I still think the Bears will sign one of each, if not both, a notable at WR and/or OL. There are too many to ponder at both positions but something tells me that despite all the talk contrary, the Bears will sign a big bodied WR. And of those I have a feeling one of these will be it: Vincent Jackson, Braylon Edwards, Plaxico Burress or yes..I'll say it Randy Moss. I know the last two are troubling off camera but in both cases I think they are set to redeem themselves. And I have NEVER been a Moss fan but something tells me that he might just work out in Chicago.

I admit, I should just let things be and see how the chips fall, but dammit, there are deals out there being made and good guys flying off the market that we could have used! Right now, all we've done is sign a bunch of undrafted guys that'll probably amount to nothing and sign 2 draft picks that again will probablynot amount to nothing. No early round draft picks signed. No re-signing of guys or extendeding contract. No nothing in FA! Granted, it just started, but I want results now! ...sorry, had to just get that out. Just curious on your thoughts about Lovie's continous effort to go for it, and fail, on 4th & goal from the 1. I'm in the middle. They were down by 3 at the end of the 3rd and should've taken the points and tied it. They didn't and while the throw wasn't great, it was a ball Clark has to catch. Against the Lions they had 4 plays to get 20 inches and couldn't. Again I take the points but Lovie trusts his team can get such a short gain in 4 plays. On top of this, Forte needs to get his pads lower at the goal line. He's running too upright and is down at first contact by a player.

There is only one coach-GM tandem in Bear history that is more successful than Lovie and JA and that is Ditka and Finks. The problem is when Ditka was hired the "Ole Man" stepped in and stepped on Finks toes basically forcing Ditka down Finks' throat since Ditka as a Dallas assistant wrote a letter to Halas campaigning for the HC job. That made their time together only 2 years. The "Ole Man" also stepped on Ditka's toes by hiring the defensive coordinator(Buddy Ryan) before hiring the head coach. I just saw on the opening story of PTI that our old QB Kyle Orton doesn't care what the fans think of him and is glad that the fans don't make the decisions. He went on to add that the last thing he is trying to do is to win over the fans on the football field. He is, potentially, the starting QB of an NFL franchise there most likely is said face of the franchise. Do you think he crossed the line here? Thoughts?

They are reporting sources say Chester Taylor is gone. This was just reported on the Waddle and Silvy show and I'm waiting for an update from Jeff Dickerson who covers the Bears for this station.

It is obvious that the SF roster has more talent than ours does. We won today because the coaching ghost of Tony Dungy is haunting Halas Hall. Eburflus is an even better Lovie Smith. SF beat themselves with penalties, while we played clean. We worked for turnovers. We stayed with the running game LONG past the time when Nagy would have panicked, and many coaches would have gone into desperation mode. We kept our coverage rule breaking route combinations up our sleeve until the 4th quarter, kept it close and then played the cards Nagy would have tried in the first quarter. We are now over halfway through the first Poles season. For the most part, this is what was expected, especially after the trading deadline changes (Quinn, Smith). I know he was always going to get a free pass for the first couple of years, but how many free agent hits and draft hits does he have today? How many of those players are starters next year? If you brought in a league average free agent at a position, which Poles acquisition is starting over them? Brisker is the only one I can think of at this point. Not many people project a WR to us in the first round, but JSN is an interesting prospect. JSN projects to be a Cooper Kupp type of receiver, due to his physicality, short area quickness and great route running. I was listening to ESPN 1000 today and the hosts mentioned that the need for good receivers helps develop a QB better than a good OL. (I don't subscribe to that theory, but they made good argument) At this point, I don't see is going that route unless we trade back to get him in the mid teens. That would also mean we get our OL, DL, edge and BPA in the second and third rounds. Thoughts?
