With us locked into the 3rd place slot in the division, the only undecided opponent is the NFC East 3rd place finisher. Right now that is the Giants, but could be the Redskins. Either way, they are fairly the same opponent. The NFC North draws the AFC South and the NFC South in 2020. So if the season ended today, we would only have 2 games against playoff-bound teams (Saints and Texans) outside of our division. Our problem is we will more than likely have 2 teams in our division (and 4 games) against more playoff teams. However, 6 games against playoff teams is not too bad. Here is what it will look like: HOME: NFC North Saints 11-3* Buccaneers 7-7 Texa…

The 2019 draft has ended and we came away with a RB and WR that will see game time and maybe a slot corner. Next year depending on who we extend, we will need the following: SS- HaHa Clinton-Dix is on a one year deal, he will put together a great season a most likely depart. Deon Bush and DeAndre Houston Carson also will be at the end. OLB-Aaron Lynch, Isiah Irving, RRH, and will be FAs and Floyd entering his final. They need to nail that down so we have a solid backup that could elevate to a quality starter C-Cody Whitehair - though I expect him to get extended before the season, he may create a huge need if he leaves. DE-Jon Bullard and RRH are due…

There is a chance that Fields gives us the better chance to win and make the playoffs, but if those were the only two options, would you mind enduring a down year for future success?

From https://overthecap.com/compensatory-draft-picks-cancellation-chart/ it looks like we'll be earning three 6th Rd, and one 7th Rd comp picks next year. We signed KPL and Nick Williams last year as player nobody expected anything from yet both played well enough for their new deals to earn us comp picks. Chicago Bears Compensatory Free Agents Lost: 5 Compensatory Free Agents Gained: 1 Name Rd. APY Rank Name Rd. APY Rank Nick Kwiatkoski 6 $7,000,000 320 …

Everyone please reply with your top 5 needs in order. I'll compile, throw in a draft, and we can whittle down to something everyone agrees on. As in previous years, please don't post a mock in this thread. Keeping track of multiple mocks is impossible. If you don't like a draft or if you love a draft because of a specific player, just say so. Similar to before, I won't insert my wants or bias to the best of my ability. And Go!!

1st - Trade up for Trey Lance, QB, NDST - This would be a horrible move. Reeks of Trubisky. Will set the franchise back and cost too much. It would also mean a wasted first round pick on a clipboard holder, or $10M wasted on Andy Dalton. 2nd - Landon Dickerson, IOL, Bama - Normally I love OL and specifically Alabama OL, but this would piss me off because it's interior and not OT, and it's a guy with extensive injury history. 3rd - Mid-Rd Safety Reach w/ OT available - Two or three solid OTs are there, one of which probably should have been a second rounder. Pace reaches for a Obi Melifonwu-type who has the measurables but minimal statistics to back it up. …

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/01/19/salary-cap-could-be-in-the-range-of-180-million/ So it looks like the cap might be around $180M for 2021. That would be $4-5M more than the bottom, which would surely help out the Bears situation. It is crazy to think there will be teams over $30M in the hole. The Saints are $95M over the cap. Even if the cap didn't drop for 2021, they would still be $70M over the cap. Talk about some mismanagement. They may have to become serious trade partners instead of cutting and relying on dead money. Brees would cost $22M in dead money if he retires. The Eagles are $51M over, Falcons are $32M over, and the Packers and…

Here is who we will be playing: HOME: GB, DET, MIN, ARZ, SF, BAL, CIN, NYG AWAY: GB, DET, MIN, CLE, PIT, LAR, SEA, TB Since we don't beat winning teams, we are already looking at 8-8 and that is only if we sweep MIN and DET (unlikely) and beat ARZ, SF, CIN, and NYG. If we split with MIN and DET, that is 6-10. Can we even beat ARZ, SF, CIN or NYG? 6 of the 8 road games against playoff teams. Wow. ARZ will be better next year. SF will be healthy. Burrow will be back for CIN. Saquon will be back for NYG. 5-7 wins seems to be the most likely amount for next year based off the last two years of games. Ouch. What do you think?

With the Bears officially eliminated from playoff contention, the shift is fully on for 2022. With current contracts, the starting 22 looks like this: O - Fields, Monty, WR1, Mooney, WR3, Kmet, Jenkins, Whitehair, C, G, Borom Holes at WR1 (ARob), WR3 (Goodwin), C (Mustipher), and G (Daniels). D - Mack, Quinn, Goldman, Smith, Trevathan, Blackson, Johnson, Shelley/Graham, Jackson Holes at S (Gipson), CB2/3, and DL (Hicks/Nichols) I would probably create at least one more hole by cutting Goldman, but that would make the DL only have Blackson and Edwards coming back and that is probably not going to happen. Are Mustipher and Daniels "good enough…

Similar to previous years, a team could draft pretty much all Alabama players and it would be good draft. Trade Back 1.XX - Brian Branch, S 2.22 - Jaymyr Gibbs, RB 2.XX - Tyler Steen, OT 2.30 - Eli Ricks, CB 3.1 - Henry To'oTo'o, LB 4.1 - Byron Young, DL 5.1 - Emil Ekiyor Jr., G 5.XX - Cameron Latu, TE I can't say I'd be entirely upset by that. Normally, the position sequence isn't my favorite, but grabbing all Bama players would be awesome.

After the Kmet extension, $3.6M got applied to the 2023 cap, bringing the Bears cap space down to $28.4M, still the highest available cap in the NFL. The next 4 teams are the Cards with $25.9M, Jets with $23.6M, Panthers with $20.6M, and Cowboys with $19.6M. So only 2 teams over $25M and 4 over $20M left. The Bears could take on a vet for a $7.5M cap hit this year and still have the 3rd biggest cap. Poles has the Bears in a great position as they can still spend and save some to rollover for next year.

For the draftniks out there who are y'all watching on Saturdays? I'm guessing we'll land at 15 overall and could be as high as 10th. The top player I want is Jalen Carter DT but he'll be long gone before we draft. The next DT who might still be on the board is Bresee who can also play 3-tech and has the motor we want. He seems to be more 1-gap style vs. 2-gap so might still be around for us. Beyond that I'm not seeing anyone jump out at a position of need. I'm not that enamored with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, not that high anyway. Maybe Boutte but I can't watch these clips and say that's the WR I want 15th overall. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Cda_oTnIBQ …

Here's your chance to say what you would have done now that you have 20/20 hindsight. The rules are No removing the trades No extra trades Players can only be selected if they went at or after the Bears picks
