The Bears are the sixth team in the last seven years to have failed to make the playoffs after losing the Super Bowl the year before. So how do we finish this disappointing season? I tried to include most of the top picks, even though most would be out of reach for the Bears with their current position. Which player would be the biggest upgrade over the current player? McFadden over Benson? Ryan over Grossman? Dorsey over DT2 rotation? Long/Clady over Miller? Sweed over Berrian? 10 choices was the max, so there may be other players that are not listed.

So the Seachikens finish the regular season with a loss to Atlanta. Now that is building momentum for the playoffs! Then again, they are IN the playoffs. But I don't think they are going anywhere but home after their first game.

Who would have thought that a Kyle Orton led Bear team with many missing key defensive players would of whooped the first place Green Bay Packers? The Bears got to examine Orton, Wolfe, Williams, McBride, Toeiana and Kennedy. What they learned IMO is that Orton can go into 2008 competing for the #1 spot but most likely claiming the #2. The Bears should sign Grossman and release Griese and spend a first day draft pick on a QB. Running back in 2008 will not see much change as long a Cedric Benson can come back 100% healthy. Bears move fan convention to Soldier Field, push back to June The Bears are moving the site of their annual fan convention to Soldier Field. The event, which was a sellout last spring for the first time, had been held at the Hilton and Towers since its inception. I have been looking for stats on WR dropped passes for 2007. The only link I have is for a site called sports.iwon.com where it gives the top 20 players in each conference. On that listing (use link above to view) it only shows D Clark of CHI in the top 20 with 6 drops (bad news since he does not get as many looks as many others on the list). What would be interesting is a listing of WRs showing drops in relation to looks, or in otherwords, the percentage of drops compared to receptions/catchable passes. How would Moose & Berrian compare to others around the league? I think we would be surprised to find they are no where near the leaders in this area.

The way I see it, there is only one certainty: Muhsin Muhammed has to either be cut, or take a backseat. Aside from that, here's what I think: -Bernard Berrian makes huge plays, and if the OL didn't stink, maybe the Bears could use more plays that utilize Berrian's speed. -Mark Bradley looks fast, big, strong, and confident every time he gets in the game. It's just too bad that he slept with Lovie's wife, or whatever the heck he did, because he simply can't get out of the doghouse. I'm looking for the video of Robbie Gould's horrible miss in 2005 vs. the Niners. Recall that it was the windiest game in NFL history, and he hit one that seemed to be 20-30 yards wide right.
