Mad L I also saw the packers lose both their starting tackles and beat the Falcons on the road with a rookie RT and a 2nd yr LT who switched from RT during the game. While we signed Dane Sazenbacher, they drafted Randall Cobb even though they are solid at WR.Our number 1 pick is injured, number 2 is inactive, number3 a special teamer. So if we are going to bust his chops lets do it about his drafts and acquiring or lack of offensive talent. This year he is hanging his hat on Williams ,Barber, Hurd and Spaeth. To make matters worst all three have struggled with injuries. The one guy I'd give him credit for is Forte but he seems to be indifferent about RBs and that goes all the way back to A-Train.

So your saying that the poor play that both their last two opponents had in those second halves didn't contribute to those two wins? Yes Detroit is improved but there are some chinks in their armor. Some of their fans have been chirping big time on whatever blogs you come across. I'm not one to get caught up in all that trash talking but I hope the Bears beat the crap out of the Lions tonight.

I've checked around again and still no official word that this player's tweet is true. So who knows if they may be bringing him in to kick the tires? There is a whole lot that we can bust JA's chops for IMO this isn't one of them. I saw Max Starks holding up pretty well for the Steelers and he was available just out of shape reportedly tipping the scales at 400 clicks. That was why the Steelers didn't want him back and after a couple of practices he was on the field the whole game and playing a big part in a dominant performance. I also don't recall him making a false start or any penalty in the game while I was watching(I admit switching between games). That has me a little ticked. Instead of bringing in all the D-linemen on a trial basis why not go after Starks a solid OT.

It might mean that some of these guys need to hold on to the ball when its thrown to them. There is only eight games on this kid's resume and he played with Enderle at Idaho. He is eligible to be on the PS because he hasn't played in nine games. This signing has nothing to do with the other things that need to be taken care of. Besides there has been no official announcement yet.

I hopethat Charles Tillman can shut him down like he did Randy Moss on a couple of occassions.

I'm good with holding Tice accountable but you kind of backed me up by saying what Tice has been asked to do is hard. Why is that because he has been given 2 7th rounders, a OG moved to center one first rounder who is playing a new position and another first rounder who is doing a Marc Colombo impersonation injury-wise. What i read from his quote is that he was trying to not call out one of his players and saying that he was trying to minimize his mistakes. Taking him out of the last game was an excellent way of minimizing his mistakes and him watching a player who never played his position do better than he did speaks volumes to all of us but I don't read him saying Omiyale sucks, that was one poster taking a quote and giving his opinion about it. Now don't get me wrong Frank Omiyale does suck and he should have never made this roster but, you can see that Lovie's influence on how the staff is going to comment in the media is starting to take shape. When Marts projected what he thought Williams would do in his offense and demoted Knox with no games being played and how he never trashed Knox and now he isn't trashing Williams even though in critical situations an undrafted free agent is on the field and he is not.

Because as a Bear fan we are never satisfied with our roster take a look at the top WR prospectsnfldraftscout.com Obviously click on the position button and move it to WR.
-
BTW The kid at Illinois named AJ Jenkins is looking like a decent prospect at WR alkso he is listed at 6/0 tall.
-
TT you almost made me choke as I had a mouth full of dry roasted nuts while reading your post. But you make a valid point when JA was in Tampa they would go after players from Texas A& M Kingsville. Remember Robbie Abdullah? And guess where Roberto Garza is from?
-
If you ever get a chance to watch this kid he is the next Megatron WR. He is an absolute beast and he is a Junior which leads me to believe that he should be a top pick in next years draft.
-
Minnesota had them on the ropes also and let them get away. I believe that if they allow the Bears to get up by as many as the last 2 opponents Stafford is going to get hit quite a bit and we will see if he is Detroits version of brittle Rex.

I would love for us to continue to beat the Lions like we have recently but the Bears on the road in prime-time games has me cautious.I can remeber a Mon Nite game with Eric Hipple as the Lions QB and they blasted the Bears scoring over 40 points and limiting the Bears to 7 a Marcus Anderson TD reception. Some of the Bears biggest clunkers have come on Mon Nite on the road,
-
Raiders Owner Al Davis passed away this morning at his home.
-
To be quite honest I could care less about who does the open for the Sun Nite or Mon Nite games and really would like for the game to begin without all the fanfare because I have been watching football since the mid 60's when all of the hype wasn't necessary. I usually get myself all jacked up for the games and don't need the abstinence advocate who fathered a child out of wedlock to get me revved up for the game especially since he is a life long Lion.I will have the mute button on. BTW: WHY NOT PLAY THE NATIONAL ANTHEM AS THE OPEN! I'm not sayin,I'm just sayin.

I'm a little confused on this thread. I read the article and I believe the quote was " At some point guys need to start earning their paychecks." So I'm trying to findout what he said that was such hot button to spur this thread. The article I read had mostly coach speak in it and didn't really pinpoint specific information that would get a rise from me. So please explain what he said that rubbed you wrong.

Ron Turner allegedly ran a WCO and Cutler and he didn't see eye to eye allegedly. I do believe that an offense that reigns Cutler in and utilizes the running game would make him more affective and make the Bears offense work better. We really can't pin point what Martz's offense is anymore. This year and last season is no different. He was doing the same moronic play calling until the Dallas game in the 2nd half when all of a sudden the Bears started getting rid of the ball quickly. He felt he satisfied the masses for that game and went right back to calling the deep drops and empty backfield plays.Once Cutler got knocked senseless in the Giants game, he then was reigned in and started to feature Forte. As well as talent evaluation the problem is play calling. Adapt your plays to your personnel.
-
I think its Kenny Albert and Moose and Goose. We get Sam Rosen and former Bear Tim Ryan a lot also.
-
With 324 yards rushing and 310 receiving and the Bears having a total of 1231 net yards he is clearly the kingpin of this offense. The longer the team waits the more costly it will be for them to sign him. As he spoke to Waddle and Silvy on AM 1000 ESPN todfay he said that even though he is trying to play through it, that its a distraction. He says he wants to be with a team that appreciates what he does. I agree!!
-
Exactly and the only time he strayed from his coach speak was when he actually joked about Hester and Barber's celebrations in the endzone saying that that wasn't on his check list and that if you are going to do a back flip do a complete one referring to Barber's 3/4 flip that I thought was stupid since he just came off the sidelines from injury.
-
Sarcasm is a Bears fan staple. If you watch the higlights in the grouping you'll see my point.
-
The usual blah blah from him ,he praised Hester said that they didn't play defense like they would have like(no sh--) and that they need to clean things up. When the reporters started asking him some pointed questions about acquiring players like Steve Smith he made a couple of comments and then the press conference ended shortly after that.
-
I was just on nfl.com and they had their can't miss plays of week 4 and Hester's record breaking return wasn't one of them And nothing with Forte also.
-
I'd prefer to watch his wiff punt in 85 at Soldier Field when the Bears pounded the Skins with him at QB.
-
The clown you refer to is another baseball announcer who is a member of the lucky sperm club Thom Brennamann son of HOF announcer Marty Brennamann. He actually had a stint hear doing Cub games so maybe he has a liking for the Bears but if he does you can't tell because the Arizona D-backs announcer shows no bias when he does national games.Billick was outstanding yesterday and was predicting the plays for both teams from down and distance situations. As a fan I liked that.He strikly talked football and situations instead of how things were when he coached or played.
