambush?

Very solid game play LOT vs #6 Baylor:- Jordan Howard video
A great video of the Michigan game that Howard almost singlehandedly won for Indiana, very impressive:- So Much Competition

That along with health concerns were part of the reason (as least what is flying across Twitter).- Slauson released
To me, when they are releasing guys like Slauson (w/ some dead money), it is only part of the move, otherwise there would be no reason to do it now.- Slauson released
Per Leming, it was mainly his health:- Slauson released
I think they are doing that out of respect for the vets, giving them a chance to find new teams.- Slauson released
No way we were keeping that many interior linemen.- Slauson released
Slauson released per Instagram per Leming. https://twitter.com/AaronLemingNFL/status/726902690928840704 $2,570,000 saved, cap space now over $27mil.- Rolle released
Possibly because he didn't know Fangio's scheme well enough to mentor the younger guys. I could see a one-year deal for Whitner to do just that. Also, Whitner is 2.5 years younger, and has had much more recent success than Rolle. Not that it will happen, and I am leaning towards letting the young guys play and get playing time instead of a vet who is not in long term plans taking away reps.- Rolle released

In my projection, I had him gone. I think they wanted to give him maximum time to find a new team vs sucking the life out of him and making him a late offseason cut. I also expect a few others to go soon. Assuming cuts, Houston would save $4,020,000, Slauson $2,570,000, Young $2,500,000, and Wilson $1,671,000 are the biggest savings but Houston has the biggest dead money hit at $2,970,000, so I think he stays unless we find a trade partner. - Jonathan Bullard videos
