20+ plays already and it's not even halfway through the first quarter. I am fascinated by this at the NFL level.

IMHO this is what I think the Bears should do in the FA period if all possible. In the secondary Let M.Brown and McGowan go & get Sean Jones from Clev.and Asomugha from the Raiders Move Payne to SS and Vasher/Manning to the nickel DE see if Peppers is still there to Ogun WR get either C. Johnson. T.O or T.J. Hous, Bouldin or oneone to be the number one. Move Williams to LT, sign ST. Clair at LG move Buenning to RG and find someone to back up Tait Find a center in the draft...kruetz is getting old

This feels like a must-win against a bad team. Flus teams normally win against bad teams at home, so this should be a win and some false hope. Then the remainder of the schedule hits. If the team that has (not) shown up for the last two weeks plays the rest of the year out, the NE game may be the final win. SF is getting healthy and SEA is not terrible. I would not be surprised with a 5-12 or 6-11 end of season record. Obviously they can figure things out and a team like GB may rest starters in Week 18, so the Bears could eek out another win or two to get to 7 or 8 wins, but that seems like the absolute ceiling right now. I will go with Bears 24-13 as I…

ASHKUM brought this..... ....up yesterday, and I believe the response deserves it's own thread... After crunching numbers, Clayton is basically right. Once you add in the 4.8M needed for the draft, the Bears have 3.5M left. There's so much they can do as far as cuts and restructuring go though. Cutting Peppers ups that number to ~13.3 Cutting Bennett ups it to ~15.7 Cutting Bush ups it to 17.5 Cutting Podlesh ups it to 18.5 Then I think they'll extend BMarsh and they'll save at least 3M there bringing the total to ~21.5 If things play out they wa I said, 21.5 for free agents(remember I took draft money out), shoul…

On The Score 670 Warren Sapp said Marinelle and him were going to work with Tommie Harris starting right after the Super Bowl down in Florida. Maybe they can light a fire under him.

It's nice to hear the young Olinemen making progress. Here is some Q and A's from a Tice interview : http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears CHICAGO -- Chicago Bears offensive line coach Mike Tice spent some time Wednesday on the “Afternoon Saloon” on ESPN 1000 discussing some of the technical aspects of offensive line play, and they relate to the Bears for the upcoming season. Because Tice was so detailed in his responses to great questions from Carmen DeFalco, John Jurkovic and Harry Teinowitz, we decided to paraphrase the questions and transcribe the whole interview in a question-and-answer format so you can get the full gist of the offensive line coach’s…

Angelo loves to stock pile picks, and especially now when we have so many needs, I think it is even more logical. We are not a player away. Not even close. We have many needs, and FA is not offering much, at least not in long term solutions. Further, I look at what I believe Angelo is seeing as our top needs, and I am not sure if the positions matchup w/ where we draft. OT - Long and Clady are gone. I think Williams is gone too, but even if he is there, would we view him as value? After Clady, you have a sizable group of OL that would be considered solid value late 1st, but this high? QB - Though I have seen plenty of mocks w/ us taking Broham at…

I think the Bears like Matt Blanchard as the #3, but we still need a capable #2. I can't see us spending the money it would take to get (or being a very enticing landing spot for) fringe starters like Kolb, who is apparently soon to be released, or Fitzpatrick, who already has been. Campbell had his chance here. Remaining candidates include Byron Leftwich (probably not a great fit), Brady Quinn (I could see it), or Kellen Clemons (snore). Am I crazy to think the best remaining realistic FA option is (gasp!) Rex Grossman? Or maybe we just wait to see who gets released after the draft?

5-5 Bears at 7-3 Packers. The Packers just lost to Indy while the Bears won the bye week. I don't have a good feeling about this one. The offense is beyond repair. I expect it to be a 2-3 score deficit, Packers 31-17. The defense has to defend against too many short fields and Skrine gets exposed time and time again. Rinse and repeat.

After finally being able to sleep thru the night this week, I have come to a conclusion that we are in for a total ass raping this week. It more than likely wont be on the scoreboard because the Steelers just dont put up points like that, but if we looked that bad against a team running a defense for the 1st time, Pitt should make it worse. Just a few remarks Losing Clark is really going to hurt in my opinion as well, Davis appears to be just about useless in the passing game. If they shut down the run, It may yet be another pick-a-palooza and this time the crowd may riot. The Oline looked miserable on the inside. Omiyale is a total wash, maybe th…

I've been thinking about our OL almost exclusively, this off season. I'm thinking we have some highly tradeable talent on this roster that we can utilize to upgrade the OL. The reason I'm talking trade is because I want a rising player, not a cap cut or scrap heap player. Here's a look at our tradeable players. D. Manning - will not hurt us to be gone. Cap friendly for whoever may want him. R. Manning -Obviously already on the block. Cap friendly for us and may fill a huge need for a deprived team. A. Adams - Looking good for us, but we are deep. Cap friendly for both. I. Idonije - Again, we are deep. Buffalo still may want. Cap friendly again. A. Og…

Now that's 2007 is over and 2008 is here what do we do as far as our team goes on offense? Well I know what I would do if I was in charge. Starting with FA I would make a big push to upgrade the Oline. I would move Tait back to RT and try to land either Locklear from the Seahawks or Starks from the Steelers saying goodbye to Miller & Metcalf. At Guard we need to get Faneca and get rid of Garza Brown is old too. Draft a guard to fight it out with Beekman and maybe we could Draft either Otah from Pitt,Clady from Bosie State or Baker from USC and try them at guard. Now in the backfeild we need to get a guy who can run because Benson is just slow to the outside. Turner w…
