  1. What we read, what we see is how we form our own opinions. Expects go all over the place with their opinions. So when you assess a player, you find people that think like you so you expand on their posture. Tape matters of course, can you see a persons character on tape? Can you see a persons work ethic on tape? You rarely see practices and how they get along with other players. All of that would be NO. PFF is all about stats, do they get it right every time. Most on here don't hold high regard for them. As far as games you see breakdowns by players, did the QB make the wrong throw or did the WR run the wrong route? It's such a complex problem diagnosing players. Some former players opinions go beyond just watching tape, interviews , talking to coaches, other players on the team. They have more insight in their opinions than fans. You can't measure how much they love football on tape. If you see all of those things watching ALL 22 tape, I think you need quit your job and get a scouting job immediately because you've special.
  2. The whole point of an analogy is about percentages, something you like to use, Doctor gets it right on a higher percentage than the cabbie. No one is right all the time. Clearly only KC thought Mahomes was special. Its simply a crap shoot.

It sure does raise the hype for a interesting off-season. So many ways we go, fascinating process. Since when we ever major players in the draft plus two years in a row.
  4. All true. When you hire someone that states, it's a 4 to 5 year rebuild, probably deserves year 3 to prove himself. For now you have to look at , fixing the cap issues and the draft capital he obtained in two years. Counts for something.
  5. Sounds like a ( not DC job) that would be fine. Insight into Packers. That would be helpful.
  6. We need to listen to the experts because their always right.

I think they attempt to upgrade every where but if they fail, they bring some back. JJ, obviously, Joel Blackwell, good STs player, Mooney on a vet minimum deal( you can always cut him), Mercedes Lewis, and Justin Jones. If you can upgrade Jones, go for it, but he played well . 49 Ts, 10 TFL, 17 QB hits, 4.5 sacks

Also a player could be jealous because he gets all the attention. Or he's a egotistical asshole. Lots of things could be in play all at the same time.
  9. We don't know how anyone will perform until it happens but this is the best time to be optimistic because they aren't playing games .

I get it , I was just explaining my position on the matter. If I'm taking a cab ride to the doctor and he gives me medical advice, I just prefer the doctors advise over the cabbie. Everyone has the right to their opinions.
  11. So what happens next year when Flus goes 11-6 ? 3-14, 7-10 then 11-6.
  12. I'll purchase two of those drafts please. I believe that's very close to going down that way. Maybe some different names but definitely the positions.

So you're saying I am supposed to trust a passionate fans opinion over people that played QB and in the league . I think I'll pass. Now if you're a college or NFL scout then I will value your opinion much more but I don't think that's true. If you want a list , I'll take the time to make the list tomorrow.

I heard that Williams injury will bleed into next season and could be midseason before he could start playing again, doubt Poles ain't paying for a broken player. We seen what happened to Nate Davis when his season was disrupted with his season and he wasn't even injured.
  15. So assuming Poles trades the 1 st pick, who will he take with pick 9 and the extra pick in round 2? I saying a WR and edge not in any particular order.
  16. If the argument you stated is true then it explains who is running the Bears, clearly it's Poles because Flus is still here and isn't going anywhere. So now we know Warren is strictly the business side,IE fired Stein.

Okay, I understand that, what about the 30 or40 other players that support Justin? Former bears, former QBs, former coaches, you can't dismiss everybody.

What I find interesting is people automatically know that Williams is a generational QB. Several signs suggest that might not be true. It's getting a draft haul , keep Justin vs he's a generational QB. Both can be wrong or both can be true. It's about the choices Poles makes.
  19. Never said any of that, I'm saying Poles wasn't hiring him so it's a wasted conversation. We can all play fantasy and pretend a existing GM is going to hire a coach and relinquish some of his power to the alpha dog , that was never going to happen, so why talk fantasy? Warren would have to overrule Poles and hire him and everything I read is he supports him. Find me a statement where Warren bad mouths Poles and we can then have this conversation.
  20. Now I understand it's stupid to disagree with you. Now on Flus, he's our coach next year so that doesn't need to be discussed anymore. So we can go over that argument one year from now. All of this cleared up in one post. Let's start doing draft talk and prospect information.

I have wavered on the Justin support over the last month but I keep seeing former players and former QBs lend their support of Fields. It's hard for me to dismiss their opinion because many sports journalists and fans disagree. I valve their opinion much greater than novice opinions. I have never been in a NFL locker room but it counts for something. I valve the team players opinions more than everyone's else's and have never heard one not support Justin. I'm willing to be okay with Poles choices and believe it's probably (stay with Justin.)
  22. That in itself is where the problem comes , you say it has to meet your criteria or their argument is silly and weak. Someone shows you that their opinion has happened before but because its not a high percentage the take is ,it doesn't count. Its not 50/50 but it sure in hell ain't 95/05 either. The fact it's possible is enough of a argument to have an opinion.
  23. Harbaugh was never even in the conversation. He would steal power from Poles and could be the alpha in the room with Warren. Why would any GM give away control to a coach . People keep thinking because Harbaugh was available its an automatic that they have to hire him. They would have to throw away their plan and bow down to Harbaugh. No one will do that. You did notice they hired the coach before they hired a GM, the GM will only be a title, Harbaugh has all the power.
  24. I couldn't say if that is real or not real but there is no way to prove it, so we believe what we want to believe. I would think we would see signs of them not getting along .in the public exposure and have not seen that at all. I can see where the contrary exists where he gives total support to Poles and praises Flus. Let's say the public imagine seems they totally support each other and it probably didn't go down that way.
  25. I keep getting the impression you say it's okay to have your opinion and then turn around and say 2+2=5 meaning it's a worthless opinion. Then say no one understand what you're saying. I think everyone totally understands your side of it but it's like if they don't agree with you you keep dismissing their argument. Can we all just move on and just agree to disagree and stop rehashing the same argument over and over. No one is changing their mind on this. The Williams argument will play out as the draft process vents him. At the end he may be the Golden boy and everyone will be on the same page. But as I said before its not Fields against Williams. Poles may get an offer he can't refuse. I contend he can still keep Fields, get a draft haul, move back again and draft McCarthy to develop and satisfy everyone at the same time.
