I'm hearing a staff that thinks they are heroically taking the blame to shield their players, while they think that their scheme would have worked and players just didnt make plays. As of today, the Bears are not projected to be awarded any Compensation Picks. I do not like how they rated these because I feel like we lost a ton more than gained. Have to see what Hicks signs for and who else the Bears sign. Robinsons contract could get us a 3rd as long as it is 15.5.

So, because of the other thread, here's the official/unofficial offensive line rankings. Simple stuff. Rank the five Bears offensive linemen 1-5 throughout the year. Consider effectiveness, consistency, penalties, sacks, huge plays, leadership, dominance, responsibility, etc. For my money it's probably: 1) Bushrod - Huge problems before this year. Nearly no problems this year. Called on to man the most difficult position, and for the most part dominated. 2) Slauson - Rarely heard anything about him. That's good. So this comes out: The phantom low block (that missed) on the Graham TD, the Fields Roughing that Passer (that extends the drive), and the lining up in the neutral zone on the missed FG. 2 out of 3 scoring plays and a scoring drive, all negatively impacted by officials against one team. That doesn't even include the hip check and BS taunting call that led to a PIT score. Unbelievable.

Reports are out there saying we might bring in Ball. I like it if he's brought in to be the backup. I wanna see Langford get a legit shot to start. I do like Ball though. His first year he averages 4.7 YPC which is pretty good. Sucked last year, but which is the real Ball? If he's the 4.7 YPC guy he was his rookie season he and Langford could be a good duo beyond this year. Ball is still just 24 years old and I'm shocked he's not on a team somewhere.

Damn am I torn on this one. He is my favorite Bear and I would love to see him retire here but it is clear he has lost a step. Further, it is clear Payne is no FS but he did look very good at SS. All year it’s been kind of the same. Flashes of brilliance mixed with horrific accuracy and suspect mechanics. I keep waiting for a huge, breakout game. A ridiculous game that displays why he was the #1 pick. Something that shows him carrying the team instead of just being part of it.
