The for and against Fields conversation will go on until the draft but several things come into play. 1st we have to have the number 1 pick.. I think its Caleb Williams or Justin Fields. If Poles thinks Williams is the guy, he will take him. If we end up with the second or third pick that is out of the picture. Maye does not carry the clout that Williams does. Truth be told, both have been questioned about being great as we get closer to the draft. The third pick is probably the best player in the draft MHJ, if he is there, he will take him. So now the conversation, is there a QB prospect that has more upside than the upside of Fields? The draft will bring more …

Based on the lack of a 4th rounder (used for Booker), the Bears have to nail their first 4 picks with 75+ picks between picks after pick #72. #10 #39 (CAR) #41 #72 -Following Picks will change, but currently: #147 #197 (PIT) #218 or #246 (CLE) #233 (CIN) Depending on the board, they may want to move back with one of their 2nds or the 3rd to pickup another pick. Examples: Moving from#41 to #48 would net a mid-4th Moving from #41 to #55 would net a late 3rd. Moving from #73 to #85 would net a mid-4th.

Plenty of attractive pieces on market for Chicago Bears Bears will find good options if they're willing to invest cash By David Haugh | Tribune reporter February 1, 2009 TAMPA - Monday officially begins the off-season. Even if free agency doesn't begin for another 25 days, Bears fans will bandy about many names over the next month that may or may not make sense for a team buoyed by watching a fellow 9-7 team play in the Super Bowl. Quarterbacks Chris Simms. Veteran leaving the Titans makes sense as Jerry Angelo seeks competition for Kyle Orton. If the choice ends up being Simms, whom the Bears have liked since the 2003 draft, it's a competition Or…

Hanie, Jennings, Webb and JA. I cannot believe how pathetic this team looked in the second half. They packed it up and are ready for the off season. Hanie and Jennings should not play another down. Peace

I have seen plenty of articles of posts ripping Cutler to shreds, and while I am NOT saying he didn't have a bad game, I also thought the receivers really made him look bad. Yea, there were numerous picks, and even more that could have been, but how often was it due to Cutler and how often due to the receiver. Some examples off the top of my head. Early on, there was a play which looked like an out route to Bennett, who rup upfield, began to cut, but then just stopped and turned around. I think that is called a button hook, right? Anyway, Cutler threw the ball as if Bennett would be running an out, and it basically went into (and out of) the hands of a DB as …

  14. Now i want to say this is it me saying this or can our running game improve. I have looked at game and have seen that our line has made a few holes that our main workhouse does not see. Forte is not hitting the right OPEN hole at times and does not even try to get outside on plays. Now granted he is getting stuffed in the backfield alot but some plays he just goes this way or that and miss open lanes that can gain 5-10 yards or runs right into the back of our blockers without making cuts at all.

First and foremost, he does not believe in the "home town discount." That's not terrible, but it means he's going to be looking for a huge contract. Is he worth it? The Seahawks have the best secondary in the NFL, and it's probably not even close. Richard Sherman is arguably the best lockdown CB in the league, and their pair of safeties (Chancellor and Thomas) are both among the best in the league. It just makes me wonder whether his results should be better? This article makes a good case for him and supports it with some stats that scs will break out the Jergens for, but for the talent on that defense, I wonder if he's as good as the money he'll be expec…

The NFL has changed in recent years since the "gotta make a football move" rule after a catch. I'm not sure if that verbage of the rule still exists, but I nevertheless haven't been a fan of whatever form of this rule we've had in recent years. I've never liked the rule because I see it time and again taking away legit forced fumbles because the player only took a step and a half after the catch or some nonesense...whatever, apparently not enough to clearly show maintained possesion in today's NFL. I have, however, understood that the rule was at least intended to eliminate cheap fumbles that come only an instant after the receiver controls the ball, so implemented …

I keep seeing mocks and discussion that list OJ Howard as a possible pick. I just can't see it. In fact, it borderline pisses me off. As far as I'm aware, #3 would be the highest drafted TE ever. On top of that, many are saying this is the deepest TE class ever. A top-5 pick on OJ Howard makes so little sense it's baffling. So please, anyone, convince me why it's remotely a smart idea.

Watching the highlight video of all his returns, and listening to Joniak make the Gale Sayers comparison, got me to thinking... Is Devin Hester already a HOF Candidate? He has literally changed the game. To me, his impact is similar to Lawrence Taylor's. Because of LT, teams now teach the tomahawk chop for the ball, and teams put a premium on LTs. The game changed as a result of his play. Can't the same be said of Hester? Has the game not changed when the Bears play? I have never seen teams purposely kick out of bounds to avoid a punt returner. I have never seen teams essentially give their opponents a 60 yard field on every kick off because the pooch i…

  19. Damn i was getting nervous, feels pretty good to not worry about the CBA. Who will be the first player targeted by the Bears??? Im thinking a DL. I would love a good WR but think it will be a DL. Tell me who you think they will go after first and who you would want them to go after first. Im thinking Cullen Jenkins= only cause there was a bunch of talk about it. I would want them to go after first= WR or OL....let me think about this player for a while and i will get back to you.
