A year ago we viewed Chris Williams as our LT of the future. He gets injured in week #2 and doesn't play again until week #6 where he emerges as the starting LG. Can anyone tell me if he was moved because he sucks at LT or because we wanted to get our top 5 o-linemen on the field, which includes Omiyale? I've read LT is his most natural position. If he can be a solid starting LT, everything on the line becomes so much easier. Kreutz & Garza can still play (although not for long) and everyone seems to love J Webb. That leaves LG as the major gaping hole. Should Pouncey be there at #29 . . . I write this with the assumption Kreutz will resign. B…

  2. This is now a must-win, mainly because the Bears have to win games they are favored to win at home. With GB playing in DEN and DET playing LAR, there is a chance that both GB and DET lose, and CHI wins, which would reset the division back to the way it was before the loss to GB, making the Week 16 rematch even that much more important. CLE's defense is no joke. They are pretty much a top 5 defense across the board. Their offense looks more explosive with Sanders at QB. This is going to be an ugly FG war. Bears 20-16.

In terms of setting the market for draft picks...well, this adds one more reason why the Bears don't want the #3 pick next year. It might well cost more than the #1 pick.

  4. i don't get it. this should be one of the most important free agents on the market for the bears since gaithers was signed by the chargers. it would make this team more than just a little better. also the center, chris myers, for the texans is out there along with wells from the packers. picking up a good stop-gap center would hold us over until we can draft his replacement and free up garza to compete for the guard position. these can't be cap breaking contracts from any of these guys so why are we dragging our feet?

I was looking over our roster thinking about our starting lineup for this season and was surprised to see we really have just two battles for starting roles in training camp. I see our starters as: (names in caps have to battle) S: Conte, Wright (settled) I think there is a lot of competition for the spots behind these guys but can't see anyone pushing for a starting job, however the depth may be decent in terms of talent (Zib, Steltz, Hardin). CB: Tillman, Jennings Hayden is first off the bench here and behind him I can't believe we're looking at Zach Bowman again. LB: Anderson, Williams, Briggs. (settled --- however, Bostic might cha…

It seems silly for this to take this long to sign a contract when the pricing is already determined, but I suspect the last year of the deal can delay the end when they may not agree on the option 5th year. Well now on to the pud Jeffery for the final piece of the puzzle to be finished. He is making almost 15 mil and that isnt good enough for a place to start, I just dont get it.

Well well well , roquin Smith practiced today and will be playing Sunday. Now the question that will never be answered, why he missed the game.

Cutler is back Sign or franchise Forte Williams and Carmi back for the OLine Oline LT- someone new= i do not like depending on Webb at LT, he shows some flashes of being good but you cant count on it week in and week out LG- Williams back= he will do, sucks having a first round LT playing LG but it is what it is, C- Garza= have not wathched alot but seemed to hold his own RG- Louis= when he plays mad he can really blow people off the ball RT- Carmi= this depends on his health, but going into his second year in the NFl he should be good Looking at this for the O i would say the biggest concerns are WR and then LT, you look at the O without Cutler …

I'll check out the game on NFL Network tomorrow but I'm surprised nobody has any comments yet. From the highlights I've seen it appears our Oline played well, not dominant but good enough to allow the playmakers time to do their thing. The Cutler to Marshall connection is definitely alive and well.

Allright MadLith (and all other non-Lovie advocates), I will concede that if Lovie and Co. cannot pull it together this year and at the very least make it to the playoffs, away he (and they) go. With the additions of Peppers, Taylor, Manumaleuena (sp?), Cutler and who else??? then there is absolutely no excuse the Bears should not be contenders for the upcoming year...or for a few afterwards. This is another fantastic day in Bears history.

mikecwright Michael C. Wright RT @AlbertBreer: Possible reunion? DE Israel Idonije will visit the Bears tomorrow. He was with Chicago for nine years (2004-12). I wouldn't mind this.

  13. Saw this on another board. This is from someone who "supposedly" has a close connection to someone within the Bears organization. Take it for what you will, but the individual indicates the Bears will announce they have hired Pace prior to interviewing Bowles.

I don't love him, but we knew the Bears were planning to take a developmental QB and he was probably the next one off the board. Good size and arm.
