Ok, so I hate to say it (no I love it) but I saw a LOT of defenders out of their gaps and we got slashed in the run game in the first quarter. Now it's WAY early, and I have faith that they will fix some of these things, but I saw exactly what I predicted. A new staff, some new players on the feld, and people were out of their gaps. When you play a one gap system, you need 8 guys filling gaps or you get 8 yard runs, and we sure saw a bunch of those. This happened Lovie's first year too. Something to watch for. Also Webb sucks.

The Bears game is on TV here this week. I got a nice HD and free OTA HD broadcast, plus a basement full of homemade beer. You know JA made the QB comment. Now, he is clarifying with support of Orton. That leads me to the mind game. Since we already know the Queens are going hell bent for a QB this off-season. Is JA setting up a bidding war so the Queens will run out and overspend for a QB? Kinda like a bluff in poker... Even though the Queens get their guy, they also get a strained cap for other needs. A story from Justin Fields rookie year came out over the weekend. Andy Dalton was working the white board, trying to help Justin with the offense and looked up and Justin was fixated on his phone. We have an OL with 3 new starters that need time to gel as a unit and will get better as the season progresses. As they become a "unit" our running game and pass protection will only improve. They faced 2 3-4 defenses in weeks one & two and now have that experience under their belt as well. We have a very young and inexperienced WR group that is getting better and better as they learn on the run. Knox & Bennett has exceeded my early expectations and look like the real deal. I don't know what the hell he is looking at on film, but there is no way only two or three of the picks are not Cutler's fault. I can think of two falling WRs, two wrong routes by WRs, one DPI not called, and the play where Hester ran into the Ump just off the top of my head.
