If he lands in the NFL, I wouldn't be surprised if it is in Tennessee with Mariota. Here is a rundown on what he did to the Eagles: Traded away: Nick Foles and LeSean McCoy Traded for Sam Bradford and Kiko Alonso Signed via Free Agency: DeMarco Murray, Byron Maxwell, Darren Sproles, and Ryan Mathews Released veterans: DeSean Jackson, Trent Cole, Cary Williams, Evan Mathis and Todd Herremans Allowed Maclin to leave via free agency http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14462075...adelphia-eagles Bears relation.......Gase may be a candidate for the job.

Interesting to note that the Bears have 9 losses, with 7 coming against playoff teams, and 6 with teams projected to have 10 or more wins. We did not lose to a single non-playoff team in regulation (losing to DET and SF in OT). 6 of our losses were within one score or less (8 pts). Of our 6 wins, only one was by more than 5 pts (scary). So just as easily as we could've been 12-3, we could've been 1-14. It is nice to know our schedule will be heavily in our favor next season: Schedule

Forte now has over 8,000 rushing yards and 11,931 yards from scrimmage. The 8,071 rushing yards puts him in 48th all-time only 3 yards behind Freeman McNeil and 10 yards behind Larry Csonka. In the next few games he should also pass the likes of Maurice Jones-Drew, Priest Holmes, Gerald Riggs, Roger Craig, Herschel Walker, and Earnest Byner (some pretty good company already). Additionally, he is now in 59th for yards from scrimmage with 11,931 and nearing 12k. In this game he passed Don Maynard and Michael Irvin and is now only 10 yards behind Clinton Portis for 58th. Cutler is now 41st all-time in completions, passing Y.A. Tittle, Randall Cunningham, and Sonny Ju…

With the announcement of his 6th missed game, it is hard for me to see the Bears paying him Top 5 WR money or even franchising him for $12mil. The franchise number is skewed because of Megatron's ridiculous deal which looks even worse today (2016 cap hit $24mil). I think I would be ok with something under $10mil for a couple of years, but even $10mil a year would put him 11th overall. Is he worth it, especially considering the injury history? If we did go in another direction, these are the best available WR's under 30 this season: Unrestricted Free Agents: Travis Benjamin, 25, CLE, 61-893-5 Marvin Jones, 25, CIN, 57-745-4 Rueben Randle, 24, NYG, 51-638-6 …

For the first time in a long time, the NFC North gets a decent break, playing two of the weaker divisions in the league. We draw the AFC South and NFC East, which are the two divisions with a potential 8-8 Division Winner. With this info, we need to be all in for next year, as I don't know when we will get this type of opportunity again. It also figures that we could have up to 3 NFC North teams in the playoffs next year. Here is what the schedule looks like today: Home: Detroit 7-9 Green Bay 10-4 Minnesota 9-5 Philadelphia 7-9 Washington 9-7 Jacksonville 5-11 Tennessee 3-13 San Francisco 5-11 Away Detroit 7-9 Green Bay 10-5 Minne…

I looked at our stats from last year (brutal) and compared to what we have so far this year. The offense, overall has improved in most areas and only regressed slightly in Passing Yards per game (by 3), Rushing YPC, by 0.09, and Comp% by about 3% (not as many Forte dink and dunks). On the positive side, we cut down on turnovers by almost 0.5 per game (INTs cut in half), and our run game produced 22 more yards per game which increased TOP by over a minute. --------------- 2014 / 2015 Points/Game - 19.9 / 20.6 + Yards/Game - 327.1 / 346.1 + Passer Rating - 89.03 / 89.49 + Completion % - 65.57% / 62.79% - Passing Yds/G - 237.0 / 234.0 - Neg Pass Plays% - 8…

With Von Miller likely getting the franchise tag (and they have to deal with Osweiller or finding another QB), Broncos have some other critical free agents. That includes Brandon Marshall, but they have two quality, young, DE's who will also be hitting the market. Fox has familiarity with both and the Broncos are likely going to have trouble getting it all to work under the cap. Malik Jackson, DE, Denver Broncos: He turns 26 in January and is another 3-4 defensive end who is adept at putting heat on quarterbacks while capably handling the run. He is getting better and is playing some of the best football of his career the past three games. Derek Wolfe, DE, Den…

In one of the other threads I mentioned something similar to the old-school Washington+Traylor combo. The reason that worked so well is that they basically set up a wall and said, "You either have to run around wide, or pass." It was pretty effective in that regard. What if the Bears did something similar in the near future? The way I see it, you need 2-3 components with this idea: 1) The stout DL, obviously 2) Athletic LBs, to chase outside, cover gaps, and go into pass coverage 3) A decent secondary So here is my challenge: Choose a combination of 3-4 ILB, and/or 3-4 OLB, and/or 3-4 DE that realistically could fall into the Bears draft position. …

The Bears are doing exactly as they should and are starting to bring up some practice squad players to get a look at them. Timu moves up to the active roster to see if he can redeem himself from earlier mistakes. ILB is a definite need heading into the offseason and I like this move. We might even see Timu on defense sometime in the last couple games. I assume they'd give him at least a full two weeks of practice before putting him in that spotlight. Despite our depleted Dline Hood didn't show enough to justify keeping him around. We have had surprisingly productive play from Unrein and Gaston. They've done enough as part of the rotation that Dline has not b…

The defense has played poorly but the oline has been brutal. Jay was crushed again this week and the good news is, he still is largely playing smart football, however, this was the 2nd street week Long had a brutal block that led to a quick sack and fumble. On top of the 5 sacks this week (and similar to past weeks) the penalties by our oline absolutely killed momentum and big plays. This is a totally different football game if we aren't consistently negating big plays with penalties (not to mention killing momentum). I'd argue the defense is bad (and it is...scheme could only cover up so much for the lack of talent) but man the oline is playing horrendous football (…

When I left training camp this summer I was preaching gloom and doom! The team started to win some unexpected games and I got false hope because what I forgot to remember was that depth after starters was going to be a problem. Jeremey Langford also made me forget because he looks like the future at RB. The problem is that when we as fans need to have the Bears website open to the roster to figure out who is on the field at the beginning of games points back to my original thoughts back in the summer. I personally hope that they shut down everyone that has had nagging injuries and truly find out who needs to be here going forward! With all the 1 year contracts this could…

  18. Bears could look west for first pick Todd McShay has Chicago drafting Oregon defensive end DeForest Buckner with the 12th overall pick. Buckner is a good athlete for his size and is a handful for offensive linemen when he plays with leverage. McShay: First 2016 mock draft (Insider) share© Don't know much about him. I think they should look inside linebacker myself.

Crazy what two weeks can do. After the GB game, this was a potential flex game that was going to move into primetime with potential playoffs implications (assuming we came in at 7-6 and MIN at 8-5). Well MIN is 8-5....... It is amazing that we could've been one game up on every other potential playoff team other than MIN and SEA (non-Division leaders) coming into this game at 7-6. Now we are 5-8 and playing for draft position. With very little to play for, it is hard for me to see a close game. MIN 27 - CHI 13

From NFL.com: I would be interested in the guys I bolded (assuming some of the other top guys are franchised). Obviously can't all of them, but one or two (besides Alshon) would be awesome.
