Last year, I screamed for two TE formations. This year, what I really want to see is a 3 TE package. Kellen Davis and Clark play TE off the OTs, while Olsen splits out. Lloyd is our lone WR, w/ Forte in the backfield. Just think about the potential w/ the formation, as well as the matchup problems it would create. (1) Our OL sucks, but we would provide the OL (whether on passing or running downs) w/ two additional/good blockers. (2) W/ Clark and Davis as the inside TEs, that likely puts Olsen on a DB, where he has size and creates a very big matchup problem. (3) Clark and Davis are both solid blockers, but also solid potential receivers. (4) Forte…

I just got off the phone with Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwan from Moving The Chains. A few callers before a guy named Super Bowl Shuffle was talking to them about the criticisms Jerry Angelo receives. They said that Jerry told them there was a situation happening he couldnt do anything about because of a lack of cash. Ha wasn't given permission to spend the cash needed to make a move he said, quoting the hosts, "made him sick in the stomach." Saying that it was something they could really have use to help the team. Not sure if this is about Cutler, Cassel, Houshmanzadeh or possibley an OL. It sounds as though he is frsutrated by it and said that his comments about Craig St…

http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post..._medium=twitter It's interesting to me that the Bears seem to be more focused on OGs in the offseason (Steinbach, Herrera) that OTs. I wonder what the Bears are really thinking for a line-up next year. Lovie recently said that he could see Chris Williams at any position on the line but center and even hinted that they thought Carimi might get a shot at LT if Webb struggled (http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2012/03/lovie_smith_casts_support_for_.html).

So who do you guys think are the winners and losers in this draft? To me, the Bears did well for themselves, but a couple of other teams did even better. Here are my picks. Best Drafts 1) Chiefs: oh man, they helped themselves a TON this year. Jon Baldwin gives them an explosive threat opposite Dwayne Bowe, and they're going to be able to throw all day in the red zone with those two plus Moeaki. Hudson was one of my favorite players in the draft: he'll be a great center. And their defense looks MILES better than last season. Houston and Tamba Hali are a scary pass-rush duo, plus Jerrell Powe and Allen Bailey add a lot of beef to their d-line rotation. 2)…

I feel pretty confident stating that today is plretty much playing out what the vast majority of us expected to happen. And it's pretty muc Turner as scapegoat, and lame duck Lovie for at least 1 more year...2 if the planets align. In the meantime, we give Jay 4 OC's in probably 5 years. 3 line coaches for Williams...etc. This just delays the inevitable. It's the hallmark of a family run business. I'm not sure Smith is kept on so much for the loot, but I think becasue old Virgiania just likes Smith as a person. Too bad she is not a football person and can't see he is not a good HC. Well, given what we're expecting to hear at the conference today, my …

The defense has played poorly but the oline has been brutal. Jay was crushed again this week and the good news is, he still is largely playing smart football, however, this was the 2nd street week Long had a brutal block that led to a quick sack and fumble. On top of the 5 sacks this week (and similar to past weeks) the penalties by our oline absolutely killed momentum and big plays. This is a totally different football game if we aren't consistently negating big plays with penalties (not to mention killing momentum). I'd argue the defense is bad (and it is...scheme could only cover up so much for the lack of talent) but man the oline is playing horrendous football (…

Of course, there's never any telling with JA and company, but as I see it, the Bears are most likely to go DT, CB, or OL. Guys who could be had here: Al Woods, DT, LSU Geno Atkins, DT, Georgia Arthur Jones, DT, Syracuse Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland Mitch Petrus, OG, Arkansas Jason Fox, OT, Miami Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, CB, Indiana (PA) Perrish Cox, CB, Oklahoma State Syd'Quan Thompson, CB, Cal Domonique Franks, CB, Oklahoma The Tribune is saying the Bears are looking most closely at CB and DL with the next pick. I'm guessing they are targeting Owusu-Ansah, and he'd be the pick if available, but we'll see in 11 hours or so...

I just read two articles (one on the Trib one Sun Times) that are basically the same talking about how pathetic our pass D is. In one quote Vasher is saying giving up inside slants all day long is the scheme and everyone in the league knows it. Other quotes have Lovie and Babich both saying we're trying everything but there's only so much you can do. Tommie Harris chimes in that the pass rush is doing their job (they aren't). Alex Brown says "we're just not getting there" and he's right. The pass defense is a mess. Either it's scheme or players, or as I see it, both. Nobody seems to want any accountability and nobody wants to admit what needs to improve, or at…

This new guy #19 should be on the field soon if the Bears are smart. We need the dep speed on both sides at WR not just Hester This would open up the middle of the field for Olsen and Clark not to say that we can throw deep to either him or Hester. http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80a40f15

Why wasn't an inside run called? Why did the Barbarian not have the presence of mind to simply fall down? That was the season. No reason to bring back Cutler now unless he can play at Green Bay but that's not going to happen. I agree with Noots, they will not win another game. Peace

1. Despite what I want, Eberflus is staying I believe. I simply don't think he has what it takes as a HC to get us to the promised land. 2. I'm fine with whatever Poles does at QB. Going JF1 or drafting a new guy. Poles has done well enough in his time here that I'm willing to let him do what he feels is best. As always, I reserve the right to disagree with it, if the moves proves incorrect. But, I'll damn well support whoever is under center next season. 3. Pardon my French, but F&*K I wanna beat GB so bad!!!! Sure, evidence points that we will lose for the 10th time in a row... But, dammit I want this! Cheers fellas!

Unless we have a few miracles take place, we are on a downward path. Here's my plan for a quick turnaround. Fire Pace and replace him with Louis Riddick. I don't of many more football people I have been more impressed with. He's smart, knowledgeable, decisive, commanding and diverse. Give him full command to hire and fire at will. My choice would be that he hire someone like Dabo Sweeney to be HC. Also, beg Bill Polian to be president of your organization for two years and give him free reign. We know this going to be a two to three year change, so let's think 2 years ahead to start. Our defense is older, but incredibly talented. We have collateral there…

Could disappoint in '09 Chicago Bears Why the pessimism? Believe it or not, the Bears had the third-worst pass defense in the league last year ... at least yardagewise (241.2 yards per game). They were fifth overall in stopping the run, which is a pretty wide gulf. Even with the arrival of Jay Cutler, I'm just not sure if the Bears offense is going to be significantly better this season since he doesn't have any reliable receivers to throw to. In other words, we could be in for more of the same. And oh, by the way ... Chicago only registered one special teams touchdown last season, which is certainly far less than we're accustomed to seeing from them. Worst-ca…

Being and LSU fan I have watched Daniels the last 2 years and he has made huge strides in his abilities. He appears to be ahead of Williams is about every stat. I never watched Williams play, so not looking at stats, why does everyone say he is so much better? Been waiting for some talk show guys to explain the difference but none have ever done it.

https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/640192571986329601 Makes sense considering we have McPhee, Allen, Houston, Acho, and potentially Bass already on the outside. With the need for another Special Teamer (due to Perry injury), I could see them going with Anderson, Timu, and Wells over Young, Foster, and Bostic.
