I'll check out the game on NFL Network tomorrow but I'm surprised nobody has any comments yet. From the highlights I've seen it appears our Oline played well, not dominant but good enough to allow the playmakers time to do their thing. The Cutler to Marshall connection is definitely alive and well.

Bears could use this one . Would be a definate upgrade. But i still hesitate everytime I see its from PFT

There are rumors Washington may be looking to move Haskins after demoting him to third string last week. He’s on a rookie contract for one more year(?). Any thought of seeing how he might fit into the Bears offense? Would Washington be willing to do a straight up trade for Trubisky? He had a 13-1 record in college while playing for Ohio State and finished third in the Heisman voting in 2018. We played a lousy game Sunday and with NO coming up, keep in mind. NO has played 3 games at home. There only road game they had trouble beating a lousy team, TB 16-14 There strengths are our weaknesses, Graham and Sporles, but keep in mind we have Kromer on our team now. I think Kromer will give us insight that will help greatly. NO have never played well in Chicago. There are coming off a short week. This team is not going to the playoffs. They will be lucky to win 3 more games. Lovie Smith will not be fired. He has 2 years left on his contract at 5.5 million a year. They are not going to eat his contract. Knowing this, Angelo should sit down with Lovie this week and tell him if they don't win 2 of the next 3 games they should start playing some of the younger players. Gilbert, Moore, Iglesias, and Toenia all should see significant time to help them develop for next yr. Further, Gaines Adams should get reps over Ogy since he is more than likely gone. Just looked at this, and after all the wheeling and dealing, the Bears have a pretty strong amount of draft capital for next year - all their picks except their 7th, plus Carolina's 2nd, Miami's 6th, and the pick from Pittsburgh that's either a 6th or (possibly) a 4th. What's even more interesting is that the Bears have very few starters who are free agents next year - besides Keenan Allan, their only other free agent starter is Teven Jenkins, unless Coleman Shelton wins the C job or you count Khari Blasingame. Especially not when the DT talent in this draft is so good throughout the first two rounds. If that's the Bronco's offer then we'd have to go well above that to get him to sign since his preference is to stay in Denver. Elway knows keeping that defense together is the only way they'll get back. But still that's getting crazy IMO and he's probably got to pay Von Miller $17-20mil/yr.

I am wondering if the bears are thinking about this with Young and Allen at end and a Ratliff/ Houston combo at DT. You have Bass, Izzy, and those two no name guys we signed not to mention not giving up on Washington too soon. We only have 3 DTs with Rat, Collins and Pea. I heard Houston was a good dt in college. That would give us the most flexibility in the draft to trade down all though I really like Donald. Thoughts???

From the Tribune: Silver lining: Saturday's loss at least temporary pushed the 3-12 Bears up to No. 3 in the draft order for April. Because of strength-of-schedule tiebreakers, the Bears will pick behind the 49ers (2-11) and Browns (1-13). With one week left in the season, the Bears can't move any higher on the draft board. So here we are, Week 3, with one undefeated team and one winless team. Even with that, the 0-2 Falcons start as 3.5 favorites against the 2-0 Bears. Our Lads is run by former scouts and I look often at there opinions. 1. They had Fuller rated as the 5th best prospect 2. They had Ego as the 4th best DT 3. They had Sutton rated as the 5th best DT 4a They had Carey as there top rated RB 4b I could not find his name in the ratings. 6 Fales as the 13th rated QB 6 Donnerly as the top rated punter 7 Leno as the 12th best T UDA Jones as 4th best ILB UDA Lattimer as the 7th best ILB UDA Groy as 13th best G Im not saying they are smarter than anybody else but they have at least been in the War Room before.

Lots of mocks have the Bears getting Donald or Jernigan in the first. Most of us are fine with that. But what if there is another guy there in the second. Maybe Hageman or Tuitt? Would you be fine with that? I think I would simultaneously dislike it while being excited about it. It's a definite gamble, but it's one of those gambles that has a decent chance of paying off. You could place bets in multiple places, but sometimes you just have to put your money in one place and let it ride.

I was looking over our roster thinking about our starting lineup for this season and was surprised to see we really have just two battles for starting roles in training camp. I see our starters as: (names in caps have to battle) S: Conte, Wright (settled) I think there is a lot of competition for the spots behind these guys but can't see anyone pushing for a starting job, however the depth may be decent in terms of talent (Zib, Steltz, Hardin). I have always liked him. I wanted him when I saw he was available, and was thrilled to get him. I honestly never felt he got a fair shake, as I thought he earned his playing time, but was held back as he wasn't the ideal fit for Lovie's scheme. But due to injuries, he got his playing time and kept it. IMHO, he has been our most consistent DT, and maybe most consistent DL overall. He doesn't make the big plays others do, but seems to get solid push everydown, and is maybe the biggest reason our defense began to improve against the run after Dusty went down and Adams stepped in. Hey, news is hard to come by this time of year for NFL fans. I found this article on a blog of a Bears fan and found it a bit interesting. It goes over how the cover 2 defense is suppose to work.
