McCaskey was on radio (today I think) and indicated based upon his discussions with Pace and Fox that they are still a ways away and this will be an extended process to rebuild the franchise from where it was and was going to take multiple more years. With that in mind, I think it makes it even more likely that you can't write-off the QB position for the Bears. What got into him? He was awful in Chicago and he goes on to Tennessee and is contributing like a real WR. He ended the season last year on a hot streak of several games and is having a decent year so far this year with Kerry "Im drunked" Collins. I always hate when a player leaves the Bears and goes elsewhere and contributes more than he did in Chicago.

The Bears had great field position all game. It really shows you how bad the bottom of the roster for Detroit is. We simply dominated on returns all day long. Peace

There is an interesting article on NFL.com about Free Agency in an uncapped year and how it is not going to be lucrative for players and the new rules for FA that are involved. We've drafted a CB who is going to immediately fit right into this backfield. He might not be the most athletic (maybe more quick than fast) but listen to Bryant McFadden talk about what he brings to the table. This kid will be playing early this season. This is the kind of CB you want playing behind a good pass rush.

Jeff Dickerson, on AM1000 this morning, reported Orlando Pace was ready and wanting to play last week. The coaching staff told him that Williams will be starting the rest of the year. i don't get it. this should be one of the most important free agents on the market for the bears since gaithers was signed by the chargers. it would make this team more than just a little better. also the center, chris myers, for the texans is out there along with wells from the packers. picking up a good stop-gap center would hold us over until we can draft his replacement and free up garza to compete for the guard position. these can't be cap breaking contracts from any of these guys so why are we dragging our feet?

To quote Butthead. This sucks more than anything has ever sucked before. We had them down 24 -14 with just over 3 min left and couldn't finish the deal. We let them drive at will and put up 10 unanswered points to force over time, then we nearly gave them the win in OT if not for the grounding penalty then we pin them deep, stop them then get a stupid freakin personal foul, that gives them a fee first down then we let them drive the length of the field give them a chip shot FG to win. The Bears started -3, but the line quickly moved to -2.5. I bet there is a lot of money pouring in on the Bears and the line may even be less by gametime. I am pissed I missed -3. The Bears are road dogs against a team without their star player in McCaffrey. Mike Davis has filled in nicely and they have had a balanced attack with him as the RB. Bridgewater looks solid but they are limited to Anderson, Moore, Samuel, and Davis for all their offense. Davis has 21 receptions and 30 targets in 4 games. Before anyone gets their panties in a wad, I would point out this involves the personnal conduct policy, which the bears have come up against before, and could one day again, and thus can be argued this is Bears related. There will be those who say if Ben isn't convicted (or even charged) Goodell should not do anything, but I disagree. Especially in a criminal case like rape, it is very difficult to prove guilt. Look at past cases that hit public like this, and often the victim becomes the accuses. She is called a whore or whatever. I don't love him, but we knew the Bears were planning to take a developmental QB and he was probably the next one off the board. Good size and arm.

If that is what Wiz is looking for, than I would have to think at some point, the Bears and Wiz could work out a long-term deal. At 26, he would be a significant upgrade in the middle of our line and I am more than fine paying a C 4M per year longterm.

Man that HURT. What happened? 1. Our defense couldn't stop 3rd and longs. 2. Our OLine sucks when rushing (but are ok in pass protection). 3. We didn't use our TEs enough in the first half. 4. Not much pressure on defense, even when blitzing. 5. Special Teams coverage and the damn squib kick at the end.
