Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. 1. Started by sackman,

I've just got that sinking feeling that it's 5 wins or less. We've got no chance vs the Eagles and confidence will be very low. I expect you'll be hearing the "they've tuned Lovie out" chants loud and clear Monday morning. I hope I'm wrong but something tells me there's a big downward spiral on it's way. Go Bears

We still have some decent names out there to sign but the reality is there still hunting for good money. I think Hicks, Freeman, and Gersham leave town without contracts. I dont think going forward we will be over paying for FAs. We knew they were after Tev but Massie was a surprise pick. He is average but improves our OL never the less. DL- names left to chase Hicks Fairly Crick Knighton Jerkins ( heard that deal is not done yet) OLB …

The for and against Fields conversation will go on until the draft but several things come into play. 1st we have to have the number 1 pick.. I think its Caleb Williams or Justin Fields. If Poles thinks Williams is the guy, he will take him. If we end up with the second or third pick that is out of the picture. Maye does not carry the clout that Williams does. Truth be told, both have been questioned about being great as we get closer to the draft. The third pick is probably the best player in the draft MHJ, if he is there, he will take him. So now the conversation, is there a QB prospect that has more upside than the upside of Fields? The draft will bring more …

I didn't say much during the training camp portion on this board because I didn't want to start unnecessary firestorms. I told all my co-workers that the Bears were a 3 win team after the 3rd preseason game which is very unusual for me because I'm always an optimist. Last nights game and Cutler's subsequent injury only confirms my biggest fear that this is going to be a long difficult season for us fans!

Reality Hits Quickly for the Bears Seldom do I read an article on one of the Chicago sites that I do not get pi$$ed at when reading, but this article I can not find any points I disagree with. A good article for all of us starving for football to begin!

  7. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2582867...dipping-problem I know we all recently learned about the outburst and him being named captain (after this most recent fiasco) but seeing more specifics...craaazzy. Only thing I wonder is why didn't new regime drop him immediately (as I presume they would have been made aware of how players felt, etc...or maybe general reaction from players was okay with Ratliff...they just wanted to see more control from coaches)?

https://www.chicagobears.com/news/bears-players-visit-children-s-hospital It's awesome to see 33 players give up their day off to visit a children's hospital, especially given the very tight schedule they have in the next 10 days. Best wishes for Will Rodgers' daughter in her battle with Leukemia. We usually see this stuff in the offseason when players have more time available and even then I don't recall seeing a group this large. I think it says a lot about the character of the players on our roster.

  9. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/...h-hit/#comments I disagree with Marshall, but damn if I don't love his desire to stick up for his QB. This is the stuff that bring cohesiveness... Did you all hear the outpour of love and ovation when Cutty returned to the game? I loved that! Don't listen to the national (or local) media Jay. We are 100% with you! I don't care if Jay's surly or jovial. I just want him to play hard and smart and well. And I think he's doing all 3. And there is a lot of room for improvement. I love this team. Let me count the ways... 1. It's the Bears 2. The D is playing their best since the SB campaign. M…

I watched the game with some close friends. We were talking and my friend from college runs a sports bar in chicago that is funded by a bunch of chicago athletes. Well he tells us that on friday night he catered a party for Urlacher at his house. From what he says most of the team was there and they were partying pretty good unitl 3 or 4 in morning. I said bullshit but he had some pretty good details to share. I had seen a interview with Urlacher in his basement and my friend described his basement to the tee. So i wonder if the Bears really were not taking Detroit to serious? Prolly the reason Lovie freaked out at halftime. I hope the Bears are taking NE as serious …

With the lack of activity in the offseason and the team's willingness of letting starters like Berrian and Briggs go, as well as special team contributors like Ayanbadejo and Gilmore, I am thinking more and more that JA and the Bears are going to spend the next season or two rebuilding the team to make them better for the future rather then putting all our resources into just for the next year or two. I can't say this is a bad idea, but it would suck to see the Bears suck for a year or two, if not more. But with the young talent and future the Lions, Vikings, and Packers have, we might not be able to compete in the NFC North for more then maybe a year or two.

Unless we have a few miracles take place, we are on a downward path. Here's my plan for a quick turnaround. Fire Pace and replace him with Louis Riddick. I don't of many more football people I have been more impressed with. He's smart, knowledgeable, decisive, commanding and diverse. Give him full command to hire and fire at will. My choice would be that he hire someone like Dabo Sweeney to be HC. Also, beg Bill Polian to be president of your organization for two years and give him free reign. We know this going to be a two to three year change, so let's think 2 years ahead to start. Our defense is older, but incredibly talented. We have collateral there…

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/jensen/2575...-sean08.article Again, we "didn't practice" this and surprisingly we weren't very good at getting off the line under press coverage. Darryl Drake is coaching it this year, so why now? Just more evidence of Lovie's and Turner's incompetence. If you see players struggling with something consistently at some point you should realize you need to spend some time on it. On the plus side, knowing now that we almost never did any work on it but we are now there should be a significant improvement in this area. Not saying our WR will be great getting off press coverage but putting some time into it has to take you from z…

So Cutler is on the radio and asked about the WRs, and who he expects to breakout, and he once again, immediately goes to DA, then mentioning Iglesias. I bring this up because we keep hearing (I think from the staff) that Hester and Knox appear to be the starters. Last year, Cutler seemed to beg for DA to play. This year, Cutler again really seems to be pushing for DA to have a key role. Will he? So, how do you all see the WRs shaking out and/or how (if different) would you like to see it shake out. What I would like. DA and Knox as the starters. Both have speed and DA has size. Great talent duo here. Hester in the slot. I know the staff reall…

From last season, the Bears lost this much production from their passing game (Mooney, Tonyan, Foreman): 53-603-2 This is what they gained from adding Allen, Everett, and Swift: 198-1868-11 That is such a massive jump in production it would make the Bears have a 4500 yard passer with the difference (145-1265-9) added to last year's passing totals. For rushing totals, they go from: 109-425-4 to 229-1049-5. So 120-624-1 difference there as well. Adding over 2K yards of offense and 10 TDs cannot be understated.

Jerry and Lovie always say that we're a "running football team Maybe with two less o-linemen in front of benson he can actually find the hole. Maybe, just maybe if we play 3 o-lineman he might be able to squeeze his fat ass through the gap. Anyways I know it's still early, however with the expanded cap I'm starting to worry because the fa's are being inked a whole lot faster than ever, and soon we will be going into the season with st. clair at rt and metcalf at g, which would suck because our starters sucked last year and now we're going to play the ones who couldn't even beat them out. I'm not worried about wr as much cause we have a lot of potential there yet with b…

In the spirit of some of the discussions here regarding whether McCown can 'carry the team' (long term - this season) or otherwise. McCown and the playoffs? So if I understand it, the burden is more on Trestman at this point than McCown to produce. Again, the 'operator vs scheme' discussion.

It has crossed my mind that one of the top players that could go to the Bears will come from the University of Georgia. Does that concern anybody else since the Bears luck with players from there have not been the greatest. I liked Roquan, but he made some odd decisions. Floyd didn't really fit or flourish in any of our schemes. Wims and Ridley couldn't get on the field and when they did they liked throwing fists. Now when I think of Jalen Carter, a flag pops up and I wonder if he will be another Georgia Bulldog disappointment. If we trade down and Anderson is gone, I am starting to lean on moving down again.

As we all know or at least are convinced Jerry let the wrong RB go after the 2006 Super Bowl run. Benson didn't pan out in 2007 and ended up injured. The run game was non-existent last year. In 2006 we enjoyed a 1-2 punch of Jones and Benson. IMHO Benson's only good season in chicago. Entering the Draft we had Benson, Wolfe, and AP. Not long after drafting Forte Benson is let go. Leaving us with Forte expected to be the feature back along with AP as backup and Wolfe in spot duty. Then comes the signing of Kevin Jones at a very reasonable one year deal. Let's suppose for a moment that Jones and Forte become a 1-2 punch that's as good or better than the Jone…
