  1. The judge overturned his suspension. So if his suspension has been overturned, what is his status?
  2. Adrian Petersen has been reinstated by the NFL
  3. In an attempt o cretae cap space for Suh the Lions cut Reggie Bush.
  4. So does that mean they are miss cast as college players or are they projects when they reach the NFL?
  5. That went out the window for me when guys like Elijah Pitts and Bob Hyland came here from the north and Jim McMahon, Steve McMichael and Anthony Morgon went there.

    Shelton at Combine

Sc not trying to diss you! When I said screw the game tape its because of the fact I'm not to familiar with the 3/4 or what Fangio really does or the size of the guys he likes. You have to understand that a 3/4 is culture shock for those of us who think Bear defense and 4-3! Sopoaga and Dorsey are both much lighter than Shelton and the only person he should be compared to is Vince Wilfork and when was he drafted? Not at 7. When he was in the discussion for being drafted in the first round it was him and Tommie Harris and the 3 tech went 14 not 7. we currently sit at the 7th position in the 1st round and no matter how much you and I debate Shelton he is not worthy of the 7th pick of the draft no matter what you and I think.

Screw the game tape of Shelton check the numbers and the size of Fangio's NTs over his career at SF and tell me if Shelton is the prototype.
  8. Exactly which is the very reason why I don't like the 3/4 because of the uncertainty of a player flourishing in it. Everyone continues to chase LT when that was a once in a lifetime player who made that scheme work similar to how Michael Jordon made Phil Jackson's Triangle Offense work. Bill Belicick has made a name for himsel for the 3/4 defense but without LT he doesn't get this lofty staus he enjoys as Tom Brady continues to make him stay on that loft.

Michael Haynes was the MVP of the Senior Bowl and what's he doing now? The Bears drafted him in the first and he never amounted to much. The SENIOR bowl excludes underclassmen who might be able to out shine some of those invitees. Also at the Senior Bowl is he going up against Dominick Raola or the other centers in the NFC North. When we project players for this team we have to think how they would fare against the competition they would face during the upcoming season. You are expecting this kid to come in and dominate seasoned NFL centers based on his performance at the Senior Bowl?
  10. Agreed but this is your opp to say who you think they should target I gave only my oppinion. Who I think they should talk too not sign.
  11. Right there with you on Kendricks but I still like Perryman, I think he has that Ray Lewis factor.

    Shelton at Combine

Did you see that at the Combine? This is where it can be showcased for the world.Stamina aginst PAC 12 opponents is not the same as the NFL. You seem to be a numbers guy so are you ignoring the fact that he had a les than stellar workout when he had so much time to prepare for it? Shelton is not someone I want on this team and hope they pass on him AT 7.
  13. I'm asking everyone to chime in on who you would like the Bears to talk to during the begininng of FA to give you a better idea what type of player they are targeting. 1st Peyton Hillis I think he has Denver ties and he can line up as a FB which I believe was a down fall of the last coaching staff when they thought that they could get the job done on lead blocks with Rosario. 2nd choice is Julius Thomas This is a guy that I think might be what is needed to get the offense back on track because of his redzone capabilities and the fact that with him and Marty B on the field together matchup nightmares. 3rd is Terrance Knighton another Denver Fox tie that just makes sense if you need a guy in the middle to be a leader and anchor your new scheme. 4 Devin McCourty for obvious reasons we have had no presence in the middle of the secondary since Mike Brown lets see what he is asking for. 5 Torrey Smith lets see Marshall, Jeffrey and Smith. That sounds wonderful 6 Mike Iupati I shift Slauson to the RG spot Long to RT and Mills to the bench. 7Randall Cobb no expalanation needed even if it makes GB pay more win win. 8 Jacoby Jones as a returnman and if we need a 5th WR. 9 Jared Odrick an experienced DT that could come in and provide competition at NT and 5 tech. 10 Brandon Flowers if Peanut is Hell bent on trying to play elsewhere then you need a guy in place who can continue to mentor Fuller that has seen a few things in his career.
  14. This franchise just gave 2 years of money to DJ Williams, Lance Briggs and Peanut Tillman for not much play on the field why not take a flyer on this guy who knows the scheme and more importantly the division? Invite him to camp with a non guaranteed deal.
  15. Washington continues to be under construction and a work in progress. Now he has to learn a new scheme and terminology. We have seen these combo/hybrid guys fro UGA crash and burn before. IIRC Jelani Jones is a recent example.

    Shelton at Combine

Thanks AG,last year I gushed over the DT at South Carolina named Quarles because I thought that alot of Clowneys production was based on the dirty work that this kid did inside during the games I watched. I'm starting to believe that the more hyped these Hybrid pass rushers are the more I think you should avoid them early in the draft. We thought Clowney and Watt would be a nightmare for coordinators but we still see Melvin Ingram struggling as well Quarles and Clowney. Can't remeber the CB from that same defense that is not a household name yet but I feel that the player who has had the most success recently from that program was Alshon and he had more question marks than anyone of those guys. My point about Shelton is stamina. Fangio is a rotational type of DC but expects his guys to go balls out while on the field. Thats not what Shelton showed this weekend.

I suggested Forte in the trade but only tongue in cheek. Matt Forte is 30 but has not had the normal wear and tear of most running backs in this league because he takes himself out of games when he feels winded and doesn't take mega hits that often IMO he is the third best back in Bears history behind Walter Payton and Gayle Sayers. It would be great to see him end his career as a Bear like the others did.
  18. I give you Alonzo Spellman as your evidence counselor to back up your argument.
  19. Jason nice 3 round mock but you need to verify where you're trading back to to make the Collins pick not iffy. In my dream draft scenario we trade back with Cleveland and get their 2 1st rounders and go Collins and best CB available. Your scenario creates an emphasis on them resigning Paea and utilizing the young talent and guaranteed money already on the books.
  20. Unless we are targeting a ILB in the draft I say why not kick the tires on this guy for two reasons. He has experience in the scheme the team is switching to and knowledge of their arch-rivals scheme and two who do we have on the roster that is better than he is in the scheme?

Baltimore does need a RB but this is a well run organization and they are not going to get fleeced.
  22. No diss to anyones opinion but, Mariani? Why so much love for a bottom of the roster guy who spent a lot of time in the trainers' room prior to coming here. We just had arguably the greatest returnman in NFL history here and Mariani is not even on the same planet.

So you noticed where I'm going. Most of the time the guys who are 3/4 DTs float around to different teams.

The Ravens have also been burned by the Bears in the past and may be reluctant to do a deal unless Matt Forte gets thrown in the mix.
  25. Hopefully he is hearing all this crap and has a bug up his ass. Back in the day on another board the debate was Tommie Harris or Vince Wolfork at 14. We took Harris and ignored the medical red flags while Wilfork is still playing at a decent level.
