  1. I'm right there with you. He is almost starting to become whiny. Do your job and keep your mouth shut and the media will do the talking for you. It happened for Lovie and it happened for Jauron while under this same jerk GM.

    I'm back

I will never question your motives or loyalty to this board and if in your own judgement you needed a break then you deserve it. Welcome back.
  3. If Martz is calling plays in the booth and Cutler is on the field saying anything, who would it be directed to? I believe one of the players or coaches at field level. Now what I did see was Cutler giving it to Sazenbacher coming off the field after he dropped a pass on a 3rd down. That is something I like in a QB.
  4. I disagree with the coaching grade it should be no higher than a B because when the game was clearly decided in the 4th qtr Cutler was still passing the ball before coming out of the game for Hanie.
  5. Since it seems that quite a few WRs have struggled to learn this Martz offense , I would pass and maybe address something during the offseason after I addressed the O-line and maybe turn some of the current starters into quality depth.I'm still not sold on this group as long as we continue to run this style of offense.
  6. I understand your last point but in two of the games prior to the Bears game the Vikings blew leads to Detroit and San Diego. Both games in the second half. Before the game the Bears defense was ranked near the bottom also and rose up for a divisional opponent. In fact the way the Vikings played resembled how the Bears played vs GB,Det and NO. False starts on 4th and 1 after a timeout, dropped passes on 3rd down looked very similar to how the Bears played in those games. Allowing Hester to get behind the defense was very similar to the mistakes the Bears have been making all year.
  7. Sad thing is I type so slow that I should never misspell anything.lol
  8. Finally this team played a solid offensive game. Coming away with TDs in the redzone makes a big difference. On defense making Minn one dimensional put the game in McNabb's hands and as you can see he is struggling to get them in the endzone on sustained drives. Can someone tell me why a division opponent continues to kick the ball to Hester especially at Soldier Field.
  9. Wow I was being sincere and if I'm looking at the computer or going to the fridge for another brew I missed the graphic. I was thanking you because it was the second time I posted the incorrect spelling. If I wanted to be considered the president of someone's fan club I should know how to correctly spell his name, no sarcasm intended thats not my thing. Every year I pick a college player and gush over him until draft time. Last year it was Nick Fairly. The year before that it was Suh and I wouldn't dare try to spell his whole name even though I've seen it numerous times.
  10. Thank You I stand corrected and I basically posting while I'm watching the game on the SEC network and the analyst keeps pronouncing his name wrong and I like a moron didn't visit my favorite site for the correct spelling.
  11. per the Trib Mike Brown expresses his views
  12. The last rumors I heard yesterday were that the Bears were considering moving Melton back outside to end and start Omobi Okoye inside.
  13. Charlie Weis isn't that successful at Florida right now either. Some pro assistants are not suited for the college game as you stated he sucked at ND flourished at KC and now is not setting the world on fire in Gainesville. The same can be said for Wannstedt. He sucked as Pitt's HC and guess who is Buffalo's DC? The same also can be said that some college coaches should never leave their comfort zone for the pro game. Look how quickly a lot of them bolt after a short time. There are 2 guys in recent memory that made the transition successfully from college to the pros Bobby Ross with San Diego and of'course Jimmy Johnson at Dallas. Prior to the FA era doesn't count because the HC was lord and master then so that eliminates guys like John Ralston at Denver and Bill Walsh both who had stints at Stanford which has been one of the launching pads for college to the pros coaches see the previous guys I mentioned and add Dennis Green and Jim Harbaugh. The only reason Green wasn't mentioned previously is because he was a pro assistant that went to the college ranks to get HC experience until a pro team came calling.
  14. Of the Alshon Jeffries fan club. He had the game wininng catch in the 4th Qtr as South Carolina eeked out a win at Miss ST 14 to 12 with the final 2 Miss ST points coming on the final play of the game as the Gamecocks took a safety as time expired. The Beast devours another opponent.
  15. You're right it doesn't really matter but I am almost certain that the intial rumors had Lovie favoring Mike Martz initially and JA wanting Bates or Clements. There was also talk of the Colts WR coach and another guy with the Bengals. So if you are keeping score you were correct about how many candidates there may have been but according to the media outlets I chose to follow most of the candidates either declined to interview or were denied permission from their current club. This basically left Martz as the only candidate left. Kinda like Lovie and Jauron. Filene's Basement coaching clearance bin. I am convinced that I want a guy who runs the WCO to come in here while Cutler is still alive. It also would not affect Forte's value either.

    Cutler

Ding Ding Jason and the one poster who likes to question us by asking some bogus question like "What plays did you think that O-line was the worst in the NFL?" has been conspicuosly quiet on the O-line subject. I have watched a lot of bad Bears teams in my 45 years of watching and this by far is the very worst line they have ever had. Even in the year when they went 1-13 and lost the coin flip for Terry Bradshaw but had a 1000 yd rusher (Sayers) even though everyone knew he was going to get the ball. The other talent on that team except for a HOF MLB, a solid OLB and an ok CB was it.
  17. Martz is a Lovie pick. When the OC search first began the Bears asked for permission to talk to a guy named Bates I think who declined and went to Seattle last year. They then asked to talked to packers' QB coach Tom Clements and was rebuffed by the packers.Lovie's original choice was Martz but, JA was not and after everyone they wanted was reluctant to come here when at the time because Lovie didn't have his extension and I think it was only a 2 year window and who would choose to come here especially you just threw your previous OC under the bus.
  18. I'm not surprised andfeel that Chris Harris looked like the pain killers were working over time when he played Monday. When he ran past the play in the backfield early in the game that was the tip of the iceberg.
  19. I actually remember Ed O Bradivich from the 63 championship team saying that he and a few of his defensive teammates started running offensive plays because they felt the offense with QB Bill Wade was only good between the 20's so they felt they should form their own offense and go both ways.If you have ever seen the 85 video this was part of the video recalling then the last Bear team to win a championship. My Idea was for humor purposes only but since we have endured guys being switched from positions over the last 25 years fromMike Richardson from safety to CB,Mark Bortz from DT to OG,Big Cat from DL to OT,Dustin Lymon from LB to TE, Jerry Azumah from RB to CB and Devin Hester from player without a position to DB to WR and probably back to returner.
  20. I agree Jason and when he was here he spent a considerable amount of time on the trainer's table and he trashed the team when he was let go. We need to focus the game on our no doubt best player, Matt Forte.
  21. Well JA since you like players that bet on themselves, the guy you should have taken care off this offseason is on a roll. Matt Forte 345 receiving and 440 rushing for a grand total of 785 on 122 touches for a 6.3 avg per touch. JA throw in your cards your not a good gambler.
  22. Me like that one. While I did mine tongue in cheek, your idea has some merit. Dare I say a Roy Green experiment like the St. Louis Cardinals did back in the Air Coryell days. Why not we are running the same style of offense supposedly.
  23. For the sake of my sanity I'm trying to make lite of this current situation by trying to laugh instead of scream. 1) Frank Omayele to defensive tackle: His anticipating the snap would have him in the opponents backfield on every down. 2) Stephen Paea to offensive guard: Why not he is not playing on defense so try him at guard he may become the next Mark Bortz. 2) Roy Williams to safety: Since he is basically invisible on offense he should help the Bears disguise some of their coverages in the secondary and with his hands he would lead the league inpasses defended. 4)Tyler Clutts to defensive end : He returns to his college position to help spell Peppers and Idonije. 5) Henry Melton to fullback: one way to get him into the backfield is return him to his former college position. 6) Kellen Davis to middle linebacker: His size in the deep middle would be a perfect fit in the Cover 2. 7)Brian Urlacher to tight end: Why not utilize one of the teams best athletes on offense when he has arguably some of the best hands on the team. 8) DJ Moore to wide reciever: His knack for being at the right place for deflections on his picks would be beneficial on offense when a defender tips away a pass. 9) Charles Tillman to wide receiver: He automatically would bring size and physicalty to the position and we could encourage Cutler to throw picks to the other team and have him strip the defenders to regain the ball for a first down 10) Dave Toub to offensive coordinator: The absolute best coach on the staff should be used to fix the offense. Please someone help me laugh.
  24. When you see a team in the division play a 4-3 defense better than your team does that worries me. The Lions rotated D-lineman in and out of the game much better than the Bears have ever dione in Lovie's tenure. When your best safety runs past plays looks lost on other plays and appeared to be running at half speed and after the game when asked questions about the teams performance gave this response"Idonno",I'm worried.Mon. Nite was the first time that I was ready to admit that our defense is old and that old myth about them being better on turf went into my Weber with my charcoal. Its a sad situation when I see the current safeties on this team and ask what was so bad about Daniel Manning? BTW Frank Omayale has surpassed Bernard Robertson as the False Start record holder in Bears history.
  25. Amen Mongo! When you repeatedly see opponents slamming the QB to the ground while you have one of the hottest running backs in the league and don't feed him the ball, that's staff related. When you continue to use timeouts in the first quarter because you can't get the plays in on time, thats staff related. When you call a timeout on fourth and one because you don't know if you want to go for it or not and pass up on sure points with one of the most consistent kickers in the league, thats staff related. When you see a player continue to struggle whenever he is in the game yet he is constantly being placed in the starting lineup, thats staff related. When you continue to avoid drafting or acquiring talent to surround your star players and provide adequate depth, THAT'S FRONT OFFICE STAFF RELATED.
