Looking ahead to this week's matchup against Arizona I think we have a shot to win. It's always hard to say what you have on a team (theirs or ours) after week 1 but I think we matchup better here for one simple reason: Carson Palmer is more Jay Cutler than he is Aaron Rodgers. Despite all the media hype and love of Palmer I've seen him have equally bad games as Cutler, often worse. He can make equally nice throws into coverage too so you just don't know what you'll get. When I watched the game against the Raiders I noted that Roy Williams looked faster than just about every other WR out of breaks in the pregame. And during the game he was open several times and just didn't see the ball. Why that happened is anyone's guess, but I'm 99% sure it's because he wasn't the first read and there wasn't enough time to get to the second read consistently. With Knox out, it appears that Williams is the #1 read and target...and was open. 6 catches for 81 yards could have easily been 7 for close to 100 if one other pass wasn't chucked at his feet. Was anyone else watching NFL network last night. I think the show was Around the League. They were interviewing Matt Millen about what he thought the Bears problem was. We've got a bye week at what appears to be perfect timing to allow several key players to get healthy. After four games you have a good feel for what your team is so I'm putting my thoughts out there. Defense: CBs: Work in progress but I like the fact our corners are more aggressive at the LOS than they were last year. We still give up too many easy outs and comeback plays. With Bowman still learning on the job and Tillman still getting in game shape we should improve during Q2. Despite that we'll still going to be more of a bend but don't break style here. Now that we know what the Bears roster will look like what are your expectations for the season. I will be surprised if they are less that 9-7. They have retooled their entire offense. Not one of their top four wide receivers and tight end were on the team last year. And they played in an offense that was stuck in the forty's. You bring back a defense that was a top ten with two new young players in Smith and Mack. A new head coach who is suppose to be cutting edge on not only scheme but also play calling. Plain and simple...I do not like what I see. No identity. No soul. No talent. No wins. The coaching is poor. I just find myself where I felt with Trestmans' last year... No hope... With all the negativity surrounding his play Glennon accepted his demotion with more class and dignity than anyone has in the past other than Kurt Warner when the Giants put Eli Manning in for him. Glennon vowed to help Trubisky any way he can and be ready if called upon again. That's putting team before personal goals magnified.
