  2. 3. Last year Poles drafted 2 DBs with his first 2 picks and that was unexpected. He then took somewhat of a gadget player with his 3rd pick. I'm clearly in a fog as to what he might do. This GM turned 5 picks last year into 11. I expect the unexpected.

    Rodgers to Jets

One Bears history nugget , Waymond Bryant sacked Joe Namath as a Ram and ended his career.
  5. If vets get released after FA they are free to go wherever they feel they fit. The only players the Bears could claim are those placed on waivers like with Leatherwood. this is why they had to assume his contract. As you can see Pole is not afraid to do this.
  6. Two Georgia Bulldogs we drafted had a little success with is Kevin Butler and Wille McClendon. I dismiss anything that happened during the Nagy tenure for offensive players and Leonard Floyd seems to be doing okay in LA and obviously Roquan is liked in Baltimore.
  7. The idiot that started all of this trade crap is former Dolphins and Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum and mind you he's a former GM for a reason. He is the idiot who traded for an aging Brett Farve. He started this on ESPN's Get Up saying the Bears should trade Justin Fields and draft Bryce Young. Now I see why he got fired twice. I for one want Poles to continue to build up this roster while he has a qb on a rookie deal before he has to decide to pick up the fifth year option and also lets see what he can do in his second year in this offense. If there is not significant improvement then find his replacement and I am not opposed to the Bears using a mid round pick on a QB. For example if Hendon Hooker is available in round 4 I would do that in a heartbeat. He would have to heal up but, I like the idea of getting an upgrade to what is currently in house in the QB room.
  8. Right now the Bears have 4 players that have taken OC snaps. Whitehair, Mustipher, Patrick and Kramer the rookie who was on IR the whole season. At least 3 of those guys could be on the roster next year. So I'm not sure OC will be a top priority this offseason.
  9. Mongo I am a big fan of you and your posts! Neither one of these QBs is better than the QB we currently have.

The one thing that Monty brought to the table that Herbert, Ebner and a draft pick won't bring is blitz pick up. Monty got hurt this year doing it but, Fields got the throw off. TBS the mocks having us taking Chase Brown mid rounds is okay with me because he is a similar runner to Monty and cheaper.
  11. Will Anderson in the last game I saw him play was holding back IMO. Jalen Carter in the first playoff game against OSU was ineffective because OSU doubled and triple teamed him most of the game but, in the TCU game he was an inside pressure presence. I'm leary of making negative comments about this prospect because he reminds me of Warren Sapp who had mysterious red flags about his character. The Georgia program has produced some pretty decent football players with character and this kid is back by his teammates.
  12. Exactly my thoughts AB! Fields is still on his rookie deal and that gives the GM basically 2 off seasons to build before deciding on the 5th year option but, if there is not significant improvement in the passing game move on from Fields. I also like the thought of doing what the Niners did and take a 4 year starter or even a 5th year senior as a developmental prospect. I'm thinking Bennett, Hooker and the Minnesota QB who's name I can't remember that are all the same age as Fields.
  13. I have followed the draft long before social media but, this year is completely different. Every Blog I have clicked on several so called Bear fans are saying trade Fields and draft Bryce Young. First of all this QB would be like Tua in game 1 and why are these fans not thinking, we have a qb on a rookie deal, lets build the team and see who our QB is! Seeing all posts and comments on the Blogs and Posts has me drained right now!

I'm just wondering, Poles drafted an OC from Illinois named Kramer and he spent the entire year on IR. I'm wondering if he is in the mix next season. If you look at Tevin Jenkins' injury history he cannot be considered reliable. The kid that basically sat out this year Carter (Poles draft pick) is he in the mix next year?
  15. I liked Roquan but, it was obvious he would not except the discipline of this defense. The plays he made were him freelancing which is why he got traded. Good luck Ravens trying to sign your QB.
  16. Adam if the Bears and Texans tied the Bears would have picked 2nd because they beat the Texans head to head.
  17. So if you follow the series of A Football Life is there any other non hall of fame player featured? IMO I believe that Calvin Johnson and Edgerrin James are not HOF players.
  18. We were in this position in 2017. To say we won't be in this position again is unrealistic. In 2017 we had the 3rd pick and traded up for Trubisky.
  19. Julian Edelman was a solid NFL player but, does he deserve a NFL documentary before Hester?
  20. There's an outside chance the Bears get the first pick but, they need help from the Texans. Not happening. So with the 2nd pick What you are doing?
  21. They seem to be still in the hunt with UDFA Purdy playing QB and its only Karma that they get fleeced on a trade up for a QB in the draft after they got Pace the same way.
  22. All but 2 of Poles 11 picks have received playing time this season. Carter and Kramer both interior OL. The last to receive playing time is Hicks. This is not counting UDFAs that have received playing time, Sanborn, Jones and Blackwell. FAs Jones has been up and down. Mohamed (sp?) has been nonexistent. Morrow is actually playing above expectations IMO. The entire WR group brought in via FA and trade has been a big disappointment. The OL FA acquisitions have been meh. The hold overs Whitehair, Borom, Mustipher and Jenkins should not be starters next season. I know that Jenkins has grade well per analytics when he has been available to play but availability is the problem. The in-season trades have been the most scrutinized part of this season. The defense has been a source of frustration for fans but, the trades plus the injuries exposed the lack of experience and depth. What do you do with Eddie Jackson? I say bring him back. Brisker, Gordon(outside) and Jaylon Johnson(Trade candidate) are a base but, a FA and draft pick needs to be added to the mix. We played a few games without Johnson and he doesn't create turnovers, which is why I think he could be a trade candidate. This offseason will put Poles in the national spotlight.
  23. The fact that he had to be asked again points to Special Teams Coach. This coach has made questionable decisions all season long.
  24. I believe Leatherwood needs to be moved inside because he is struggling against speed rushers. The Bears are on the hook for his rookie contract, so they need to exhaust every possibility to develop him. This is a first rounder that his team discarded.
  25. I think both Washington and NO could be in need also.
