http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/around_th...?urn=nfl,142741 Thu Feb 19, 2009 8:19 pm EST Execs taken aback by Asomugha, Lechler deals By Jason Cole INDIANAPOLIS – Reaction was swift and ugly Thursday to the deals the Oakland Raiders gave CB Nnamdi Asomugha and punter Shane Lechler over the past two days. "How many different ways can you say, 'What were they thinking?' " a team executive who declined to be identified said after being told the terms of Asomugha's three-year, $45 million contract. "Insanity, stupidity, whatever you want to attach to it. Yeah, the kid is the best cornerback in the league. They paid for quality. I'll give them…

With all the discussion lately around BPA vs. needs I'm curious to see what everyone views our top needs are heading into the draft. I tried to include all positions so this can be as objective as possible. In other words ILB is still listed even though we just spent $10mil to fix it. Even though I listed top 3 needs, if we get enough people to vote then from a statistics view point we should we will be able to identify and rank our top 5 needs. To do that I'll give every 1st place vote 10 points, every 2nd place vote 5 points, and every 3rd place 3 points.

Lions schedule leaked, too Posted by Mike Florio on April 20, 2010 5:06 PM ET One of the most awaited teams schedules -- the Steelers -- has been leaked. And so the appropriate bookend would be one of the least awaited. We give you the Lions 2010 schedule, from the Detroit News. Sept. 12, at Chicago; Sept. 19, Philadelphia; Sept. 26, at Minnesota; Oct. 3, at Green Bay; Oct. 10; St. Louis, Oct. 17, at N.Y. Giants; Oct. 31, Washington; Nov. 7, N.Y. Jets; Nov. 14, at Buffalo; Nov. 21, at Dallas; Nov. 25, New England; Dec. 5, Chicago; Dec. 12, Green Bay; Dec. 19, at Tampa Bay; Dec. 26, at Miami; Jan. 2, Minnesota.

DE from Texas. Why Gilbert then?

Great pick!!!!!!!

Options: trade back 43 to Cincinnati for 65- 107- 147 Grant Delpit K. J. Hamiler Cesar Ruiz Josh Jones A. J. Terrel What do you do?

Linebacker is a definite strength of this 2009 version of the Chicago Bears. Lance Briggs is a perennial Pro Bowler, Brian Urlacher is one of the better middle backers in the game, and newly named starting strongside LB Pisa Tinoisamoa has me wondering what the Rams were thinking in releasing him. Tinoisamoa (does this guy have a nickname yet) has quickly become a fan favorite. His speed and big hits have endured him to the fans, and his versatility (he played weakside LB in the past) could pay dividends in the long run. The three starters are great fits for the Bears scheme. Last year the Bears opened up with 6 LB's on the roster, and I expect them to do the sam…

As the honorary Alaskan Chapter President of the Rashied Davis fan club, I felt compelled to post this. Good work Rashied. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...,0,735657.story

we are approximately 9 million under the cap with next Monday as the deadline for applying future salaries to this yrs cap. What to do? - Sign Kyle to a long term deal? - Sign St Clair (FA after this yr)? - Sign Mike Brown (FA after this yr)? - Sign Brandon Lloyd (FA after this yr)? I was thinking on holding out on extending Kyle until the end of the yr (to see if he can maintain his level of performance) but it may be beneficial to extend him now and eat most of the cap this yr. Thoughts? Peace

Everyone was on their nuts for being 2-1- who gives a sh*t? They beat the frigging Chiefs and Lions. If we can't beat them in 2 weeks, we don't deserve to compete in the NFL as we should kill Detroit next week. If there's ANY way we can win tonight, we could be 4-2 after week 6...

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...,0,102718.story No safety to be had in St. Louis By Vaughn McClure February 19, 2009 If the Bears were hoping to find Mike Brown's replacement in St. Louis, they better start looking elsewhere. The Rams slapped the franchise tag on free safety Oshiomogho Atogwe, as reported by the NFL Network. Atogwe would have been a top free-agent target, and the Rams had no other choice after not agreeing to a long-term deal with the defensive standout. Atogwe led the Rams with eight interceptions this season. The Bears' trio of Brown, Kevin Payne and Craig Steltz had seven combined. Other options might arise as fre…

So here is the plan I will hit TC on Monday Aug 3 my B-day( The Big 50) depending on practice schedule times. I'll keep you posted and I will wear something that will make me easy to recognize. It will be in the courtyard and I have quite a few B…

This coaching staff is herendous. I wouldnt mind seeing all but Toub fired. How do u consistently repeat the same bonehead mistakes? And Lovie should check himself in at the Chicago Memorial Hospital for his Alzheimers'. He looks like a zombie. where the hell is Marc Bradley and Earl bennet? The sabercat(davis) has nothing but destroy the teams chance to win the last two games. At least those two guys can catch. Hey Orton, welcome to the Rex Grossman club. Nice pass to Gaines Adams. Also, try cocking your arm back to throw a pass with a little bit of speed on it. I dont remember once seeing you hit a guy that was 5 yards passed his defender. Forte was wide open…
