This week is a short one with the Bears playing Sat afternoon. Here's the Tue practice injury report. We may be getting some players back with Goldman, McPhee, and Amos starting to practice in a limited manner. On the flipside we added Shaheen and Kendall Wright but neither appears to be serious. I love the fact that the original Joniak calls are in there. I swear, with a little offensive help last year, the Bears would have had a winning record. Even with all the injuries, they still would have been in contention. There is only the Dallas game out of all the losses that I felt the Bears were not in it. Every other game could have been the Bears' game with a little luck and a better offense.

As an undrafted free agent, Jones finished third on the team with 68 tackles. He also had 2 sacks. I believe he has earned a starting position next year. Thoughts? Peace

Green Bay announced Dom Capers as their new DC. So, it looks like they will be switching to a 3-4 D. Most likely not right away, but they will probably work in the 3-4 as Dom Capers is a 3-4 guy. They will be only the 4th NFC team to run some form of the 3-4. This scares me because I still don't trust Turner, and not sure if he can make adjustments in his schemes to face the 3-4. However, he'll have to as we are going to be facing 7 teams that will be running some form of the 3-4 next year, after not having to facing a single 3-4 team, let alone 3-4 front last year, and only 2 in 2007. When Emery came on board, and then when Lovie was fired, we saw some of our best talents leave the organization. Ballard was promoted then decided to leave a year later because he reportedly wanted to work with someone else. Marinelli was offered the DC job and after a week or so he chose to leave town for a lesser job with the Cowboys. Toub had our special teams at the top of the league year after year and when Lovie was gone he was offered a job to stick around. After a week or so he left town to take the same job in another city. Since this was the position he started out with at Texas he could be a good FB with this run first team because of his size at 6'3 260 and how fast he is. As you saw he can run back kick offs too, LOL so we know he can catch also.

I can think of only one scenario. Everson Griffen of the Queens made it as DE with the following stat line: 14G, 44 Tackles, 33 Solo, 11 Assists, 8 Sacks, 1PD, 2FF Akiem Hicks, on the other hand, has the following: 13G, 46 Tackles, 30 Solo, 16 Assists, 7 Sacks, 2PD, 2FF Almost identical stats, and Akiem has played one less game. That's cool though. I hope it pisses him off and makes him hungrier.

Most people are indicating we need to strengthen at tackle but we seem to have too much potentially inside at guard and centre and I wondered with the new oline coach who seems to be well respected could this be our depth chart for the oline in 2017. He is a great tackler but doesn't make impact plays. He has 5.5 sacks and 6 ints in 5 yrs. Url has 37.5 sacks and 15 ints in 8 yrs. He has overvalued himself and may be waiting by the phone for a while. Just watching the NFL network and the analysts agreed his best move would be to stay with the Bears. Peace

Of course there have been no links to the team, but I'm thinking what about Dan Reeves. This is the kind of guy I would like to see get hired for the offense. IMO, who ever gets hired as the OC is the coach of the offense. This guy has been there and done that. Last year he interviewed for the San Fran OC, so apparently he wants back in the business if he was willing to interview for that position. I think a true coach like him would be amazing for the young talent on offense.
