http://chicagobearsfanforum.com/blog/?p=260 The Bears * Brad Biggs of The Chicago Sun-Times blogs that Bears RB Cedric Benson has lost only four pounds between last year and this year, something he clearly doesn't believe: Slimmed down running back Cedric Benson is listed at 216 pounds, down four from last year's list. If he's 216 now, he wasn't 220 last year. Well, whatever he weighs now and whatever he weighed then, if the weight loss is all flab then its all good. * From Pro Football Weekly's Whispers Column: Injury-prone Bears WR Mark Bradley, who is recovering from early-May arthroscopic surgery on his right…

https://dabearsblog.com/2021/zimmermanqb Found this interesting. Don't know how close to reality the values are. But based on his points I just don't see any reason the Bears should do any trading up for any QB that would be available before ten. I want them to just stay put unless one of the top four falls beyond ten or hope Jones falls to 20. Other wise draft a OL best player available at 20 and see who's there in the 2nd.

RB or TE? OK, so it's pretty obvious TE is more important, but the class isn't that great. A lot of people believe TE's are being overvalued because there just aren't good ones. So, figure the round and then go one round later. The RB class, however, has some interesting talent. So, that leads me to this dilemma: What if Derrick Henry and Hunter Henry are both available in the beginning of the third? I like both guys, but I think Derrick Henry could be one of those Earl Campbell types, a guy who is going to easily average 4 yards per carry. He won't cause a ton of missed tackles, but when he gets a head of steam going, he's going to punish LBs …

We probably all saw this one coming. I just hope they don't spend a first or second rounder to replace him or Forte like they did Marshall last year. He's near the top as all around TE's go despite an off year.

Had a pretty good team when he coached up in Minneapolis. Although this was probably my most favorite memory of him.

Trubisky's debut sure made the rounds and turned heads last weekend. At PFF he made their preseason week 1 team of the week. If he keeps up the level of play he showed last Thursday he's going to make a lot of "experts" eat large quantities of crow pie. We Bears fans have long suffered through poor QB play, it's exciting to think we possibly could finally have a legit franchise QB. No one will care about the move up one spot to take him. It is only one preseason game, and it was against 2nd and 3rd stringers, but a lot of "experts" talked a lot of crap about the pick, and how it all went down. PFF Preseason week 1 team of the week

A writer for The Athletic took 70 sites big boards and made a consensus big board. So lets say this IS the board all teams use for value of players. We have 39-48-71 and I think the first three positions that we take are OL, DT and WR, in some order As you look at the board the sweet spot imo is 40-75, were our three picks are.. WR--40. Pickens. DT 44 Logan Hall. OT 53 Tyler Smith 47 Watson. 54 D. Leaf. 61 D Faalele 57 Skyy Moore. 59 Winfrey. 64 D Kinnard 58 Metchie lll. …

I just read an article on this kid and looked up some info, he had 33 PBU and 13 INT in his career. He didnt get drafted because of his small stature. He is 5'9" 183 but is an explosive player. 11' broad jump 43" vertical leap 7.00 3 cone drill The kid needs to get stronger but has all the skills to be our slot corner http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2476297...okie-gem/page/7

Caught this from the Sun Times Briggs' deal has protection for team after 2009 The Bears have never had issue with the performance Lance Briggs has provided on the field. Ultimately, it’s why general manager Jerry Angelo said at the combine that he did not have a problem investing in the three-time Pro Bowl linebacker long term as a core player after he earned more than $7.2 million last season with the franchise tag.... But they’ve also protected themselves in the future. Briggs’ $3.3 million roster bonus for 2010—the final roster bonus in the deal—does not come due until June 10 of that year. That’s three months after most roster bonuses are paid at or near …

Agent: At least two teams interested in Burress by Staten Island Advance Friday May 15, 2009, 4:02 PM Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for former Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress, reported on his Twitter page that at least two NFL teams are interested in signing Burress. (AP) Former Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress has drawn interest from at least two NFL teams his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, reported on his Twitter page on Friday. Burress, who is embroiled in a legal storm following an accidental shooting inside a Manhattan night club, was released by the club in April. "Ran wind sprints with Plaxico Burress," Rosenhaus wrote on Friday. "There are at least 2…

Here is a request from Uncle Meatball of BearFansUnited.org in regards the game against the ViQueens via this link to the website: http://bit.ly/5Z9JHv Basically what he is asking that all fans attending the game to wait until after the initial kick-off to the game before taking your seats. If I was in town and attending the game, I would be very interested in hanging out with my fellow fans to help make a statement to the McCaskey family and the upper management of this team. It does not cost anyone anything and does not truly make you miss the game, just the opening kick-off. I hope all that go will wait until after the kick before heading to their se…

Just changed the entire future of the NFC North with one play. Played the game of his life tonight. 3 sacks, and multiple pressures. Hats off to him. Hopefully this gets him going. He may have just revived our playoff hopes by knocking Rodgers out of the game. Somewhere Phil Emery has a smile as wide as the Grand Canyon.

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=8971 Rookie receiver Alshon Jeffery followed his impressive performance in Thursday night’s preseason opener with an equally strong effort on the practice field Saturday in Bourbonnais. The second-round draft pick caught three touchdown passes in a red-zone drill, using his 6-3, 216-pound frame to leap high over defensive backs in the corner of the end zone on all three plays. Bears rookie second-round draft choice Alshon Jeffery catches a pass in practice. “As you look at receivers you want to see production,” said coach Lovie Smith. “From OTAs we were talking about how good his hands w…

Of the 76 kicker/punters in the database, Gould finished 75th (in terms of Value-Added) with a -13.4 and O'Donnell finished 42nd with a -1.6. The part that most were concerned with was Gould's kickoffs and that was clearly illustrated in this database as he finished dead last in that category. http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-ha...on-nfl-kickers/ So with a cap hit of $4.1mil next year, is Kicker an area we need to address this offseason? Gould has the 3rd highest average salary for a Kicker (behind Gostkowski and Janikowski).
