I don't think it's set in stone he's going to draft Caleb at number one as the total football world thinks he is. If he does a historic trade down or downs and brings in 5 or 6 blue chip players, he will go to the GM Hall of Fame in his 3 rd year. That is still in play. If he likes another QB and takes a few trades, he would ignite the football frenzy that we already have. Another thing to consider is no one is offering a 1 st, or even a second round for Justin, he's not taking 3 rd picks for Justin. He will do something to surprise us.

Coming March 11, free agency takes over the narrative. Who's the first signing Poles makes? After JJ, I think he only makes one splash signing ( money contract). Samuel is friends with DJ and could see him taking a quick contract from Poles instead of waiting for a big contract. Also Poles will jump on the center he wants. The extra boost in cap space loosens up Poles strict value contracts. Cusenberry would be nice. Next would be TE, FS and edge.

He could be a sneaky pick for Poles at QB, which could be gotten at 9. (?) Poles passed on QBs last year and the top rated player in the draft ( Carter) for a RT. He is a proven winning QB, lacks stats because he was on a rush first team but has all the traits.

We know that's not coming from Poles.

I haven't seen you lately, hope everything is going well. Always value your opinion. I think Poles does the deep dive and gets it right. Not sure what Crosby's contract is but would make us one of top 3 D's in the league and we would have the money to do it. Poles said in an interview that he won't trade out of the blue chip players group, not sure how deep his board goes. Usually between 10 to 15 on the average.

Those are moments you remember when other things get forgotten. Might Poles thinks JJ could be great and takes him at 9? I never underestimate Poles to not do what is expected. Scenario: trade back a couple spots and get extra picks and draft MHJ plus grab McCarthy at 9, I could live with that.

If Poles drafts him, he will already have everything figured out. He won't draft him if he becomes a problem but he will know going in.

I'm not a scout or pretend to be one, so I trust Poles to do the deep dive and make the right choice. As much I'm a JF1 fan, if Caleb is the dude, who wouldn't want him. The only thing that as always bothered me is crowning him Mahomes 2 without the process being completed, that's happening now.

Caleb is going to go around and play up to any team he thinks might draft him. Lots of things that might have been rumors really doesn't matter but a few things are simply fact. Him not doing medical at the combine is not a rumor. His dad being quoted he thinks the limited rookie pay scale is unfair. Him not getting an agent. Him being born and playing in DC, former home. Grew up a Redskins fan. Him not throwing at the combine. If you look at Commanders media, he spoke differently about Washington than things he said to other teams. He loves Kingsbury. He gives the overall impression, he wants to be treated differently and that brings red flags. Even though there's a rookie contract structure, he will be one of the last to sign in the league because he thinks he has more worth than anyone else.

If we trade the first few picks and Justin, then Poles drafts a Nix or McCarthy that probably wouldn't start his first year could Bagent get us thru a development period? Just a hypothesis.

It's not going to be about his talent, I think he could be special but he seems to want to be treated special ( or am least his dad does) . That will just be an ongoing issue thru the process and and he gets drafted. Not what a first pick in draft should be. No medical at the combine will turn some teams off, maybe Poles to.

Just read he's not doing the medicals at the combine. Not throwing either? This kind of stuff is a red flag for using the # 1 pick on the guy.

We have a # 1, we just need to add talent in the WR room. If we go with Williams, then he'll trade out of 9 , he's getting extra picks somewhere. If Field's gets traded, it will be for a second, doubt their getting a one.

Also heard a local Atlanta writer stated that the Falcons are going to try to sign Cousins.

Heard where Williams isn't doing the medical review at the combine. No agent?, no medical? Is he throwing at the combine? Are these things any red flags for anyone?

This fits every need with top prospects.

I heard the offer proposed was to flip 8-9 and a second, not a 8 by itself. It's not an extra one, just higher pick.

At the beginning of the year, JJ was a good CB but didn't have the TOs , probably talked to him but JJ was willing to bet on himself and staring getting the TOs. Now he's getting more money. I would say Poles is probably slightly less than the top paid CB. He always has the tag to use, he's not going anywhere.

Would love that to happen but probably not realistic.

Not all scouts are good at their job, Ourlads are former scouts that run a evaluation service that 16 teams use during their process. Their top 32 always look different that most so called experts. They always are pretty accurate with the top 32 players, not as for as which team takes them but who is .

If he makes the right decision this year, he's going to be here for a very long time. He could set the team up for several years to come. Classy, down to earth and Smart.
