After running several mock drafts on Fanspeaks' premium over the past several weeks I just can not help trading back for more picks. The Bears just have to many needs to only have 6 picks. Admittedly, I don't watch college football accept for an occasional bowl game. I just don't have the time so I us this time of year to cram before the draft! Nobody on this board has discussed the possibility of going with a CB for the second year in a row. The reason I am throwing this scenario out there is that I feel that the elite Defensive players i.e. Williams, Gregory, Fowler will be gone before the number 7 pick. I was thinking the other day, "what would JA have done differently"? Trade 2 3rds for Marshall? Who wouldn't? Sign Bush? Yes Sign Campbell? No Sign veteran special teamers? That's in his wheelhouse. Draft McClellin? Maybe Trade up for Jeffery? Probably not Draft Hardin? Again his M.O. Draft Gonzalez? Probably not Draft 2 DB's with potential in the late rounds? No. He would have been slobbering over the measurables of the next Webb. Although they are not far off on methodology. Emery killed him with the Jeffery trade and Campbell signing. I'm just hoping the lack of OL attention will not come back to haunt. Again.

Steve Wyche on NFL Network keeps repeating that he believes the Bears will now focus on Abraham, Nicks and Winston.

We choked in the first game and got our ass kicked in the 2nd. Prior to the season beginning we had the discussion of how long it would take for the Ben Johnson team to take shape. Nobody on this board said it would be instant. We agreed it would be between week six and eight weeks before the offense would click. We never really discussed how long it would take the defense. Defense usually happens faster as but we have had a lot of injuries to hinder the process. Who predicted we would win the division? None of us. Caleb got better this week. That's all that counts.

In one hand the writer states the obvious in that Lovie, Angelo and crew are on the last straw and then he writes that he speculates (like many of you expressed concern) that the signing of Peppers may not work out. The one point in particular is how Robinson thinks that Peppers may not be the leader the Bears need but I ask what about Urlacher? I think he is the undisputed leader on Defense. And don't forget that there are players like Briggs, Tinoisamoa, Harris and Tillman still on the roster that really aren't all that shabby. …

Now at first most say this is only Fantasy Football, but on the other hand, there is some correlation between stats and points. The Bears offense positions finished no worse than #12 at TE, and Defense comes in at a respectable #14. By position: Cutler - 11th Forte - 5th Marshall - 5th Jeffery - 7th Bennett - 12th Gould - 10th Bears Def - 14th Forte, Marshall, and Jeffery all made the Top 20 overall as well. LOSERS: The Bears coaching staff The decision to squib the kickoff with 11 seconds remaining cost the Bears the game, plain and simple. What was with the soft zone in the secondary, allowing Michael Jenkins to catch a 26-yard pass to put Jason Elam in field-goal range? It's interesting to read and post about current players and potential new additions, but the coaching staff lifted my eyebrows more this year than any, and I've never been a Lovie fan...(but that's another story) Any rookies that have made an impact made it immediately. We haven't developed anyone. Our team was one of the least disciplined team on the field every week. And all this after the season of off-the-field incidents last year. It seems to me that the coaches are just Lovie's buddies, and not necessarily talented football coaches. With the exception of Toub, would any of these guys have a job outside of the Bears? I think not...

Year 2 QB - QBR Tracker Penix - 83.7 QBR - 298 yds, 1 TD, 1 sack, and 21 rushing yards. 319 Total Yards. Lost. Daniels - 55.1 QBR - 233 yds, 1 TD, 3 sacks, and 68 rushing yards. 301 Total Yards. Won. Maye - 39.3 QBR - 287 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT, 4 sacks, and 11 rushing yards. 298 Total Yards. Lost. Nix - 19.2 QBR - 176 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT, 1 sack, and 18 rushing yards + 1 fumble lost. 194 Total Yards.
