Madness, to me this was all setup. Gronk retires, Brady doesn't return to NE. He has the pick of the league, picks TB, then after NE signs enough players that prevents them from taking on Gronk's contract, he magically unretires which forces NE's hand to make a trade immediately (they cannot go over the cap). To me, this seems way too convenient. Also, TB magically had enough to take on his contract.

Ok, so I know this goes without saying and most teams and their fans can complain about the officials, but there is no denying the Bears are on the short end of these calls more times than not. Check out some of these calls/no-calls that have cost the Bears points.

Just rattling this off. Robinson is likely too expensive. Wims and Miller are idiots. Mooney is typecast as a #2 but is a prototypical slot. Ridley somehow has not developed. So, in theory, we need to come up with a 1 and 2 WR. How does this get accomplished?

Let's say Pace and Nagy think their best chance to remain employed is to improve defense. The weaknesses are Nichols, Urban, and Quinn, IMHO. Would something like this draft turn the tide? For how well the media liked the Bears draft, the oddsmakers do not like this team. They have the T-9th lowest win total at 7.5. With a 17 game season, that is basically the old 7-9 record for a 16 game season (so a coin toss between 8-9 or 7-10). So the Bears are going to end up with a top 10 pick? What am I missing? In terms of snap counts, they lost Trubisky, Fuller, and Leno. That is really it. No offense to Mitch, but he was a terrible QB and Foles was not much better. Dalton/Fields is at least +2-3 wins. Trubisky revenge game. Watch him go off and throw 3 TDs in the first half. That would suck lol. Just had his worst two games of his career back to back these last two weeks: He now has 10 INTs in 8 games (leads the league), and is on pace for 20+. The most he has ever thrown in a season was 12, and he had only thrown 11 in the last two years. He also has 2 fumbles lost for 12 turnovers (Tied for league lead with Lawrence). From reading some analyst's posts, it seems that teams have finally made an adjustment defensively to him and it is causing him major issues. The season is over, they would have to win 6 out of 7 to only have a slim chance at the playoffs based on wins by SF and MIN. So with that, this is what needs to happen the rest of the season or before next season. Fire Pace, fire Nagy and the entire coaching staff. You have to get the stench off this team and the only way is to clean house. Allow the new GM to come in and hire his guy. On offense, draft/sign a Center and WR, don't sign ARob, don't resign Monty. On defense, shoot Vildor to the moon, draft/sign a starting CB, Safety and ILB. Don't re-sign Nichols, only bring Hicks back on a one-year deal. One thing I haven't really seen mentioned is Tennessee cornerback Cortland Finnegan. This is a guy who has a bit of a rep as being an ass. I think his own teamates (including team leader Bulluck) has even gotten into fights w/ him. Anyway, front the get-go, Finnegan was in our players faces, pushing shoving, late hitting, etc. I saw very little from our guys. I realize the 2nd guy draws the flag, and some (maybe much) of his antics are likely intended to get into the minds of our players, but still. In 3+ seasons w/ the Bears, Bradley never had more than 18 catches in a season. I don't think he could even get active this year, and then we cut him. He picked up w/ KC, and has very quickly stepped in and stepped up. This past week, Bradley had 9 for 81 and a score. In the last three weeks, he has 18-188-2. Not bad for a guy who could not even get active for us.

It should be a signal that a lot of changes are needed. The offense needs changes. The defense needs changes. The special teams need(s) changes. Most of all, however... The coaching staff needs changes. This should be the sign to all that Lovie, Babich, and Turner need to get the axe. Babich ESPECIALLY needs to be fired. The game was a travesty, and there is no way a team that played this poorly can be the result of good coaching.

The OC is horrible. He doesn't have a clue how to call a game and take advantage of the opponent's weakness. And he sure as hell doesn't have a clue how to use his players to maximize their talents. The QB is bad. He doesn't seem to understand how to read defenses, and he can't throw the long ball. The WRs are bad. Drops and bad routes. The OL is bad. The don't open gaping holes for the running game, yet they don't pass block great either. Perplexing. The TEs and RBs are about the only thing worthwhile. Chuck it all.
