We now have players that defensive coordinators have to answer to. If we run the ball well, Justin's running ability, and play action will kill the defense. This year is going to be so much fun. ,

I seen that , never heard of Morgan before but had some good talking points. The more you look around the more you find positive film on players on the team. Both Pickens and Dexter have a lot to see also.

I think he had two offers and I understand that he doesnt want to go into a situation where he is not in control. I still think he has a stake in making this a good team. Success breeds success. If this is a winning season he will get more accolades than coming off a 3 win season. It may take him a couple of yrs to find what he wants. Every job offer is not created equal. Also I like the fact we will have 2 extra 3rd picks because of the new rules in the NFL.

He could have left last year but I think he wanted to stay to see the turn around. He will get offers with a positive year. Him and Poles must be close friends.

If you're bored you need to watch this, the poster is a packet fan. It's 14 minutes long.. Made me laugh this morning.

PFF put out their OL rankings for 2023. We are down 7 spots from the end of last year. Final rankings had us 14th and now we are 21st. They claim Whitehair as its best lineman. 4 new spots and they rate 2 OGs in the top 10 and we are 21st. I just cant figure out PFF. More for having us ranked 14 last yr instead of what they have this yr.

I was looking for something on you tube and came across this. I never played Madden before but graphics are great.

I think everyone agrees, last year and now are different. I know we have a long way to go but my trust is getting better. Of course, one big difference is Fields, but the regime running the Bears appear to know what their doing. Poles talks to everyone, Pace showed up once or twice a year. Flus has players buying in , we will see the results very soon.

T J Edwards was undrafted out of Wisconsin to. He became a top LB and now is recognized as that. The same will occur with Sanborn. He will earn more snaps by his play as SLB. From nobody , to can he be a good starter? He will keep progressing. If we end up having 3 or 4 top type LBers, that's not a bad thing. We look at the defense this as being better, but lacks a very good edge. The upgrade at DT, LB and DBs will upgrade the pass rush w/o the great pass rusher.

That is the exact reason, I think Justin will have a breakout type of year. He has leadership skills ,hard working, and commitment to be great. Anyone remember when covid shutdown the Big Ten, he's the one that got the players together to demand they play the season, and it worked. We are toying with the notion that he will be a good QB. I'm toying with the notion how great will he be?

It will define the season. I think they will be trying to get a quick start, Fields wins this one.
-
Its going to happen.

Wasn't Kelce the top rated OC last year? What Sanborn loses with speed, he picks up with good vision and recognition.

All of those comments strengthen my opinion that our offense will excel this year. I think between3500 to 4000 yds. Our low expectations are established because of the history of the team. We have a new history evolving in front of us.

Houston is the logical pick, won't be expensive and will just be a situational pass rusher. Only need to give him a one year deal. If in limited snaps we can get 6 sacks out of him that would be a win. Don't see a big time edge but maybe as a whole we can be a middle of the pack in sacks.
-
actually we seem to be agreeing. I just think the Justin breakout yr is this yr and most people are hesitate. I get I'm an optimist, but the talent and work ethic is there for that to happen.
-
When looking at last year, its hard to wrap your head around anything above 3500 and 25 but I think our number of 3 and outs are a thing of the past. We are simply going to have 10 to 15 more offensive plays a game. That opens the potential for a lot better numbers. DJs numbers will be over a thousand yards. I think the next 3 will all be over 600 yds , not which one will stand out to be #2 in targets. You have the other WRs, Tonyan, and the RBs to add in, I think 3500 and 25 will be the floor.

Not sure if my statement came across clear, I never said we will be a dominant team. Running to a playoff spot is not the same a run to the SB or even one of the better teams in the NFC. I don't see a strong team in the North. Detroit is not a bottom feeder but Jared Goff ain't taking them to the promise land. Jordon Love is not making anyone forget Rodgers. If Fields averages 200 yds passing a game that's 3400 for the yr. I think he does better than that. I think we win 10 games, that's not dominant but that's not last place in the division either. Yes we will run the ball but my basis is on the fact we will be near the league average of 512 passing attempts on the yr. Eagles had 536 passing atps. and 544 rushing atps.I think we will be around 500 in both rush and pass.

I am not sure if this can open unless you are a part of twitter but he impresses me a lot. We dont have a lot to go by, but Poles came in here saying he knows linemen. He identified a small school LT that started every game and looks to be the real deal. Did he now identify a DT that will out play expectations. I think so. He is a beast, watched everything I could of his you tube stuff, I get why some said he was slow off the line but he showed flashes of quickness. Come to find out, he was playing the two gap system. Seen a video where his D line coach was interviewed a former coach with the Giants. Everyone that is around him is quite impressed.

Saying we can make a run for a playoff spot is totally because of two reasons. Not a strong division and the breakout of Justin Fields. If Justin breaks out its not going to be over 3000 yds and 24 TDs. Its going to be a giant step. Pushing 4000 yds and 30 TDs. Add in selective running and you have a star. Yes Im being overly optimist even with a lot of question marks. The improvement on the offense has less questions than the defense will be based off of how well our pass rush improves. RB group is one of the leagues strongest. WR group has potential to be one of the top 10 groups in the league. We now have two viable TEs and the OL in stronger at 4 positions. Yes there will be injuries and it will guide what happens but our depth is better now.
-
17 rosters is most normal for the 4 leagues I am in , adding another IR spot would be a good idea because of the extra game and more injuries in a long season. If you put that up for vote before we get started I vote to add another rostered IR spot. In the past, lets say your top pick got hurt, put on IR, and you had to let him go because of the need on a bye week to use other players.
-
Even though edge is still a weakness, Poles still added pieces at that position. The OL has been upgraded at 4 positions and usually you see a big jump in the second year for young players, Braxton Jones. Poles have strengthen every other group. Still the most important element for success this year is Justin Fields . I don't see any way this is a so so year for him. He has all the traits of a winner. Great leader, football intelligence, hard worker and a small ego. Top athletics, and gifted legs and arm. Poles is set to roll this year . I know the plan was for 2024 to start the run but after this year Cunningham and Getsy are likely to be gone so I think the timetable has moved up. X
