Special Teams Article at Bears Site They just posted the 9th and final position article on the Bears Website. To be honest, the previous 8 I found very uninteresting as it seemed like typical coach-speak and gave really no information we did not already know or suspected. This one actually was interesting to me and gave an insight to some changes in special teams that might take place. If you have yet to go to the team site (my home page, LOL) you should check out the article. It talks about some changes being made in personel, a change in Goulds KO technique, players to keep an eye on with special teams, etc... Good stuff!!

So far it feels a little watered down compared to recent years. 3 games decided by 2 TDs or more. WAS seems to be blessed with the best luck. Down by 4, TB fumbles on their own 13 yard line, 4 plays later, WAS scores a TD and never trails again. They won by 3, so that play was the deciding factor and at least a 7 pt swing if not more. The best part of this weekend was seeing the GB frauds get sent packing where Love throws for 3 INTs and 0 TDs. Their only TD drive was when Jacobs accounted for 55 of the 78 yards. Herbert was just as bad if not worse than Love against HOU. He threw 4 picks and was sacked 4 times. So Herbert + Love threw more INTs …

Watched his bowl game today and came away impressed. He's not ready to start any NFL games, but has the mental and physical traits I like to see. As far as his demeanor goes, he's the anti Cutler. I would love to see him in a Bears uni.

I have been thinking lately about the concept of BPA, and how it applies to team needs. Related to that is the concept of value by position. In other words, if the second and third best Safeties are there in the third, then it makes sense to pass on the safety position until then. Having said that... 1st - NT or OLB/DE - if the Bears want/need DT, it needs to happen here. The first three appear to be gone in most recent mocks, which I still can't believe, in the first. Rapoport loses credibility with me calling it a big hire. Either he is serious, or joking and brilliant. Either way, we just improved by 2 games.

Nasty conditions, penalties, dropped passes, and McCown comes out with no turnovers, a 92.9 QB Rating, and ended the game 9 for 11 after starting 10 for 20. With us going to STL and then MIN the next two weeks, it would make sense to go with Josh again to allow Jay time to completely heal.

I had one Yahoo draft this year and when I went to the drafting room, the draft loaded and all I had was a blank screen. You could hear the draft going on, noise but nothing popped up on my screen. Does anybody know how I can fix this, or where on Yahoo I can get information to do it? I run the test draft app and dont get crap. I had one draft auto drafted and would like to get it fixed before our draft.

Monty has one more year on his rookie deal and has been very solid for the Bears over the last two years. I can't wait to get him back in the lineup where the Bears will have a real 1-2 punch in Monty and Herbert. Thru last week, with Monty missing a few games, their stats are very similar but they are completely different runners: Monty 69-309, 4.5 Y/A, 6-49. Herbert 58-279, 4.8 Y/A, 7-48. If Herbert keeps this up, and looks legit in a small sample size, the Bears will have to decide if they want to extend Monty, which seemed like a no-brainer just a few weeks ago. Now, I don't know.
