  1. I was looking for your lol at the end.
  2. Jason I applaud your attempt to pull this off but if you choose to say screw it I can't make everyone happy I would applaud that even more. This board is based on everyone being able to express their opinion and that is one of the main reasons why I like your posts because it has been totally you. This thread is you being over the top accomadating. You still get some flack for that. I personally have liked all your mocks because how you approached each one and did the work. This to me is one of the best managed threads by its original poster I've seen in a long time. Kudos to you Jason, this is cool!
  3. Last Year was the first time that I went to Family Night at Soldier's Field and with my 2 grown sons was awesome but I prefer going to TC in Bourbonaiss because you can see clearly what they are working on formation-wise and the tempo they expect to play with. The temps can be a little brutal at 85 plus and no real shade and metal bleachers but if you plan properly with sun block (not me African American) and gatorade or powerade plus head coverage(cap or hat) the experience is much easier to navigate than parking downtown Chicago plus walking significant distance to the event.
  4. First he tweeted pictures of getting re-baptised and now this. Maybe Briggs and Marshall weren't the only problems in the lockerroom. The history of this position has trended to a guy who has numerous touches the previous season tend to wear down that very next season. Another factor to consider is that Forte has the same agent as MJD who also seems to have declined after numerous carries in Jax. This agent might be trying to strike now with the intent to help his client maximize his earning potential now but this is a big gamble for 2 reasons new staff on this team and a RB friendly draft and the de-valued look at RB league wide. I hate continuing to reference how long I have followed this team but Forte IMO is the smoothest RB that has ever played here sort of a combo of Payton and Sayers but his constant taking himself out of games drives me nuts because the two players I think he has traits of would never do that. If I'm Pace I play poker and call his bluff and I draft his potential replacement this year as well as Cutler's.
  5. Same here and I believe that we are definetly on the same page when it comes to this team. I also believe that building on the lines is the way to go but this is not our dads NFL. I agree with your constant calling for OL but this is a different ERA.
  6. Who cares about projected stats, when you you need to win games. I want Cooper as the 7th pick but if they have a chance to change the franchise with a pick then do it.
  7. He doesn't have you beat on this board because, without a doubt your passion for the Bears is obvious.
  8. Over the years we have had our differences but respect for your football opinions have never been one of them and through it all you have become one of the most respected posters I follow. This pick and your reasons is spot on.
  9. With Mike Mayock calling Mariotta the best qb in the draft it can only enhance the possibilities if he falls to 7. Mariotta is going to be the most controversial pick in the first round IMO. I personally would kick the tires on Mike Glennon at Tampa since Winston may be expected to play day 1.
  10. Nice draft and the heading for your topic makes being a grand pa even better. I don't miss late night feedings, diaper changes etc. and like watching my kids argue with their spouses over who changes the next pamper or rubs baby oragel over the sore gums.
  11. LSU CB Jalen Collins as a mid rd day 3 pick at 6-1 203 seems to fit a Fangio CB but needs to be coached up.
  12. I wonder if at that time if Mariotta is the highest rated player on their board, would they take him.If the choice came down to trading or drafting,I'm trading and if they could get a 1st and 2nd then I'm happy.Another pick would be needed to seal the deal though like a 2nd or 3rd next year. Names like La'el Collins,Devante Parker, Randy Gregory,Malcolm,Brown,Alvin Dupree and Landon Collins could all be in play at that pick.
  13. We had Tebow in camp before he was just under a different name,Jordon Lynch.Josh McDanials made a bad pick reacting to getting rid of Cutler and losing out on Cassel. The rest of his 2010 draft was excellent.Thomas,Decker,Beadles and Cox all were drafted that year and with them having a need at NT they passed on Dan Williams and took Tebow with Orton as the starter knowing that he was going to need mechanics work and grooming.Of all the QBs taken in the 2010 draft only 2 are currently on a roster and thats Bradford and Jimmy Claussen. The only other 2 QBs that actually saw game action from that draft are John Skelton and Joe Webb. That was a bad QB class and he was one of them.
  14. The only thing that bothers me about Shaq is the same thing that bothers me about Gregory.Projecting how they will be with added weight and stepping up to the highest level of play. That is a lot to project. Kendricks IMO is ready to go now and I believe will be a wrecking ball in the middle of someone's defense.

    Goodbye Peanut

49 years of watching Bears football this is by far the best cornerback I watched on this team and think he may get some HOF consideration with his niche' that in some ways changed the game,"The Peanut Punch".During a 5 year span no ball carrier was safe from him stripping the ball away.Off the field one of the most approachable Bears of all time and his charitable work unparralled. That is the guy that will be missed and that is the guy I am saluting. WTBS Tillman has not played for this team for almost 2 seasons for a reocurring injury.I personally believe that with his style of play and that recent injury that he should move to the next phase of his life because he is not going to change the way he plays and I hope when he gets to TC in Carolina he feels so uncomfortable that he retires. Either way I wish Tillman well and hope he continues to be a good human being.
  16. I'm still a Hundley fan and if he is drafted in the 3rd or 4th I wouldn't be mad because I'm a big proponent of having Cutler's replacement/potential replacement on the roster this year. Someone drafted in the 6th or 7th rd will not have the same affect on Cutler who has never had a young draft choice in the wings to add pressure to him ever. If by some chance Cutler changes his penchant for throwing to other jerseys and holding the ball longer than needed then the young QB can be groomed properly and won't have to see the field this year. The OC of this team has been a part of the process that chose Tebow over Orton in Denver.
  17. Mike Singletary was a 2nd round pick in 1981 which is 34 years ago! He also played in a 4-3 at MLB with a HOF DT in front of him. I don't understand why he was brought up. I have actually stood next to Singletary and saying that he was 6'0 was very generous since I'm the same height and he was shorter than I.
  18. No you're not.I just have a feeling that he is going late round 1. If he falls to the Bears pick at 39 and they pass I would be pissed.
  19. Last year the first safety went at 18 then 3 others fallowed from 21 thru 30.The previous draft 2013 15,18 and 32. 2012 the first safety came off the board at 48. 2010 was the last time a safety was drafted in the top 10 and that was Eric Berry. 9 picks later Earl Thomas was selected and imo Landon Collins is not in the same category as those 2 were coming out. Notice that I have no reference from 2011 because that year no one drafted was listed as a safety. They were either a CB or DB. Clearly this position is going the same route as the RB. Teams are more inclined to use a 3rd CB instead of the traditional safety.
  20. So am I. You can't go by that philosophy anymore because there is FA now and back then you were bound to one team only. That was the same era when a starting SS and DE was out for a whole year in a contract dispute and missed the SB year then signed the following year with the same team because they had no other options. This allowed the Bears to move Hampton to DE and Start Fridge at DT after Ryan reluctantly did so taking Hartenstine out of the lineup. I personally don't like taking a NT at 7 unless he is going to be a can't miss player and he is going to be a 3 down player. All indications are that we are not going to be in the base D enough to justify having a 1st rdr at 7 standing on the sidelines for most of the game. That's why if they go defender without trading back I prefer the top CB on the board or 1 of the 2 WRs.
  21. Last year this team played guys named Groy and Ola on the OL as starters. This should be taken into consideration when assessing the OL's play last year. When all the guys were healthy the year before the only hit Cutler would take was when he would hold the ball longer than he should have. That is his make up for most of his career and an OL can only protect so long. Then factor in injuries to his top two WRs a couple of games and now we are looking at exactly what happened during the season. Garza just got launched I wonder if through tape review this new staff felt he was not making the proper line adjustments. The only guy left from the awful lines of JA and Lovie was Garza and I believe the lines lack of performance can be tied to Garza. I personally wanted him replaced 2 years ago but they felt he was still serviceable. Jason I'm a big fan of former GM Jim Finks who built the 85 Bears on both lines with 1st rd draft picks and that philosophy has not happened in the last 20 years until they took Mills and long in the same draft. Just think the 83 draft Covert, Thayer and Bortz all in the same draft. Now we're lucky if we get 2 OL picked in 1 draft.

TT my thinking is that Ego is a future NT going forward and Ratliff is one and done so we need depth because most 3-4 teams play more than one guy at the nose.

My 2nd rdr was a choice between Jake Fisher, Sammy Coates, Jordon Phillips, Brett Hundley and AJ Cann I chose Phillips at 39 because of value and need at the pick.

This mock was based on CBS nfldraftscout.com's prospect rankings and my opinion that Ducasse may be at OG and Long going to OT. This will help the line and then turn Mills into a backup OT.
