  1. So if you follow the series of A Football Life is there any other non hall of fame player featured? IMO I believe that Calvin Johnson and Edgerrin James are not HOF players.
  2. We were in this position in 2017. To say we won't be in this position again is unrealistic. In 2017 we had the 3rd pick and traded up for Trubisky.
  3. Julian Edelman was a solid NFL player but, does he deserve a NFL documentary before Hester?
  4. There's an outside chance the Bears get the first pick but, they need help from the Texans. Not happening. So with the 2nd pick What you are doing?
  5. They seem to be still in the hunt with UDFA Purdy playing QB and its only Karma that they get fleeced on a trade up for a QB in the draft after they got Pace the same way.
  6. All but 2 of Poles 11 picks have received playing time this season. Carter and Kramer both interior OL. The last to receive playing time is Hicks. This is not counting UDFAs that have received playing time, Sanborn, Jones and Blackwell. FAs Jones has been up and down. Mohamed (sp?) has been nonexistent. Morrow is actually playing above expectations IMO. The entire WR group brought in via FA and trade has been a big disappointment. The OL FA acquisitions have been meh. The hold overs Whitehair, Borom, Mustipher and Jenkins should not be starters next season. I know that Jenkins has grade well per analytics when he has been available to play but availability is the problem. The in-season trades have been the most scrutinized part of this season. The defense has been a source of frustration for fans but, the trades plus the injuries exposed the lack of experience and depth. What do you do with Eddie Jackson? I say bring him back. Brisker, Gordon(outside) and Jaylon Johnson(Trade candidate) are a base but, a FA and draft pick needs to be added to the mix. We played a few games without Johnson and he doesn't create turnovers, which is why I think he could be a trade candidate. This offseason will put Poles in the national spotlight.
  7. The fact that he had to be asked again points to Special Teams Coach. This coach has made questionable decisions all season long.
  8. I believe Leatherwood needs to be moved inside because he is struggling against speed rushers. The Bears are on the hook for his rookie contract, so they need to exhaust every possibility to develop him. This is a first rounder that his team discarded.
  9. I think both Washington and NO could be in need also.
  10. The defense actually rose to the occasion and Fields can make Chicken salad out of Chicken poop. I'm watching him take the snap and Cody Whitehair continuously whiff on the outside in stunts that the Eagles kept running. Leatherwood is not an OT. Try him at LG and tell Whitehair you're moving in another direction. Jaylon Johnson is a top CB.
  11. Agreed! Seeing him shying away from that FGA was disturbing. Our special teams have made critical mistakes in most of the one score losses. Chris Dunn of NC State and Jake Moody should be targets in the draft for Poles. The last 2 Groza Award winners. Moody kicked in the Midwest at Michigan.
  12. Agreed and the other thing he has improved on, is looking to pass before running. He has made some nice completions on the run in recent games.
  13. You got this wish! Come on Broncos!
  14. Baker Mayfield helped the Bears chances for a top 3 pick better.
  15. I'm wondering how many on this board were around when Mugsy Halas hired Jim Finks because this seems eerily similar. He came into a similar mess and built from the ground up. Of course the NFL is a lot different now but, I'm getting a similar vibe right now. Finks was awesome as GM and drafted a few HOF players. The one move he made that I didn't like was a first round pick for Mike Phipps. Regardless he built the Bears into a Super Bowl contender with great drafting. Ryan Poles has an opportunity to do it even better and faster so we as fans need to see what he can do. This year was on the fly!
  16. Currently the Bears are in the 2nd draft position which is the highest they have been pre trade since their 1969 1-13 season. That is Will Anderson and Jalen Carter territory. A king's ransom can be had though if a QB needy team with draft capital wants to move up. Pittsburgh is now a 4 win team. This hands down is going to be one of the most interesting off seasons since I have been on this board.
  17. Backing up the thought that you don't pay off ball LBs big money is ringing true in Leonard's case.
  18. Expect the Lions to go after Vildor as all teams do and Jaylon Johnson was targeted with success a few times last week. Against Tua in the middle of the 3rd Qtr , the defense got him off of his spot a few times resulting in incompletions. Against Goff, who has played here before when the weather wasn't idea, they need to come after him because he is not a threat to run. That will be accomplished by pressuring him up the middle
  19. Supposedly he has been a team consultant for a while Also he is real friendly with Irsay. Maybe if you draft a guy and develop him like Manning and Luck, we are not talking about this.
  20. I've been around long enough to have seen the legendary QB Bobby Douglass ( who held the single season rushing record for a QB when he played) and I saw the guy that he truly reminds me of and that's former Bears/ Raiders QB Vince Evans. Evans was a draft pick by Jim Finks in the (6th or 7th round?) out of USC. He was a scrambling QB with a strong arm that I remember playing in one of the most physical Thanksgiving games ever between the Bears and Cowboys. The year was 1979 and Evans was the Bears starting QB at the time and he stuck around long enough to be the guy to throw Willie Gault's first TD reception of 57 yards against the Colts at Soldier Field in 1983. The comparison is the athletic ability and his toughness, In the game I mentioned above, Evans was getting hit hard and by the end of the game, he was limping up to center. That's who Field's is.
  21. I'm all in for Clemson DT Bresee at a top 15 pick but, with the Colts in a flux, is De Forest Buckner available? He played for Eberflus.
  22. There is a part of me that thinks Velus Jones Jr might be used going forward like Deebo Samuel or Cordarelle Patterson. Maybe even switched to RB.
  23. I'm looking at Breesee from Clemson as someone who could help on the defensive line.
  24. If you follow Sports Mockery a lot of the posters refuse to acknowledge Fields improvement and say well we didn't win. SMH
