Not that it's big news, but the NFL Network is reporting that Rasheed Davis has signed his one-year tender offer w/the Bears. Given the current state of our receiving corps. it couldn't hurt having him compete during camp.

Bears QB Kyle Orton spoke with the media on Wednesday, and made two things very clear — he feels fortunate his right ankle injury wasn’t more severe, and he’s not ruling himself out against the undefeated Titans on Sunday. Orton said he will not practice today as he continues rehab. Beyond that, he considers the injury day to day.

Decided to really focus on him tonight and I'm not overly impressed. Doesn't run hard all the time and seems to be coming out on 3rd down, which I don't get if he's a top pick.

If you could change one piece of the Bears, no matter what it is, and the sole purpose was to make them better, what would you change? I think I'd go with an OC. I'd like the Bears to hire a guy who is well establishe, well known for being successful, a guy who is considered a good gametime adjuster, and someone who has a track record for QB development. Is there even a guy like this?!

This is going to get rip. I say this knowing such full well. But I honestly wonder if we would not have been just as well off keeping Turner for this coming season. You hear it over and over again. Hell, Turner has preached it of late. It takes time for an offense to gell. We entered the season w/ very high expectations due to a QB unlike most of us living Bear fans can recall. It was soon obvious though how lacking our offense was. We had a pro bowl QB who struggled w/ the playcalling, decision making and showed little chemistry w/ his players. We had an OL that saw 3 out of 5 new faces, 2 of which were very green still in terms of starting. We had a WR c…

Look, I'm not just doing this because of our 2nd straight loss, but even before the year I've been thinking about it. 1. I haven't ever been too fond of Olsen. I've always thought he was soft, and we never use him hardly except for little out patterns and all that crap. We have Davis who impressed me in the preseason and I think we could use him more efficiently and effectively. Plus, his 2 fumbles week 2 didn't help put my argument to rest. I'm sure we could get a 1st round pick for this guy. 2. Mark Anderson had an unreal rookie year with like 14 sacks. Ever since, he has like 4. I'm tired of watching this guy attempt to play the run and get to the QB. He has …

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,7047151.story Bears running back Matt Forte had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee within the last two weeks, according to multiple sources. The clean-up procedure followed a post-season MRI. Forte sprained the medial collateral ligament in his knee during the Bears' 25-19 victory at Seattle in Week 3, but it is unclear if the surgery stems from that specific injury. Although Forte ran better toward the end of the season, he averaged just 3.6 yards per carry, down from his 3.9-yard average as a rookie. He finished with 929 rushing yards on 258 carries as the Bears ranked 29th in the league. Forte ran for 1,2…

  15. He's done great things for Joe Flacco and the Ravens offense has gotten better. Below is some stuff I dug up on Jackson. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hue_Jackson - Has been an offensive coordinator in the NFL (2007 with the Falcons and 2003 with Redskins) - Prior to getting that position, he was the Bengals highly regarded Wide-Receiving Coach (who helped developed Ocho Cinco, Henry, and Houshyourmama). - Before the Bengals, he worked as an Oline coach and OC with the Redskins Seems like a pretty solid hire. My only concern would be how he kept OC positions for such a short period of time, but you could also argue that he never really got a shot. …

http://bearingthenews.com/?p=1131 Daring the NFL to Disappear Here’s a heaping load of truth brought to you courtesy of Dan McNeil, writing for the Chicago Tribune: “You don’t need the NFL. You only think you do.” “I’m daring the NFL to disappear.” So am I. I’m old enough to have been around for the last NFL labor stoppage. You know what happened? I found other things to do on Sunday afternoon. So did millions of others. And that’s what will happen if NFL games are lost due to a lockout. As much as I enjoy the NFL, I’m not too worried about missing it. In fact, I’m very ambivalent and I find myself growing more so every day as I con…

  17. The Chargers are 2-5, and are in worse shape than the Bears somehow. Keenan Allen DNP on Thursday due to a hamstring injury. McManis is the only Bear listed on report. Derwin James, like Hicks is out. This is a great game to get the running game going as the Chargers are 21st against the run. All of the Chargers losses (5) have been by a TD or less. I have very little faith in this team, but based on what I have seen from the news conferences and media interviews, the team finally seems to be pissed off. Hopefully, they take it out on the Chargers this week. I am predicting a dominant performance with a defensive TD. Bears roll 27-13

  18. Bears are two-point dogs at home. The wheels have fallen off the Cowboys in their last two games and the Bills and Pats have given the Bears a blueprint for success. Dallas has 1 win against a team with more than 3 wins, the 5-7 Eagles. Trubisky is playing for his career. He will get a full week to prep for the Cowboys playing outside in the cold. The Bears need this game more than the Cowboys. Bears 20-12

With Dallas losing Sean Lee for the season I'm wondering if anyone would consider trading Briggs to Dallas? There are no rumors so this is purely my fantasy league. We are dealing with Jerry Jones who is known for his desperation moves and Briggs is a natural fit into Dallas' defense. Right now there is no way I'd do it solely because I think we can compete at a high level in the playoffs and there is too much risk in all the young players. However, if SMC and Bostic are looking good (I'll assume DJ Williams is "good") and the coaches think guys like Greene and Christian Jones will be decent backups then I'm open to it. We can't know that now, or rather the coa…
