Seems cheap but he was injured last year. And he’s only had two 1,000 yard seasons in the last 5 seasons. His replacement, ARob, had two 1,000 yard seasons in the last four and hasn’t been injured lately.
I almost fell for the same fake acct. (no blue check). Dang Twitter and my old brain. The fact he’s lasted this long through FA should be a clue; too much money or other issues. Still think La’el Collins should be considered and may have similar concerns.
I have to believe these guys ‘not passing physicals’ is by the slightest of margins. For one it doesn’t seem to happen very often. And the other, I recall Morrow being out late last year for a season ending ankle injury (for which he had surgery). The other day during his presser he was asked about it and said that had the Raiders made it (later) into the playoffs he’d have been cleared to play. Ogunjobi’s injury actually occurred while they were playing the Raiders to continue into the playoffs. So a few weeks (at worst) separated their injuries. Of course you figure in severity and type; high ankle sprain(Morrow) and undisclosed foot injury (Ogunjobi) could also factor in.
Agreed. I feel like most of the players he’s picking up aren’t necessarily ‘tier one’ level players but they are young, respectable contributors and don’t cost a lot. From what I hear this is sorta how Poles built that oline last year.
Agree with you to some degree but on the level of mistakes, more like an “oppsie-daisy”. The guy had foot surgery last season and I’m sure Poles knew that. Was he eager (premature) in announcing the signing? Was he compelled to do so? A few days before true free agency started? Maybe? ??♂️. You can bet he’ll be more cautious with players and their injury histories going forward.
Then there’s this…
Yup. Considering he said he’d slow roll it into the later days of FA (for which he mainly has) this signing was the big “splash” at the beginning. However, I am not yet deterred by Poles. Ill chalk it up to beginners un-luck. Fool me once and all that.
In other words a double dose of ‘meh’. Although in the little bit of film I watched, Pringle is a true Slot Receiver. And he doesn’t mind that he’ll get creamed going over the middle.
I suppose it all depends on the market and whether they think Chicago is a contender. Don’t know anyone who picked the Bengals to be in the Super Bowl this last year. It also might come down to how invested the team might be in actually getting him (although at this point common logic suggests Jones probably wouldn’t reciprocate). Right now TB is probably in the drivers seat (with the return of Brady) or even GB if they can’t make Adams happy. For what it’s worth our recently acquired RB from Tennessee has weighed in:
Any interest here? On a ‘team friendly’ deal if it can be done? Some say he’s got nothing left. I suppose it would be “six one, half dozen the other” between he or ARob.
I read somewhere that Morrow started out as a safety for the Raiders. Sounds a lot like Urlacher in that regard. Watching film on him shows he’s a pretty rangy player who doesn’t mind contact. Roquan is an excellent lateral player (x axis) and Morrow seems to do better on the ‘y axis’. Will be fun to see them playing together.
