So the Bears are the biggest players in free agency, for sure, but they aren't the only ones. The Lions are making some aggressive moves of their own: so far, they've inked Nate Burleson from the Seahawks and Kyle Vanden Bosch from the Titans, plus they traded to get Corey Williams from the Browns. None of those are blockbuster moves like the Peppers signing, but they're all pretty smart, I think. Burleson isn't a great #1 receiver, but as a #2 paired with Calvin Johnson, he's miles better than Bryant Johnson or anybody else on Detroit's roster. I have no way of knowing if Nagy will be replaced as HC. I've given up trying to figure out what the 'brain trust' of the Bears are going to do. I used to hate Cowherd as he always seemed like a Bears hater, but for the last few years he has come around on the Bears and Cutler. This morning he was raving about the Bears and said they were his preseason pick for the NFC. He also likes Cutler and thinks that the incident with Tice was nonsense. If the Bears fire emery and staff it will cost them 15 million. If they are not able to trade Cutler it will cost them another 15 million if they cut him. It will cost the Bears 30 million dollars to clean house. If they clean house no one can blame them for being cheap(I stopped blaming them for being cheap awhile ago but some still do). That also doesn't even take into consideration on how much they will be paying the new staff.
