I'm getting ready to break down & buy a TV & I'm kind of stressed on what to buy. I've read what the experts say, but I'd appreciate anytihing you guys have to offer from a first-hand experience. I've narrowed my choices down to these 2 (both from Wal Mart. I hate Wal Mart but damn they're cheap) : 1. 47" LCD Magnavox 1080p for $1198.00 http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?...le131444-rLink1 2. 50" Plasma Phillips 720p for $1397.00 http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5633687 I'd appreciate any advice you could give me, especially when it comes to watching football. I get 16 HD channels so I'll be able to watch most Bears games…

Did anyone catch the episode the other night? I finally watched it off my TiVo... It had me cracking up when they related cheating with the Patriots and Bilicheck! Like it or not, Pats fans will have this legacy do deal with for a long long time...

I've had enough of this " sport". It's inhumane to run these horses to death for the benefit of gambling. These horses are all hopped up on drugs, horse owners are recklessly over-breeding these horses and thousands are slaughtered senseless as a byproduct of this industry. This coming from someone who used to love the track. I event spent two summers working at Arlington in high school. But even back then I saw signs that this wasn't something I wanted to be a part of. The stables are run by people who treat the immigrant workers like garbage and those people in turn take it out on the horses. On top of that they drug these horses on a regular basis-morphine, ecs…

Interesting article By Tom Van Riper, Forbes.com Aug 20, 7:55 pm EDT What do sports fans spend the most time grousing about? Above all else, it’s lousy teams or high ticket prices. Woe is the fan forced to put up with both at once. Who wants to pay premium prices to sit in the stands and watch the losses mount? Fans in Miami know about that. Over the past year, the city’s four major sports teams – the Dolphins, Marlins, Heat and Panthers – have combined to win just 40 percent of their games while fans have forked over money for tickets and accouterments at the seventh-highest rate among 29 major sports metros. Throw in a $38,632 median household incom…

Team, Just deleted a thread that appeared to be the end of a heated discussion between Bears88 and BrianBear. The thread had a tone that I felt needed to be removed from this board. My apologies if I upset anyone with this action. Peace

OK Republicans everywhere, you've had your chance. The American People gave you 8 years, 6 with complete control over our government. Where has it led us? It's one thing to honestly believe in reducing the size of government. I respect those "Jack Kemp Republicans". I really do. However, the last 8 years have proven those were just words, all along. Instead of smaller government, we got record deficits and incompetent governing. Quite literally, nothing has gone right in 8 years. Oh sure, you can feel good about your lower taxes. But the fact is every dime, and then some, was borrowed money. There will come a time when we'll need to pay the piper... wi…

Bought a HD TV little over a year ago and never got around to subscribing to HD programming and buying proper cables for it. I know, waste of time, but hey, I procratinate all the time. If I had only knew what I was missing I would have been a bit more proactive. The technician just finished the job, got Dish network HD package including NFL Network, ESPN channels, and Big 10 channels (along with many others) all in HD. Watching the replay of the Bears Cleveland game as I type. What a difference. I swear I can see every blade of grass on the field, LOL.

I'm gonna spend five days in Chicago during this and next week and need some help on what to do. Most important: I need to find myself a good sports bar for the Bears game Sunday! I'll be staying downtown close to the Millenium Park. Any recommendations? Best way to get downtown from the airport? Taxi or are there any kind of bus or train? I will be buying jerseys! Any recommendation of sports stores that are affordable or having a great selection? Or is the official store the way to go? Good bars and restaurants that are affordable! I need to try polish sausages and pizza, but where? I enjoy music a lot. Indiepop, metal, punkrock, jazz you name …

Anyone else digging the new Metallica album? This is everything St. Anger was supposed to be which failed miserably. I think of Anger as the potential good album that never was. Finally Metallica is sounding like their old selves again. Just wondered if there were any other fans on this site. I'm working on an acoustic cover/interpretation of The Day That Never Comes that I intend to record in Garage Band. Some this stuff would make nice background music for some Bears highlight footage.

I told Mad Lith some time back that I would write this so here up to this point is what I have. I have been a resident of Wasilla (the town she was Mayor of) for about 3 years now. All told I have lived up here for just over 30 years. I lived in Anchorage for awhile but when my wife and I went to buy a house things were too expensive so we looked to the "Valley" as an alternative. Wasilla is in that area and is and was growing. See my reason above for why that is. Wasilla does provide more of the large box stores and other well known commercial shopping alternatives so you don't have to drive into Anchorage as much. I might add that the drive from Wasilla to Anchor…

Okay well I have a myspace, and I'm tired of having this same Hester one up here since 2006. So, if you guys can go here, then type in any name, scroll to "request design", then request a Forte layout. Switch it up occasionally- don't type in the same manner as you usually do: sometimes use all caps, sometimes type normal, and sometimes with all lower case with a bunch of !!!!!!!!!!!'s. Thanks for your help! 1 a day if you can sneak it in would be nice.

This is since WWII. Hardly a small sample size. Take a look at the graphs and make your own call. Seems obvious to me. From http://delong.typepad.com/sdj/2008/09/notes-to-self-f.html
