This was one of the most informative and engaging interviews I have ever heard. He described Pace as a cutting edge GM and that he had been after him for two years . He said he told Loomis that if this guy wants to be a GM he needs to interview now. He also talked about how the impromptu interview went down with Todd Bowles and said after that Pace lead the interviews for all the rest of the candidates and that he took the background when Fox became available. He really feels strongly about Adam Gase as a HC candidate from his interview with him and he talked about how Fangio had made Eli Manning look out of sorts when his defense had an attack plan against him.

http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/football...tory?id=4856465 First Team Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers (Average Draft Position: 35.5): He may have been the fourth quarterback taken in most leagues, but he certainly proved to be the most valuable. The only blemish on his 2009 slate was a Week 14 "clunker" against the Chicago Bears when he totaled just seven fantasy points. Rodgers had 10 weeks with multiple passing touchdowns, helping him to finish head and shoulders ahead of his peers, finishing with 47 more fantasy points than the next-best signal-caller. Running Back Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans (ADP: …

http://sports-ak.espn.go.com/nfl/index Mort, jaws , Kiper and tirico talking about Bears. I think Mort is talking out of A$$. Keep Berrian? for that money? He talks about it as though the only decisions on players are whether you have depth there. I think he just didn't do his homework. And as far as spending cash, look you we have coming up in contract talks-Harris, Hester and who we have signed in the last year- Vasher, Tillman and Briggs. Starters anywhere.

At this time of year it's always fun to read positive remarks from the media. One can only hope they are right, this time. LOL A nice article about 2 of our 6th round picks, RB Herbert & CB Graham.

I should specify that. Watching NFL Today, or whatever the ESPN show, Dilfer and Shlerif (however you spell it) just blasted the bears. Basically said the bears have too many holes to give up so much. What cracked me up was, Dilfer said Detroit was the biggest loser, saying they should have made the trade. Like Detroit doesn't have holes? Seems a bit of a contradiction. Seriously, though, what irrated me as much as anything was the way they talked about it. - Pointed out the Bears lost both starting OTs. Failed to mention (a) those two OTs sucked ( we have a 1st round pick coming off a red shirt season © added two other veterans in Omiyale and Shaffe…

I don't think we'll target Faneca. It's tough to justify paying him that much more then we'll pay Olin Kreutz. If we go for a quality starter at a normal price, I think we'll look to sign either Rex Hadnot of Miami, Jake Scott of Indianapolis, Jacob Bell of Tennessee, Justin Smiley of San Francisco, Floyd Womack of Seattle, Jamar Nesbit of New Orleans, or Damien Woody of Detroit. Free-agent C, OG and OT classes are deep in '08 By Scouts Inc. (Archive) Updated: February 20, 2008 Comment Email Print The free-agent market opens Feb. 29. Scouts Inc. will give an overview of the upcoming class, position by position. This year's free-agent …

Angelo stated that he wanted to make sure he had cap room available, not just to sign his own guys, but to try and sign free agents also. Depending on what happens with Berrian, the most likely positions Angelo will target IMO are RB & OG. I know there's speculation we'll draft a running back, but we've done so early two of the last 3 years and have little to show for it. I've posted ESPN Insider's running-back story below. I think we'll target Julius Jones. He won't cost nearly what Michael Turner will cost, and most of the other guys aren't much of an upgrade over Adrian Peterson. Turner and Kreider highlight free-agent RB/FB classes Runni…

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/page/32for3...ob-security-nfl Interesting Facts from this article: The Bengals have been to the Playoffs 7 out of the last 13 years including 5 straight years. Looking at the NFC North, the Packers have made the playoffs 7 straight seasons while the Bears have done so only 4 times in the last 20 years! I like the Bears current coaching and GM situation as well as the direction they are taking this team. Cincy and Green Bay have maintained consistency with at HC and GM and hopefully the Bears can finally do the same and are able to keep this group together for 3-5 years so that we can get some cohesion and develop a winning cul…

Bears came in at 11: The additions of Reiff and Schofield helped out a lot. The line could be even better if Jones or Jenkins beat out Borom. Then the 2 that don't win the starting job become super subs with Mustipher as depth. That is a very solid O-Line and a lot better than last year.

-Said he would do some things differently in Denver, like talking to Bowlen more in depth. Said he thinks Denver would also do a lot differently. -Said he knows there's going to be pressure. -Said he's happy for Eli on his new payday and gave a "I'm going to get mine too" laugh. There might be a longer version on the night edition of SC but I'm not sure.

I've neve put to much faith in these things, but damn they seemed to hit the nail on the head. Particularly when they say, "Has had some off-the-field issues. Does he love playing the game of football? Will he work hard enough at it in the NFL?" and also, "there are some lingering concerns about his character, attitude and speed that make him a potential disappointment at the next level." Wow. I hope Angelo starts reading these things. Here's the full pre-draft evaluation from espn.com: Strengths: Is at his best running between the tackles. Has decent quickness and good initial burst. Has patience and vision. Hits the hole hard when he sees it open up. Will …

Way back in the offseason someone posted this link where they analyze every play of every game and give a rating for each player. http://www.profootballfocus.com/by_positio...&numgames=1 I took at look at our WR ratings and was surprised to see DA ranked first when select "all" for snaps. DA doesn't have enough time on the field for me to trust any rankings, however, what was more interesting is that Hester is rated as our worst WR. When you consider the whole of the season (leave out DA and Davis) this shows Bennett as being our best WR. Couple things jump out in his stat line: He is our best YAC receiver, 6.7 vs 5.0 for Hester and just…

Same site; this time just select By Team http://www.profootballfocus.com/cstats.php...e=a&stats=o Kreutz is rated far and away as our best Oline. Garza is right behind him. Chris Williams and Orlando Pace are rated so poorly on pass protection it's embarrassing. Pace run blocking rating at -9.0 has to make you wonder why the staff didn't make a move to Shaffer sooner and move Williams back to his more natural left side. Then again, this is Lovie we're talking about so no need to wonder. If you look at OT performance overall Pace ranks and 74th out of 76. Ouch. (Minn OTs aren't rated that highly either, Arizona's are way down there too) It's …
