Bearstalk

Wow, an old injury. Foles time? A 4th rounder? Lets go!

Starting with the defense. we need to re-sign roach LB and Adams DT, then sign Lawson OLB and C. Jenkins DT and maybe Marshall at CB. On offense I would be trying to get either C. Nicks G from the Saints or one of the two guards from the Falcons...they cant keep both hopefully...since we are cutting useless # 86 at TE we have got one already now we need a big WR like Williams, Moss, Burress, or Floyd. I have looked at the list of undrafted players we signed and there maybe some talent that we can use. We got three WR'S two centers, 5 DB/S types and a few OL and DL players so we can be sitting pretty with adding a few players at some positions.

Players are dropping like flies, but fortunately not people we were chasing. We need to add a free safety even if we draft one in the first three rounds. We have no depth there. Phillips is still out there, the best rated among the free agent safeties. Also Sean Jones has got some good reviews which has to be better than what we have. Phillips has been a SS but has played the free safety when he first got in the league. The problem is these guys will be gone if Jerry GM is waiting to get a good money deal from them two. Also do you think we could bring some CBs in and move them or Graham to FS? Bodden/Lions, Bartell/Rams or McFadden/Pitsb are still out there to be had. …

Peanut and Jennings are really making a strong case. They have won back-to-back DPOM awards, Peanut leads the league in Defensive TDs (2) and FFum (7), and Jennings leads the league in INT (6) and PD (15).

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001096543/article/bears-hiring-exbengals-oc-bill-lazor-as-their-oc Fired from the Bengals two seasons ago?(WTF?!?!). First read tells me Nagy has no intent on giving up control of the offense and is looking for another patsy. Who the hell is this guy?

Slim pickings now. With Walker and Gafney gone, here is what is left: Bryan Johnson (looks like Buffalo or Washington) Reche Caldwell Drew Carter DJ Hackett Marty Booker Robert Ferguson (if we are desperate) Brandon Lloyd (would need to be a minimum contract - not sure what he brings to us) I wonder how much longer JA is going to wait to jump in. We cannot go into the draft with the 5 receivers we have now. Peace

Since we will have a new LT (Williams)and a new RT(Tait) what teams DE do you think will give them the most problems this year? Colts =Mathis/Freeney Panthers=Peppers/Johnson Bucs=Adams/Douglas Eagles=Parker/Cole Lions x 2 =Devires/White Falcons=Abraham/Anderson Vikings x 2 =Allen/Edwards Titians=Kearse/Vanden Bosch Packers x 2 =Kampman/Jenkins Rams=Little/Long Jags=Spicer/Hayward Saints=Grant/Smith Texans=Weaver/Williams

How is he going to be better then anyone we currently have on the roster? I mean is he even going to be better then Nathan Enderle?

Browns announced Anderson will remain the starter for this weeks game versus the Bears.

It appears that the qb position may just keep going back and fourth as rex looks to have taken the lead today. Rex really didn't have any mistakes whereas Kyle threw a pic to bowman (who made an incredible play on the ball!!!) and Steltz. I'd have to say that rex has a little bit of an edge after today and the defense is looking really really good. Also even though kyle did have some pics, it did appear that he was role playing rex a bit. Meaning it appeared that kyle was taking some good shots down the field. Not just the dump offs and the 3-5 yarders, but some legit 15-25 yarders and those throws looked really good. Which is why I'm not putting rex up a whole lot.…

It's been one very quiet week on the board after all the Indy chat died down. Usually you see multiple posts about game plans or certain players needing to step up. IMO it appears nobody has a clue what to expect out of our team tomorrow although there is more excitement and optimism than before the Indy game. At least those are my feelings heading into Carolina. I'm not expecting as much of a running game tomorrow, at least it will be a lot tougher than we had it at Indy. On offense it seems to me we need our WR and TEs to step up and make plays in the passing game. They were pretty quiet against Indy. Are we still going with WR by committee? If Carol…

Per PFT: "Sources: Bills Shopping Simpson Sources close to the National Football Post have informed us that the Buffalo Bills are looking to trade free safety Ko Simpson before this weekend’s draft in New York. The former fourth round draft choice has complied 143 tackles and 2 interceptions in three NFL seasons. The Bills have been active in the past week. On Friday, Buffalo traded away Pro Bowl offensive tackle Jason Peters to Philadelphia in return for multiple draft picks and are reportedly shopping wide receiver Roscoe Parrish and defensive end Chris Kelsay as well." Simpson's a young guy (still only 25) with plenty of potential, who could be had…

Kyle Orton sounded unconcerned in his first public comments since GM Jerry Angelo indicated he may bring in another QB, calling the position the team's "Achilles heel" under his watch. "I really just don't have any comment on it," Orton said. "I actually haven't talked to [him] or anything like that, so it really doesn't have any bearing on me." According to a gossip column in the NY Daily News, Matt Cassel was urinated on in the bathroom during the Super Bowl. An intoxicated man allegedly tried to cut in front of Cassel at the Raymond James Stadium urinals. After Cassel told the drunk to wait his turn, the man "barged in and proceeded to purposefully pee direct…

And I'm not one to suggest hiring former Bear players as coaches, but if the Bears were to go down the path of hiring an offensive minded head coach (or for that matter Toub), I would be very interested in bringing Frazier in as our DC. I figure it is a relatively realistic option as well (vs. say Rex Ryan, who clearly would be a dream but probably not happening). Anyone else have particular people in mind for the DC position?

With all the talk of the money wasted by Pace and his so so selections in the draft and free agency we could be in a good situation in the offseason. It looks like the contracts are Bears friendly and prove it and you get paid or we move on without it majorly affecting our cap. The contracts below are from over the cap and the only players I would definitely want to keep are Trevathan with a possibility of Sitton, Demps and Young. Then if you consider the injuries to starters and hope this will improve especially if they can work out why it’s happening. I have always wondered if the state of the field at Soldier Field attributes to the soft tissue injuries. If yo…

49ers, Jimmy Garoppolo agree to five-year deal Posted by Michael David Smith on February 8, 2018, 1:36 PM EST Getty Images The 49ers have their franchise quarterback locked up for years to come. Jimmy Garoppolo has agreed to a five-year deal with the 49ers, according to multiple reports. The full numbers aren’t out yet, but Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports that the total value is $137.5 million, which would make it just a bit better than the five-year, $135 million deal Matthew Stafford got from the Lions last year. At $27.5 million a year it’s the biggest per-year average on a long-term contract in NFL history, although there’s no word on how much …
