Said Bears G.M. Jerry Angelo, “I feel good about the secondary, if we can stay healthy. I like the safeties. Craig Steltz should take a step this year. Kevin Payne got a lot of playing time last year. I even like the guy we took in the sixth round [Al Afalava]. We picked up Josh Bullocks, who has a good play history as well.”

I have bad mouthed Trent Dilfer for many years due to his Jay Cutler hate. Well pigs must be flying or I just hear Trent praise Jay Cutler. Trent raved about the new Jay- said if you watch the game film he is doing the right things, reading Defenses, mechanics etc etc Puts him right on the fringe of the Manning, Rodger, Breese and Brady level of QB's. Trent explained why for many years he was critical of Jay and why he is now on the Jay bandwagon Said his mechanics are great now. that he has bought into the process of being a great one/ team leader (from talking to guys that have worked with him since Trest showed up) and that he would take Jay any day …

QUOTE: "Jay Cutler threw a pick-six to Cardinals S Tony Jefferson on a miscommunication with Martellus Bennett. “It’s an option route," said Bennett. “I may feel something that Jay sees different on the play. … Those are plays we need to make and make all the time.” … That's two weeks in a row those little miscommunications on your routes have resulted in turnovers that led to opponents scores. How may more times are you gonna "freelance" your routes and not be in the spot where Cutler expects you to be and delivers the ball too? The Cutler haters will blame him because they always have but those picks didn't happen in a vacuum. In both cases you overran your ro…

Dudes, I see a hell of a lot of "cut this guy" and "trade Forte" stuff here. And that's fine. There's always room for various opinions and cleaning house is always an option. Moving older players along is something this organization needs to learn to do so I get it. But let's not get our panties in too big a ruffle here. Most of us believed, going into this season, the Bears were on the right track and with a few key acquisitions to shore up the defense, they'd be a playoff team. What a difference a season makes, to be sure, but this team still has an awful lot of talent on offense. There are clearly some key needs to fill everywhere on this team but we're …

I think our big contracts are our of the way but with the Bennett deal we got an extra 5 mil to spend here is who I still want to be here Jared Crick/DE 26 with 31 starts under his belt. Still has upside for growth. better than Jenkins that contributed last year. Will be very reasonable Scott Chandler-30 he is not a great pass catcher but a very good blocker. To make a complete position for that spot we need a good blocker. Rashad Johnson-30- 3 years younger than Rolle and has some game Patrick Robinson- finally had a good season, was ranked in the top 30 CBs by PFF for depth Will Montgomery in case Gassu needs more time we have a comptan…

I posted the article from The Athletic on another thread, so I thought it would be good to post why things will be better. For starters, we all know about the Polian hiring. What some may not know is that George and Ted have been talking with him all year and placed him on the payroll in October. That's A big big deal. Ted Phillips had been proven to be a bumbling fool when it comes to football, but I didn't realize until the aforementioned article that he was in the good ol boys network. That alone pissed me off, but now that he's out of the football part maybe the best decision will be made. We are in a unique situation and this has Polian's stamp on i…

So after all of this talk in the offseason, we leave training camp without an answer. If you have two QB's, you have none. My gut tells me it will be Foles based on Nagy's comments. He keeps saying it will be a tough decision, but wouldn't naming Trubisky the starter in Year 4 be easy? So if it is a difficult decision, then it has to be Foles right? That seems logical to me because if they were that close throughout training camp, the no-brainer is to go with Trubisky. So I am saying it's Foles for Week 1. How about you?

Dont like the signing. Unless we already have a deal for Rolle/Atogwe... i dont see why they moved so fast. FS is a desperate need and relying on a 3rd rounder is BS Getting Chester Taylor is certainly a great back to have, but i dont like not filling a major need first

Let's do a quick breakdown: Davis - Can't catch, can't run a route without being bumped off, is an average blocker Spaeth - Can't catch, is an above average blocker Rodriguez - Is supposed to have great catching ability, has shown average blocking Why is Rodriguez not in the game instead of Davis and Spaeth?! Everyone is talking about pass-catching TE this and that, like it needs to be drafted or addressed in the off-season, but somehow Rodriguez is forgotten. WTF was the draft pick for if it wasn't going to be a player who gets used? Oh, that's right, he's not even in the TE meetings; he's an H-Back. Whatever the hell that means in the Bears' offense. …

Top Athlete: Alec Ogletree – Georgia – 6’3/232 The former safety has been receiving criticism from my end for a long time. Each time I watch the talented but underachieving Bulldogs defense on tape, Ogletree jumps out at me in two ways. One good, one bad. Top end speed, agility, and reaction. Closes a 5-10 yard window quicker than anyone in this class. An easy, fluid mover in coverage with fast-twitch hips. Physical tackler that knows how to finish a play when he has his weight under him. Struggles mightily against oncoming blockers. Minimal physical presence. Gets locked on to with ease and cannot free himself. A liability against the inside rushing game…

Looking at what has been done after the season my top acquisition has been narrowed down to 2 Bushrod and Kasheem(sp?) Greene. I think both are solid players and will make an impact next year and probably take over for Briggs when he is a cap casualty next year.

Well since Jerry likes to do this, try this scenerio. Denver trades there 2 2nd round picks to Chi for 29th and 3th round pick. With the 36th pick the Bears pick Sherrod/LT/Miss S With the 46th pick the Bears take Baldwin/WR/Pitt With the 62nd pick the Bears select McClain/DT/SF Denvers reasoning is with Elway taking over running the team, Already have stated franchize qb not on roster. Have had a private workout with Locker and starts his run as GM with a prospect he can sink his teeth into. With 2 1sts and 2 3rds, they fill there needs with a DT, QB, OLB and SS. The Bears get players that might not be there in the 3rd. With the 4th …

Looks like the Bears got an early start on a guy I think can really help this team (per KFFL): Bears | Freddie Barnes signed Comment (0) Sat, 24 Apr 2010 14:44:30 -0400 The Chicago Bears have signed undrafted free-agent WR Freddie Barnes (Bowling Green), according to Daniel Mogollon, of NFLDraftBible.com. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Many of the big names will be resigned with their old teams(home is there-friends) history tells us that Many will be priced out of our price range Pace is so secretive, we have no idea what his plan is, Marshall was the first move, bold with giving up on a pro bowl type WR Our needs are everything and I think we address every need so we can take BPA in the draft S McCourty is the gem, may be out of our price range at 10 mil a year Moore is probably considered next and at a mid level price will have many suitors Searcy is a good name and could be a possible target (bargain) Ron Parker/KC last year he played well after starting because of inj…

Have to find a way to beat them. I am assuming that Ratliff and Briggs will not play so the defense needs to do something. I think we need to score at least 28 points to win and hopefully hold them to field goals. Peace
