  1. Started by adam,

Defense looks bad, offense ok. The best news from today is Jacksonville is winning by 15.

I don't have a lot to do at work today, so I'm running tons of mocks. The more and more I see them, the less and less I think a quality CB will be available after the 3rd round. Since there is virtually no way we go OL in RD1, that makes me think the value of CB is in the 2nd and 3rd. Multiple QBs with promise can be had in the mid-rounds, same goes for OL, S, and WR. But I just don't see it at CB. Is there a CB you like a lot that could warrant a mid-round pick that we'd like? There's only one I like, and it's Kevin King from Washington. I'm not quite sure why he's falling. Any good value out there?

  4. Started by jason,

    1. How much faith do you put into the overall rankings of the fanspeak player lists? 2. Is there one list you prefer/trust over another? I only ask because I did one mock with the fanspeak rankings, and got some ridiculous values. I didn't even think it was worth sharing because it was so crazy. Also because the QB need has me thinking the Bears might reach, because the guys available aren't the best, and will likely have a run in the late first, early second. I could see Cleveland stealing a QB at the beginning of the second round that we'll be waiting on to drop. The most recent one I did I'm pretty happy with: 4: R1P4-DL JONATHAN ALLEN-ALABAMA (Best po…

Looks like we'll see a new KR/PR this week. Maybe we'll see him at WR on a few plays as the Bears explore options for next season at slot WR. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...5f-e22d2b573b31 Roster moves: The Bears on Tuesday promoted rookie running back Bralon Addison from the practice squad to the active roster, officially placed receiver Eddie Royal on injured reserve and waived offensive lineman Cornelius Edison. Addison entered the NFL this year with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent from Oregon. He spent the offseason with Denver before being waived prior to the start of the regular season. Here are some free agent options going into next season. Some of these guys will obviously sign with their current team or be tagged, but there are a few intriguing options out there without having to break the bank: OT Matt Kalil, MIN, 27 Riley Reiff, DET, 28 WR Kenny Britt, LA, 28, 987 yds, 5 TD Terrelle Pryor, CLE, 27, 877 yds, 4 TD Kenny Stills, MIA, 24, 650 yds, 7 TD Robert Woods, BUF, 24, 527 yds, 1 TD Kamar Aiken, BAL, 27 TE Jack Doyle, IND, 26, 649 yds, 5 TD Ryan Griffin, HOU, 26, 432 yds, 2 TD DE/DT Jabaal Sheard, NE, 27, 5 sacks Andre Branch, MIA, 27, 6 sacks Mario Addison, CAR, 29, 8 sacks Devin Taylor, DET, 27, 5 s…

I can think of only one scenario. Everson Griffen of the Queens made it as DE with the following stat line: 14G, 44 Tackles, 33 Solo, 11 Assists, 8 Sacks, 1PD, 2FF Akiem Hicks, on the other hand, has the following: 13G, 46 Tackles, 30 Solo, 16 Assists, 7 Sacks, 2PD, 2FF Almost identical stats, and Akiem has played one less game. That's cool though. I hope it pisses him off and makes him hungrier.

When this comes out it's not a good sign. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/loud-cl...ry-sours-bears/ What do we do with Fuller this offseason? We need CBs so I'm not willing to just cut him loose. He has a career and another contract to work for so I'd certainly put him in the mix next year. Between now and then I'd definitely float his name out there to other teams this offseason.

And that should be the end of his time in Chicago. http://www.windycitygridiron.com/2016/12/1...freeman-returns With Jerrell Freeman back it will be great to see how Kwiatkoski plays. After showing some promise last year Timu has been a big liability out there these last few games. Pairing Kwiatkoski with Freeman should allow to even further assess how much he's improved.

Is RB a high need? No. Do we need a complement to Howard? Maybe. Some say yes. If so, what does this complement need? I'd say some of the following: -Elusiveness -Home Run speed -Ability to catch out of the backfield Gents, I present to you, Tarik Cohen, RB, NC A&T. You may not have heard of this guy, but I'm pretty familiar with him. He's undersized, but pretty damn amazing. He'll likely run a low 4.4 forty, runs with power for his size, and makes the right decision over and over. He'd be a great complement to Howard.

I'm looking at several sites, trying to find mocks that go beyond the first round, and I'm surprised at what many say. For instance... Draftsite.com 1. Mitch Trubinsky, QB, UNC 2. Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan 3. Kendell Beckwith, ILB, LSU 4. Jake Replogle, DT, Purdue 4. Mason Cole, OG, Michigan 5. Jonah Pirsig, OT, Minnesota 7. Keith Kelsey, ILB, Louisville Two ILBs? An OG? A question mark with the 1st rounder? And a dude named Taco? That one obviously sucks. Drafttek.com 1. Jalen Tabor, CB, Florida 2. Garrett Bolles, OT, Utah 3. Davis Webb, QB, Cal 4. Eddie Jackson, S, Bama 4. Jaylen Reeves-Maybin, ILB, UT This one also…

I would love to see GB end up with 9 or 10 wins and miss the playoffs. That would be worth part of my misery for this season. Looking at the Division and Wild Card, Detroit has the toughest remaining schedule, but gets GB at home in Week 17 to more than likely decide the Division. For the Wild Card, the Giants are pretty locked in at WC1 and it looks like WC2 will come down to WAS, TB, and the 2nd best team in the North (probably the loser of Week 17 GB/DET). We still have a hand in impacting the playoffs as we play WAS and MIN to end the season. I would still gladly take 2 losses and hope JAX decides to win 1 for their new coach who play TEN and IND to close o…

With Barkley's 4th start and 5th game played, all 3 QB's for the Bears this year had a large enough sample size to give a good comparison between the group. Out of all the stats, the biggest things that jumped out to me were the sacks and INTs. Hoyer had 200 attempts without a INT and was only sacked 4 times while maintaining the highest Comp% of the group at 67%. Comparatively, Cutler was sacked 17 times and had 5 INTs in only 137 attempts. Barkley has been sacked 4 times and has thrown 7 INTs in 162 attempts. Cutler was sacked every 8 passing attempts. When looking at 3rd Downs, Hoyer was again the clear leader with a 89.9 QB Rating on 3rd Downs, Cutler has…

Why is he still on the team? Holding on the 3- yard line at the end of the game (just like he did against Indy). He needs to go. Peace

So Freeman, Trevathan, and Kwiatkowski. What can be done? Is our promising rookie going to be languishing on the bench next year? Merely rotational? I'd hate to see Kwiatkowski wasted now that he's shown so much potential. It's a situation we have not had to deal with for a while.

I hate Rodgers. If he's hobbled the Bears should blitz all game and put a target on him. The Packers' OL gets away with more holding than any other team. This is the only game I actually want to win.

  20. Started by AZ54,

We have two candidates for Rookie of the Year and there hasn't been much discussion. On offense we have Jordan Howard. Given the Cowboys record it's likely Elliot wins the award on offense but when you consider that Howard, behind the Bears Oline, is averaging 5.0 yds/att vs. Elliot at 4.9 yds/att he should be in the discussion. Add in the QB carousel the Bears have had and still Howard has been productive. In fact if he'd have played the first 4 game as Elliot did they would likely be close in total yards. These awards don't go to Oline but if they did Whitehair certainly should be in the discussion as well. On defense Leonard Floyd is in the dis…
