  1. Stinger I generally agree with you on most fronts and thisis no different but, we have been duped so much since Jerry Vanisi was fired that its hard to not have skepticism.
  2. Couldn't see the instagram link but for those who believe what Forte believes getting re-Baptized is reaffirming your current beliefs. He may have felt he got off track and this is only to rededicate himself to his faith. Generally players reassess themselves during the off season when they get family time.
  3. You know I'm not that stupid and I was just refereshing everyone one some of the tidbits that came from the press conference. From this point going forward I'm going to hold on to every word these guys say so I can praise them or bust their chops.

    2 for 1

Like you I have that NE paranoia Ty Law, Wes Welker,Richard Seymour, Logan Mankins as well as Merriweather come to mind. Not really sure how the Law firm is doing in Cinci but he's not setting the world on fire. McCourty OTOH has that safety that used to be a CB on his resume and would be very attractive to DCs that want to be able to disguise coverages and use him in his former capacity.
  5. He is the greatest in history and should take his place in Bears lore by signing for one year to continue to mentor Fuller and whoever they draft plus become an ambassador for the team. I was reluctant to give him that title for my fondness for 63 CB Rosey Taylor but Tillman ranks with Gary Fencik in my eyes as the top 2 DBs in my lifetime. Conte might have to follow Hunter Hillenmeyer and now Nick Roach as guys who need to polish up there resumes because of concussion issues.
  6. Every year I get worked up over a WR in the draft and a few here will vouch for me gushing over Alshon Jeffrey in college and this year its Cooper. When I saw this kid play in a game, I felt I was watching a game changer. This is what the Bears need on both sides of the ball. I was a big Randall Cobb fan when he was coming out of Kentucky and if you can get him after he has cut his teeth great. My enthusiasm is tempered until I see who comes here to talk starting today. That will give us some insight into what direction they are going. It would be hippocritical if in your opening presser you say you believe in building a team through the draft and then you make a big splash in FA. I believe they will try and coach up all the young draftees still on th roster and only sign stop gap type FAs.
  7. Wow this thread is going all over the place. Names like Kreutz( he of the crack a teammates jaw at a shooting range) and Urlacher(the wedlock chidl maker) are being bandied about as leaders to straighten out Marshall and shut him up. Marshall and those two are the same in terms of demeanor the only difference is they both got take it or leave it offers and Marshall got traded. To be honest I was more upset when they traded Marty Booker for Adawale Ogunleye than I am now and actually I'm not upset at all. This is just a game I love to watch and not life or death.
  8. ESPN Bears beat reporter Jeff Dickerson swears that there were a lot of people in the building that really wanted Marshall gone and not just some of the players but staff members and office people. He seems very similar to Musin Mohhammed to me who also was cultivating his after football interests.
  9. Whats worse Marshall trade or McCoy trade? I thought that was insane. This trade is not as bad IMO.
  10. Lets see Marshall once was a player coached by new OC Gase in Denver as his position coach. Could it be that he may not want to deal with Marshall? Yes Marshall is talented but his talent has never resulted in a playoff berth for any of the 3 teams that he has played for. Cutler at least has done that. Marshal has had 2 hip surgeries and broken ribs and though he is only turning 30 he takes a lot of hits and has taken quite a few since coming here.I've been watching this team for 50 years and if you think this is bad you should have watched them in the 60's when the old man was running things. Every time a new regime comes to any franchise they get rid of players that they don't want and bring in their own guys. Angelo did it and Emery did it as well. This doesn't surprise me.
  11. It has Shelton going to the Skins at 5 and has a 5 round project of: 1 Dante Fowler DE/OLB 2 Bryon Jones CB 3 AJ Cann G 4 Joe Mbu NT 5 no pick This is a very different mock from previous ones whic leads me to believe that there's some whispers as to who the Bears may be targeting in FA.
  12. I wish the thinking was Hartline, Marshall and Jeffrey. You can put Marshall in the slot and Jeffrey and Hartline on the outside.I still think they need to add a quick twitch guy or a speed guy to the mix in a 4 WR set.
  13. How so many on this board seem to think they have a handle on what this new regime is going to? We have to mesh guys from 3 different organizations just to form our offensive and defnsive schemes. We have no draft history on our FIRST TIME GM and his working reklationship with our NEW HEAD COACH and his coordinators. So tell me why do you think you know what this group is going to do on personnel moves etc.
  14. That almost sounds like that baseball crap which means they have control for ex amount of years. Not knowing the time he has in the league and the paramiters of the CBA I guess this is not an avenue to travel down.
  15. Allegedly one of the reasons that Sutton dropped is because during his last season in college he picked up weight and they felt his production dropped(scouts that is). So we wind up drafting Ferguson with raw potential and Sutton who was a scheme fit dream. Now all that is out the window unless they can coach all these young guys up and play the hybrid of all hbrid 3/4 schemes.
  16. lol! You know what I meant and that is structuring an RFAs contract that makes it difficult to match and they just let him go and take whatever compensation is due.
  17. Thats a good thing because he was looking good in preseason and remember there was a short time tha Marty B had to take a timeout.
  18. With them franchising D Thomas maybe there is a poison pill contract that could make it happen.

    Brian Hartline?

Tecnically and realisticly both Marshall and Jeffrey are " Possession WRs" the difference between them and Hartline is size.n We need a slot guy who can stretch the defense if both the current WRs remain on the team and a tremendous upgrade by someone else on the current roster if we are going to avoid drafting another guy to develop.
  20. With a decision due on guaranteeing his 2016 salary coming soon you will know if Gase and Fox are willing to tie themselves to Cutler beyond this year.
  21. What did Bruce Irvin weigh at the Combine? He ran a ridiculous 40 for a DE/OLB and seems to be doing well in Seattle as well as managing his charcter issues that were the talk before he was drafted.
  22. Gone for a couple of days and had to reread the thread. I was wondering about how big Fangio's NTs were and if I'm not mistaken Ricky Jean-Francois(sp?) was a draft pick of the 9ers for that position as well. If that is the case then we can't totally rule out resigning Paea who played the position in college. As for Perryman, I agree he is not the most athletic guy on the field but the way he reacted and anticipated plays in the Hurricanes bowl game is what convinced me that he is going to be a goood ILB in the NFL.
  23. I like the thought of this guy being on the Bears radar which would not seem as a threat to Cutler but, I also like the thought of telling him its now or never for next year with a more recognizable prospect who comes from a major program like a Brett Hundley or Bryce Petty.
  24. I forgot about this guy and if he is healthy he can fill the spot that I was looking for to complement Bennett.
