I was watching Total Access Live on NFL Network yesterday and they said the Bengals were between Stacy Andrews and TJH to use their one franchise tag. It turns out Andrews blew out his knee last week or something, and so it seemed like it was obvious to give it to Houshmandzadeh. Well, Adam Schefter says the Bengals WILL NOT use it on Houshmandzadeh but maybe Chad. This means TJ will be able to test the market. Sounds like good news for us. Thoughts?

This is BearSox's Draft Discussion, and I will go over our options for each round. I guess this can be considered some what of a mock draft as well, but I'd like to have a discussion about our options and such. I'm only going to the first day for now. ROUND 1: We have a couple choices here and it looks like we can be picking in the 10-12 range as this team is brutal. One option is safety and perhaps Kenny Phillips is available here. The Trib says several times the cuts were part of a youth movement, or trying to get younger. As all the guys released were 30 or over, I guess it is not wrong to say as much. But was that really the reason? I personally think age had very little to do w/ yesterday's cuts. If Miller's 2008 base was the vet minimum instead of $4m+, would he have been cut? I think that if he was due to make the minimum, the team would have talked about how he was injured last year, and give him another season. I have always had a TV Package with NFL Network. I am thinking of downgrading my services as it is just too expensive. The package I am looking at does not have NFL Network. I will miss watching these games as they are generally good match-ups. However, my main concern is the Bears game with the Packers in week 2 on Thursday Night Football. I cannot remember, the Bears games in the Chicago area, if they are on Thursday Night Football on NFL Network are they also broadcasted on the local TV Affiliate? Read on PFT that Cincy could be putting Levi Jones on the block, and this is not the first time I have heard this. What i have yet to really understand is, why? He was their 1st round pick and I thought has proven to be a very good OT for them. Why would they be shopping him?
