  1. Started by adam,

So wow, a lot to unpack already this year. So starting from the top, this team could easily be 0-3-1 right now and that is how it feels. In 4 weeks, there have been so few bright spots, it is incredible that this team is so how 2-2. I can't tell if there are halftime adjustments or the other team's get conservative and allow the Bears to run the ball more AND the also play more conservative and score less - or the defense is actually playing better in the second half. The entire offense is hot mess. In every passing week, it just seems more and more like either Fields is not the guy, or the team doesn't trust him and are not planning for him to be the long-term solut…

So Allen Robinson is who we thought he was. Has anyone else watch the Rams games? He is literally jogging routes out there and barely blocks the refs. In 4 games, he has 9 receptions and 95 yards and is on pace for 38 receptions and 400 yds receiving. I am sure it will go up but not that much. He will probably end up with a season similar to last season's loaf-a-thon. The sad part is he would lead the Bears in receptions! That is how bad the passing attack has been. Somewhere Dowell Loggains is smiling.

  4. Started by adam,

So Gordon got completely shredded last night on multiple plays (no help from Jackson on one of them), but the alternative in the 2nd Round was a WR. There were 6 WRs selected after Gordon in the 2nd Round (and before Velus Jones). Here are there stats after 2 weeks: Wan'Dale Robinson 1-5 John Metchie - no stats Tyquan Thornton - no stats George Pickens 2-26 Alec Pierce - no stats Skyy Moore 1-30 Pickens may have the best chance to pan out, maybe one of the injured guys does, but I don't know if any of them would help our putrid offense right now. If Mooney has only 2 receptions, most of these guys wouldn't even have a target on the Bears yet.

  5. Giants are playing tonight, so I wanted to start this thread before the game. It will be interesting to see if they win and start the season 3-0. I thought the initial line of Bears -3 was very telling. Vegas thinks this is an even game on a neutral field. They will have the short week. Without the 3rd game for the Giants, the team stats will be a little skewed, but I will update later. Right now for comparison sake: Pts scored - CHI - 20th, NYG - 16th Pts allowed - CHI - 12th, NYG - 8th Total Yards - CHI - 31st, NYG - 22nd Total Yards Against - CHI - 20th, NYG - 13th INTs - CHI - 3, NYG - 0 Sacks - CHI - 6, NYG - 3 …

There are a couple plays I disagree with him especially the first one because that is a bad pass. Overall the breakdown does explain a few of the bad plays but also shows some positive stuff that I didn't pick up during the game such as Fields switching the play from pass to the Herbert 50yd run. He's still locked on some reads too long but it's still early in the season.

You wouldn't think the Bears were a first place team, but that is what the standings say. Sitting on top with GB and Minn. Gives the team a reason to cobtinue to show up.

157 yards on 20 carries, 2 TD, 2 receptions, 12 yards. There have only been 18 games since 2002 where a player had 150+ yds, on 20 or less carries, at least 2 TDs, 2 receptions, and 10+ receiving yards. 16 players to do it, Tomlinson and Jonathan Taylor are the only 2 to do it twice ( from 2002-2022). The last 5 before Herbert were Taylor x2 (20/21), Aaron Jones (20), McCaffrey (19), Chubb (19), and LeSean McCoy in 2016.

It seems like the rust is finally off. What a game he had. In 3 games, Smith leads the NFL in total tackles (T-36), has 0.5 sacks, 2 TFLs, 1 INT, and 2 Passes Defended. If he can keep up this pace and get a couple of FF's he will be looking at a big contract. He is on pace for over 200 total tackles.

  12. The Bears are favored!!!!!, by 2.5, which means on an neutral field, HOU would be -0.5 lol. Interestingly enough, this team is like the Spiderman meme with the Bears. Both have the same amount of pts scored, are near the bottom in the league in yards (Bears 32, Texans 28), have almost the same amount of pts against, same amount of sacks (5), and both teams cannot stop the run (Bears 32, Texans 30). The biggest differences are the Bears have a much better rushing game (8 v 27), which plays into the Texans' weakness, and the Texans give up a ton more passing yds (270 vs 183), good for a Fields get right game. Just based on yardage, the Texans do nothing wel…

Looks like a possible high ankle and MCL sprain. That would be 4-6 weeks, if any tears, it might be longer. Tough blow in a contract year, but on the flip side, Herbert looked really good.

I would like for him to succeed, but he seems to be struggling. From the Athletic: Seven Shots Drill, is 7 plays from the 2 yard line. Trubisky is now 3 for 20 as the Steelers starting QB. One of the conversions was a Najee Harris run. Now this: Pelissero: Steelers now splitting first-team reps between Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph

After watching this, I feel much better. QB1 is maturing before our eyes. Compare this to a Trubisky presser from 2019, it is night and day difference:

Forgive me, but what you about to read is purely conjecture. I am concerned about Mooney. Over the course of the off season, we read on numerous accounts how much time he and Justin spent together running routes. Fast forward to training camp and we have a rash of reciever injuries. Mooney never was on the report, but he did have to pick up the slack. While many 4, 5, 6 and 7th receivers are used for their camp legs, we did not have that luxury. We had to use our #1, giving Mooney a lot of extra reps in practice and all three exhibition games. Also, what role did Eberflus' "always hustle" mantra play into this? You know where I'm going. His legs look tire…

  18. Starting out the gates +10 seems a little high after a 9 pts win and GB's double digit loss. Oddsmakers still have no faith in this team. Can you imagine if the Bears win and head into an easier part of their schedule, 2-0 while GB sits at 0-2? That would be wild. If I go off Week 1s results, I would probably say the Bears win, but going off historical data, it looks like GB should win by a TD. So I am going to say Bears by 3, 27-24!

Lamar back to MVP form, Fields can play like this, he just needs to be unleashed. Either DET is ok or WAS is terrible. Wentz is god awful one minute and looks amazing the next. Poor Mitch. 15-24, 120 yds, 1 INT, 3 sacks, looks lost. Mac Jones is going to beat him. IND looks terrible wow. Matt Ryan is done, looks worst than Rivers. Lawrence is abusing their defense, which is shocking, great game for him though. Flacco vs Brissett, what a barn burner there. First team to stay awake wins. Daniel Jones vs Mayfield, barn burner 2.0. The game of the injured RBs (McCaffrey and Barkely, who gets injured first?) Has anyone seen Brady lately, looks li…
