I have been waiting to hear news of what is going on with this alleged incident since the news first broke after the trade. The last I heard the police do not seem to be investigating this issue, almost as if they feel it is a false allegation. I had also heard the complainant seems to be reluctant to talk to authorities. Has this been dismissed, or is it still a time bomb ready to explode with the Commish holding the dead-man switch?

At SS if Major Wright is out. As per the SCORE. They also reported he looked pretty good in limited action Monday night. I'm happy we're playing Merriweather at SS. He had a reputation for being one helluva an athlete, but undisciplined. That's the exact same problem we had with D Manning, who finally found his niche last year with the Bears in the SS role. Conte's done one helluva a job not getting beat. If we could unleash Merriweather close to the box, that'd be huge.

Wow, first off, I love Brandon Staley. Did anyone else see the Chargers Raiders game? If they tied, both would make the playoffs due to IND's loss. Well LAC scored a last-second TD and forced overtime (they didn't go for 2). Then in OT they swapped FGs and with the game tied and the Raiders at the LAC39 with 38 seconds left (and a running clock), Staley called a timeout. It was clear to everyone in the world that the Raiders were content to run out the clock and take a tie. It would've been a 56 yard FG from there and the risk of a block or something bad happening was too high. They even said this after the game. They were actually going to take a knee! So…

Guess who is #1? Some of this is situational of course and so landing on a good team helps. Plus, in this past draft there really wasn't an elite RB talent. Braxton Jones is in year three and is regressing. We haven't been told anything about the neck injury he sustained last year, but something is clearly wrong. He is trying to catch his opponents instead of striking out at them. He is constantly too close to Caleb in the pocket. A QB can feel this. Jones is not giving Caleb any room to side step for throwing and/or running lanes. Something has to change with his approach, because he bloody awful. I'm interested to see some of Seattle's tape from last year to see if it's a Waldron, Braxton or Morgan thing. Crazy thing is Darnell Wright is doing the same thing.

I have been really impressed with this kid. For a 5th round pick, he seems like he is pretty well centered. Does this sound like a 5th round rookie:

From the Twitter Doctors, it looks like a season ending injury and potentially something that will impact next season. So the Bears will need a new LT on opening day next season. Just another need for a team with a ton of needs. Poles needs to go.

Bears sign Braxton to a 1 year deal.

Jones has a concussion issue. Kiran Amagadje is available, as is Larry Borom. First and foremost, I worry about Caleb. I want him protected. No point in getting him injured now. But I'd be lying if I said I wasnt interested to see Amagadje out there showing what he's got. Hopefully both are possible at once, and Amagadje shows us something. But if it's one or the other, of course I'd lean toward protecting Caleb. And it's not like Borom is any sure thing. If things get ridiculous, I wouldn't be averse to seeing Bagent out there if things get hairy just to make sure Caleb is OK.
