With the projected cap in 2022, it would be wise to extend ARob and Roquan now. Locked them both up long term, ARob is still only 27 and it is better to extend Roquan before he is an All-Pro selection. Thoughts?

William Moore, FS/SS, Missouri Height: 6-1. Weight: 227. Projected 40 Time: 4.45. Projected Round (2009): Top 20 Pick. 1/14/09: William Moore finished the season with 86 tackles, 6.5 TFL, six passes broken up and a pick-six. 12/14/08: William Moore compiled 83 tackles, 5.5 TFL and five passes broken up as a senior. An All-Big XII first-teamer, Moore has a shot to land in the top 15. 5/19/08: Looks to be a good fit at either safety position at the next level. William Moore had an incredible 2007 campaign, notching seven picks and qualifying as a second-team All-American. 2007: An interception machine and the leader of Missouri's defense. Voted…

Maclin's Out, Who Now? by WCG on Jan 22, 2009 7:38 AM CST An early look at the mock drafts had the Bears selecting Jeremy Maclin. Maclin hasn't done anything, but his name is making a Herculian rise up the boards. Kiper has him currently going at #7. So now that a majority of mocks have moved him up, who is the current favorites for the Bears pick? NFL New Draft 18. Chicago Bears: Darius Heyward-Bey, WR, MD The Bears defense is getting older but I think they go after a playmaking receiver to help their QB in the 2009 season. Bey is supposed to run in the 4.3’s in the 2009 NFL Draft Combine. He is ranked as my 3rd best WR in this 2009 NFL Mock Draf…

Michael Crabtree, Texas Tech Height: 6-3. Weight: 210. Projected 40 Time: 4.48. Projected Round (2009): Top 5 Pick. 1/6/09: Michael Crabtree has told reporters and coaches that he's declaring for the 2009 NFL Draft. This has always been a no-brainer; I don't think Crabtree has ever left the top eight selections in my 2009 NFL Mock Draft 1/4/09: So, is Michael Crabtree coming out? "I'm just going to make my decision after the bowl game," Crabtree said. "It will be easier for everybody. I know, but I'm not ready to say." If Crabtree goes, he's pretty much a top-five lock. Crabtree had 93 catches, 1,135 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2008. 10/19/08:…

I personally feel we need a subforum in here to separate college football and the draft from the Bears. I don't know about others, but when I click on this forum, I look for Bears and NFL news, and I think separating the two would be beneficial. Thoughts?

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...story?track=rss Cutler says he lobbied the Bears to acquire Marshall and believes the team will continue to pursue other receivers. "I don't think we're done at that position," Cutler said. "I think we definitely want to get another one. But it's just going to come down to whether someone is available and whether Phil and the rest of the crew feels like the value is there at whatever pick we're at or whether we can get the right price. I don't think we're going to be foolish with what we're trying to do. If we can get someone to help us out on offense, I think we'll grab him." Cutler said he talked Tuesday to …

I dont know about you guys but for me cutting R Davis and moving Bennet to his spot is a no brainer. Then you go and get Vincent Jackson and put him and DA on the outside WR spot and Hester,Knox and Bennett in the slot. We then shorten the 7 step drops to 3 with quick passes to the speedsters and make the D move back(as in the Dallas game). We then use our screen game!! We need a big WR for Cutler to throw to other than Olsen period!!!!! Moss, Jackson, anybody.

This new guy #19 should be on the field soon if the Bears are smart. We need the dep speed on both sides at WR not just Hester This would open up the middle of the field for Olsen and Clark not to say that we can throw deep to either him or Hester. http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80a40f15

But, let's take a look at how Sunday night's game will affect the NFC North standings. Now, if Chicago wins, the Vikings are in BIG trouble, as not only would Chicago have a one-game lead over the Purple, but they also will have swept the season series from the Vikings as well, meaning any tie between the two teams would go to Chicago. That would be a huge advantage for Da Bears, and would put a significant dent into any hopes that the Vikings would have of winning the NFC North. And, since this division sure as heck isn't getting any wild card teams, that would mean the Vikings would be sitting at home this January. However, assuming a Green Bay loss to Carolina.…

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill Report: Finnegan “recruiting” Vincent Jackson for possible package deal Posted by Evan Silva on March 8, 2012, 5:38 PM EST Getty ImagesJason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reports that free agent cornerback Cortland Finnegan is actively “recruiting” free agent wideout Vincent Jackson to join Finnegan on his next NFL team. Cole suspects that team is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Finnegan has reportedly been text messaging back and forth with Jackson. The Bucs certainly have the salary cap space to land both players, and Finnegan and Jackson play positions of need in Tampa. Bucs incumbent No. 1 receiver Mike …

CARDINALS SHOPPING BOLDIN Posted by Mike Florio on March 12, 2009, 3:59 p.m. Kurt Warner might get to keep his $2 million, after all. A league source tells us that the Arizona Cardinals are shopping receiver Anquan Boldin to potential trade partners. Warner recently has suggested that hed devote a portion of his salary to signing Boldin to a new contract. (We dont think Warner really means it.) Boldin, a six-year veteran, is signed through 2010. He has wanted for roughly a year a significant increase from his current range of $2.5 million to $3 million. With teammate Larry Fitzgerald at $10 million per year, Boldin is believed to want at least…

Looks like Denver is screwed up front and may be ready to entertain trying to pry some linemen away from other team. Quite frankly I believe there are too many DTs on the team. I think we need to act quick and send the big Toe over that way, even if its not an exhilarating haul in terms of draft picks. Between Melton and Okoye and Adams, you have a 3 man rotation. That doesnt even include Paea. On that note - if we knew Melton was going to be ready to start and that we would be picking up Okoye....we would have been much better off with OL in rounds 2 and 3 would we not? Ug.

Here's a topic - I think Pace should have signed Robinson to a long term deal. Of course I don't know what he was asking, but if it was fair market value, I think it was a mistake not to sign him and give Fields that receiver to grow with long term.

We can still make it to the playoffs just by a few things happening as listed below but we need to win these last two games! Scenarios that would put Bears in playoffs with a 10-6 record: *A Vikings loss and a Giants loss. *A Vikings loss and two Seahawks losses. *A Giants loss and two Seahawks losses. *A Vikings loss and neither the Redskins nor Cowboys win out. *Two Seahawks losses and neither the Redskins nor Cowboys win out. There are scenarios in which the Bears could get in with a 9-7 record: *Two losses by the Vikings, Giants and Cowboys. *Two losses by the Vikings, Giants and Redskins. *If the Vikings lose twice an…

LOVED the Jones signing. What's not to like? I'm pretty damn happy with everything we've done this off-season. We've resigned our own guys, cut dead weight, and hope to have their replacements: Archuletta gone, Draft Steltz Cut Moose, sign Booker Lose Berrian, get Lloyd Dump Miller, draft Williams Fire Benson, sign Jones For every action, there's been reaction. (ok, we're still looking for a 3rd string QB, but I suspect we'll find one soon enough) But we've yet to replace Ruben Brown. I wouldn't mind seeing St. Clair play LG, but to assume that Williams is actually ready to start at LT is a huge assumption. As for Metcalf, just about every year …
