If he drops, Jalen Carter is the prize as a 3 T. Other options: Lucas Van Ness Calijah Kancey Bryan Bresee. Watch a lot of tape , he consistently gets in the backfield A Adebawore Keion White Tuli Tuipulotu Keeanu Benson. Not perfect but would give you more than Justin Jones Zach Harrison has the size and speed to do it, not the fit Zach Pickens more of a rotational guy but could fill in Isaiah McGuire. More of a rotational guy not idea Byron Young/Ala. Could be a sleeper Moro Ojomo could be a sleeper

Jimbo Covert was the last OT the Bears drafted in the top 10 but, we have endured Cedric Benson , Kevin White, Mitch Trubisky, Leonard Floyd and Roquan Smith. As a Bears' fan I agree with Jason , this bothers me

Gene Chamberlain put together a really good summary of our roster depth. This is not a by-position analysis, he focus on the bottom third of the roster where you get your special teams players. This is one aspect of what Poles did this offseason that is easily overlooked but I think this might become a strength of this team. https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/news/supporting-bears-cast-looking-stronger

Here are the best seasons for the top 4 receiving options for Fields: 87-1175, 4 81-1055, 4 62-873, 9 50-544, 7 That is 280-3647 yds, 24 TDs combined for just Moore, Mooney, Claypool, and Kmet. Take 10% off that for shared targets and you still have 252-3283, 21 TDs to just the top 4 players. No RBs, no WR4-5, and no TE2-3. Last year, with the worst passing offense in the league, Monty had 34-316, 1 TD, ESB/Pringle/Pettis/Jones combined for 57-810, 7 TD 91-1126, 8 TD and Herbert as RB2 had 9-57, and 1 TD, so the remainder of the receivers totaled 100-1183, 9 TD, if you take 10% off for shared targets, that is 90-1065, 8 TD. So in theory, i…

  6. Started by adam,

So while looking up some Jordan Love stats, I realized something about the GB defense and how their performance has correlated more to their wins and losses than anything Jordan Love does. Love has improved as the season has gone on and is now 14th in QBR, slightly higher than Minshew, Geno Smith, and Dobbs. That seems to be about right for him. Now looking at their defense, is has allowed 27 or more points in only one game this season (34 in a loss to DET). I was shocked to see that. Did anyone else know that their defense has been THAT good? The Bears defense have done that 6 times (all losses). The Packers are 0-4 when their defense allows 23 or more (Bears are …

This guy has quietly put together his best season as a pro. 70 receptions, 678 yards, and 6 TDs. Receptions and yards are already a career high with 2 games left. Yesterday was his first career 100-yard game and he did it only playing the first half. Right now he is 7th amongst TEs in receptions, and 28th in the NFL overall. For yards, he is 8th amongst TEs. So he clearly is a top 10 TE, and it feels like he still has some room to grow as a receiver.

On looking at our current roster, who are the blue chip players? Here's my list.... Wright, Jenkins, Kmet, Moore, Allen, Williams, Sweat, Dexter, Stevenson, Johnson, Gordon and Brisker. I'm counting twelve. Polian says 14. We are getting close. If we hit at nine, it's 13 possibly. Maybe 14 will develop under the radar. IMO, 13 is a shock. Very cool future for our team...

  10. NFC North Skill Groups (1QB, 2RB, 2TE, 3WR): CHI - Williams / Swift, Herbert / Kmet, Everett / Moore, Allen, Odunze DET - Goff / Gibbs, Montgomery / LaPorta, Wright / St. Brown, Williams, Raymond MIN - McCarthy / Jones, Chandler / Hockenson, Oliver / Jefferson, Addison, Powell GB - Love / Jacobs, Lloyd / Musgrave, Kraft / Watson, Dobbs, Reed - Rookies in Red - Meh players in Blue The Bears have the best WR Corps, Everett is the best TE2 of the bunch, making the TE Room competitive with DET and MIN. DET has the best RB Room but CHI and GB are close behind. Adding Odunze really puts the Bears offense over the top. Roschon would be ahead of Chandler on…

  11. Gerald Goff just got a 212 mil contract extension. 170 mil guaranteed, 73 mil signing bonus. Now he has played well the last two years and is the second highest paid QB but I would rank him 10-12 as far as best QBs. QB salaries are crazy.

  12. Started by BearFan PHX,

I think I have been the most vocal critic of Matt Eberflus on this board? Probably so. And I have some observations to make about the last month or two. My two main criticisms of him have been that he has made stupid strategic game decisions, and that he seemed to lack an alpha leadership quality, at least where I was able to see him on TV, in interviews etc. I can't say much about the first one, since we aren't playing games, but I'm hopeful that any of that gets put in check by more assertive coordinators keeping him from going too safe. A better roster should also make him more comfortable to take risks. And perhaps coordinators will dial him back from g…

This one surprises me because I thought he was a lock. I guess with the Borom injury they need someone who can play OT as well, that seems to be Bill Murray.

We drive down the field with no effective running game and Caleb doing great. Get to the red zone and run twice and then try a slow developing pass for a sack. Not ok.

  16. Started by adam,

The Bears have 4 more games before their Week 7 early season bye. 3 home games and the only road game is 3 hours away in Indy. There may not be an easier stretch of games all year. The combined record of the 4 teams is 0-8. @ IND 0-2 (Richardson is boom or bust, plays into Bears strengths on defense, weakest defense faced so far potentially missing Buckner) vs LAR 0-2 (decimated with injuries, no Kupp or Puka, -37 Pts Diff) vs CAR 0-2 (just benched Young, have been outscored by 60 pts in 2 games) vs JAX 0-2 (might be 0-5 or 1-4 by the time the Bears play them with HOU, BUF, and IND up next) The Bears really need to go into their bye 5-1, at worst 4-2.

One target in last two games (it was a catch by the way). That is absolute insanity. Waldron and offensive coaching staff is really irking me. Just like start of season where they went completely away from him…we come off the bye and the guy who catches everything thrown at him literally has 1 target in 2 games. Insane.

Garrett wants traded. Who would blame him? He's 29 coming off a 14 sack season. Do we trade the #10 and a future pick? And go!
