I thought he'd be in the mix for running backs the Bears hope to bring in for competition (Translation: To replace the overpaid asswhipe who started the season for us this year) Although I'm surprised he signed this early and for this cheap. It gives me hope that a guy like Julius Jones will be "inexpensive." Here's the story from PFT.: "After generating only 1,016 yards in four full seasons with the Raiders, running back Justin Fargas busted out in 2007, nearly equaling that totaling 14 games, with seven starts. For that, Fargas has been rewarded with a new contract. According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, it's a three-year, $12 million deal with $…

The league announced the cap will be $224.8M for 2023. With that info and the known carryovers and other related charges, OTC has the Bears at $90.8M in cap space and $82M in effective cap. Using effective cap, which is more realistic, the Bears could sign 3x players with a $10M cap hit for 2023 and STILL have the highest available cap space. Truly insane. 17 teams are over the cap (effective cap) and another 6 are under $10M. The Saints and Bucs are going to have to cut some big name players as they are $58M and $62M over. There is no way you can manipulate the cap that much. Some teams are actually quite comical. Packers are $20M over and saddled with Rodgers…

I wished we had a different coach, but Lovie is right. Thru 1/4 of the season we are 3-1 and that's great. If we beat Carolina (I believe a 50/50 chance) we will have the best record in the NFC or tied and if KC looses at Colts and we win, we will have the best record in the nfl or tied. so lets forget about the last loss and look foward to Carolina. I believe our defense is playing pretty good, especially in the red zone. When we are on defense I like 3rd and short more than 3rd and long for some reason. I do not like Cutler as much as others but i root for him. When things go wrong he puts his head down like it's never his fault(I'm talking about his year and a quarter …

1. The Bears D has looked good for the most part except on passing downs, Thier not getting to the QB is really killing the game. 2. Grossman is not the QB and today proves it. It almost looks like thier is no game plan. His inability to adjust is proven once again and not adjusting the plays like Orton does has hand cuffed this team. I dont see us going any further in this game. Now pass rush like a mo fo and maybe we can get back into it.

On ESPN1000, JD just reported that we really want Derrick Williams out of Penn State at 49. Yuck. Give me MoMass over Williams.

Looking at this revised big board by Matt Miller I would gladly trade back both of our 2nd Rd picks or one to get 4 picks in top 100. I could be very happy with various combinations of players available between 50 and 100. Say Cleveland wants to get another early 2nd Rd pick at 43 (470pts) and gives us both of their 3rd Rd picks (220/140pts) plus their 4th Rd pick (70pts). We then have 50, 74, 90, and 112 plus our own 4th Rd pick at 144. Then HOU trades with us for 50 giving us 58 and 101. It's a bit in our favor but if they don't give 101 they could give 108. Now we have 58, 74, 90, 101, 112, 144 and further down we still have 163, 196, 200, 233. Fr…

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/...d-willie-young/ Bears extend Willie Young Posted by Michael David Smith on July 30, 2016, 9:11 AM EDT Miami Dolphins v Chicago Bears Getty Images Bears pass rusher Willie Young will be sticking in Chicago for a few more years. Young and the Bears have agreed to a two-year extension through 2018, Adam Caplan of ESPN reports. Young had been entering the final season of the three-year contract he signed in 2014. The 30-year-old Young says he hopes to retire as a Bear. Last year Young led the Bears with 12 tackles for loss and was second on the Bears with 6.5 sacks. He also intercepted a pass and returned it…

Clips of Glennon's turnovers are showing up and after watching things he was even worse than I first thought. First thought was that he's terrible. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2017/9/19...nfl-week-2-2017 https://duckduckgo.com/?q=glennon+sack+fumb...iai=DgX8pE9pzKM I've seen blame on the Oline for the sack fumble but in reality he has a hot read in Wright wide open. When they bring 6 you should throw into the coverage gap behind the blitz. People talked about Massie giving up edge pressure but Noah Spence ran 10 yards upfield to get around Massie. On the INT when throwing to Bellamy after the game Glennon said Bellamy had turned his …

Points of View, May 11, 2008 http://chicagobearsfanforum.com/blog/?p=241 The Bears * Jerry Angelo finally commented upon the Cedric Benson arrest yesterday. “The thing that I am most disappointed in is the fact that he put himself in a position to be the victim.'' I couldn't agree more. Benson stated that he felt that he'd been targeted and his friend said that he'd been boarded at least six times. In addition, no one denies that he'd been drinking. As a pro athlete you do have a responsibility not to put yourself in that position and he, by his own admission, certainly did. I might also mention that I think Angelo's comments were more …

Individual Notes (in no real order) IN THE GOOD 1. Orton - seems to know he "won" the "job" 2. Forte - i know its preseason, but i think he may be the new Neal Anderson (means alot coming from me, fav bear of all time) 3. Llyod - actually liking this guy. I think now since he plays WITH Mike Brown he wont be such a pussy anymore 4. Bennett - great runback, dont know how good of a reciever cuz our offense bites, but i like his play 5. Urlacher - still looks as psycotic as always 6. Harrison - really plowing people and closing lanes 7. J. Williams - definately the 4th LB. good interception (notice what happens when u blitz) 8. Idoneji - really cloggi…

It is obvious that the SF roster has more talent than ours does. We won today because the coaching ghost of Tony Dungy is haunting Halas Hall. Eburflus is an even better Lovie Smith. SF beat themselves with penalties, while we played clean. We worked for turnovers. We stayed with the running game LONG past the time when Nagy would have panicked, and many coaches would have gone into desperation mode. We kept our coverage rule breaking route combinations up our sleeve until the 4th quarter, kept it close and then played the cards Nagy would have tried in the first quarter. Had they worked ion the first, youd have woken up the SF offense, and wouldnt have those plays n…

Wow, what a game. The script writers were on point with this one. Make it look desperate, then hit the climax and then the cliffhanger at the end. So much to unpack (no pun intended).
