It's time to start some predictions about who steps up this year to contribute more than expected heading into training camp. Last years' defensive surprise had to be McBride who ended up getting a lot of playing time last year and did well in coverage. He was talked about quite a bit in camp. If there was an offensive surprise last year although Olson made a lot of highlight catches in camp. As a first round pick that was kinda expected. This year my picks will be: Defense/special teams - Corey Graham. This kid played well on special teams at the end of the year I think he ends up as our 3rd CB this year ahead of McBride. 3rd CB does not mean he…

But don't get your hopes up.

Hey Guys, My extended family and I are going to visit Bears training camp for the first time this year. I'm really excited. Of course as a newbie, I don't know anything about it, how it works, if you have to get there early, need tickets etc? Also, are there any must see or do attractions or restaurants etc in the area? I know some of you guys have a lot of experience in this, so any tips or info are greatly appreciated. Thank you! Kyle

This news is a few weeks old, but it looks like most teams will start training camp on July 28th (in 2 weeks). Crazy I know. Also, it looks like teams will not bring in 90 players due to COVID-19 and because they won't have time to properly evaluate all of them and get the roster cut down in time. The consensus is that the NFL won't play any preseason games even though two are currently scheduled for late August. I would assume there is going to be a lot more soft tissue injuries this year if they don't have any physical contact build up. However, if that reduces the number of COVID cases, then that is the best move. So what do you think…

Normally an 0-5 team shouldn't make me nervous. Especially a team that has averaged 4 turnovers a game. But there is a huge difference between an 0-5 Giants team and an 0-5 Jags team. The 0-5 Jags team isn't accustomed to winning and the Giants are. The lack of depth at Dline worries me except that the giants average 56yds/game. Eli's deluded mindset is also helpful:

Incredible win but sucks for TJ and Trapillo. Both suffered significant injuries. Trapillo tore his patellar tendon and Edward’s broke his fibula. Hope they both have full recoveries. Anyone know what long term prognosis is for that type of injury for Trapillo. He had really been ascending. Presume this might mean he misses a chunk of next year too / impacts his ability to train.

I got bored and considering all the threads about firing people this week, I figured I'd take some time and give my opinion on what should be done with all of the coaches. Lovie Smith Head Coach- Over there years here, I have made it pretty clear that I hate his scheme and really just don't like him as a coach. That being said, I can't find a reason for him to lose his job, or think of a comparable firing in the NFL. I know Dungy was fired for not being able to get his team over the top, but Lovie did have this team in the Super Bowl a couple years ago and the team has been pretty successful since his tenure started here. TravD says: Keep Around B…

Drafted by the Cowboys at 30. Grew up about 15 miles from where I live and went high school five miles away at Big Foot High School. I stood about five feet from him on the field at Camp Randall. I hate Cowboys but I will be rooting for him. Peace

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/tre...ride?id=2552428 Seems like a worthy prospect. It appears he is quicker than Gentry but we'll see if he ever gets on the field. There is more film on him this preseason so Bears scouts have seen how much he's improved. Highlight catch.. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlig...-tre+mcbride%22 http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlig...-tre+mcbride%22 From the history bin... 09/05/16 - WR Tre McBride was waived Monday to make room for Marc Mariani. There is the chance that McBride could re-sign onto the Titans' practice squad.

This is from the WTF department: 3/25: Laquon Treadwell said that the Bengals, Browns, Bears and Cowboys have shown the most interest in him. - Read more at http://www.walterfootball.com/nflrumors/te...J3yVQJggMKyL.99 The only thing I can think is that the Bears are keeping open the option to trade Jeffrey. For this to work they'd have to get a high 1st Rd pick. Can also be a little strategy toward getting Jeffrey to sign the deal on the table. Anyone else got any ideas on why we'd waste time on this smoke screen?

He may not be getting much attention, but he is currently top 5 in tackles per game, is tied for the league lead in INTs with 4, has 1 sack, and a 67.2 Passer Rating against. For how bad the pash rush has been, he has been playing very solid in his new position.

I'm not sure where to fit this guy in on a draft board but he's starting to take the same path Haason Reddick did last year with a big rise up draft boards once the process started. Reddick was just 6'1" tall whereas Edmunds is listed at 6'5". That could put Edmunds in play for us at OLB. Like Leonard Floyd he was most often lined up as a LB off the line so in two games and some highlights I didn't see much film of him coming off the edge. When he does he shows some of the skills you want to see. I think he'll need to be stronger in his upper body to play there full time. Watching him play I think he could easily slot into the ILB role for us. If Fangio thi…

I sure do like what I see from Tremaine Edmunds. If he is in the middle, I think he can do a lot of things for us, and Fangio would know just how to use him. In zone defense, he'd be another Urlacher, and imagine how much more effective that would be when we arent in cover 2 all the time. In man, he clearly has the skills to stay with TEs and even slot receivers. In this day and age of college running QBs, he is a spy too. He has the speed and tackling ability to shut that down in a hurry. And hes long enough for pass rush and as sure an open field tackler as Ive ever seen. He would be an excellent chess piece for Fangio.

The Bears have developed a trend over the first three games that needs to end. We have started slow every game and seem to wake up around the second quarter going into the half and play better after halftime. We have gotten away with it twice and it bit us in the behind once. This goes mostly on the coaching as they don't seem prepared going in and the Bears are flat coming out of the gate and spend the rest of the game trying to match their opponent's intensity. But I also blame players who are supposed to be professionals, this is their job they should know that they need to bring the intensity from their end. Coaches can cultivate intensity but they can't manu…
