Every time we think we are going to have a good year, they disappoint us.Every time we expect so little they suprize us. Is it finally the year where we play up to our potenial from day 1. I think so. We now have a more talented Offense to live in the present of the NFL. The defense is starting to slide some, but if we can get top 16 production out of it, we maybe will be talking 11 to 12 victories. Im not drinking coolaid this morning. The STs is always one of the best, so with an upgraded offense, good things could be coming.

After watching the game on DVR, I was able to see a few things. DL - I'm not worried by talent anymore. I really like what I saw from McClellin, Wootten, Davis, Melton and Collins. Seems like we are going to have plenty of push from the interior. Peppers may feast this year. Idonije may lose his starting position to a platoon of Wootten and Mac. Damn, McClellin can close fast. OL - Spencer and E Williams were complete turds - horrible. Louis and Garza looked OK. Now the tackles. None of them looked all that good. C Williams looking the best of the 3. I'll check out the game on NFL Network tomorrow but I'm surprised nobody has any comments yet. From the highlights I've seen it appears our Oline played well, not dominant but good enough to allow the playmakers time to do their thing. The Cutler to Marshall connection is definitely alive and well.

They played on the SCORE today an interview with Tice and he talked about Carmi not being up to par yet and might have to rest him quite a bit. THAT IS NOT GOOD NEWS. With the great C. Williams as our backup OT , that is not good news.

The last two years the Thursday night NFL Network games have been broadcast locally in the Chicago area (which has extended to Peoria) Pixote asked over the summer about viewing the Thursday night games and I told him it wouldn't be a problem. Checking the local listings the game is not on . . . sorry about that Pix. Any tips for how to view the game? Otherwise I'll be in the garage with the radio checking the computer for video updates and likely chatting here. I do feel for all of you who don't live locally and deal with this problem every week.

I know this will not be well received but whatever. Before I say my piece, understand that I want more than anything for Jay to succeed. That being said, he continues to look like crap. Has Webb helped? No. Should Tice maybe call for more receivers than just Marshall to get the ball? Probably. With Jay allegedly being able to call more audibles and have more say in the offense, this is not what I was hoping to see. Jay has been mediocre at best. He's forcing it to Marshall way too much. With all of the debate on this board about Ja Marcus Webb's talent or lack thereof, Iam really puzzled why Chris Williams has been basically shown the door and not really given a solid chance to actually compete for the position he was drafted for and all signs point to Tice. With Chilo Rachal being given a shot at LG it is obvious that Williams has done something that has basically relegated him to playing his last games with the Bears.With his depature that will leave only 1 JA 1st rounder on the roster. I have been really impressed with this kid. For a 5th round pick, he seems like he is pretty well centered. Does this sound like a 5th round rookie:

That was a satisfying Packers loss (now 4-7). At home, in Prime Time, Rodgers folds like a wet noodle in the 4th. He ended up with a 5.8 Y/A and most of his throws were quick throws behind the LOS. His QBR is 40.9, which is also laughable. Him and LaFleur sure don't look like juggernauts when they don't have HoF level receivers. The Packers are basically screwed due to Rodgers. The Bears had a nice mini-bye and 1st game back, so let's see how they do after their real bye. Herbert may be back, Brisker and Gordon should be. The O-Line may be more solidified with Leatherwood at RT. This will be the first time to really put some plays in for Claypool as the WR1. The two games out of the bye will be good tests for the Bears, and we will get to see Hurts and Allen at Soldier Field. BUF is #1 in DVOA and PHI is #3. DAL is #2, so these games will probably end up like the DAL game. I don't care if they lose at this point, but it would be nice to have competitive games with at least a chance to win late. I know the O-Line has issues and Caleb is a rookie QB, but Swift has been the least effective RB in the first 3 games of a season since 2009. The Bears are lucky to be 1-2 with his ineptitude. It is historically bad. The Bears needs to stick with Roschon and Herbert as the primary backs, then sprinkle in Swift on 3rd and longs. He is literally a drive killer. If you watch the drives that died, most of the time it was a terrible run by Swift that leaves the Bears in a bad down and distance, a dropped pass, etc. He has singlehandedly killed the Bears offensive rhythm.
