Normally you don't get this much presence from the coaching staff, plus the GMs being so available. Besides being a bears fan, they make you route for them. Never had this kind of connection with the front office before. Makes you believe in them. I think we have a good future going on right now.

If there is anytime to drink Kool Aid its now. Until further input, I trust Poles on what he does. If he thinks Dexter can be a blue chip player, Im all in. We drafted 3 DTs so I know it will upgrade the DL at the worst and as they grow as players will only get better. Billings is a very good player that was better than anyone we had a NT last year, so that is already a plus. Then Walker is better than anyone that played the edge last year. Walkers senior yr was 68 Ts-21 1/2 TFL-16 sacks. I think his signing has been undervalued to most people. I wish he would hurry up and add an edge so we know what we have to play with. The unknown factor is what we get out of Robinson and Gipson.

He has amazing strength and quickness for a 6'6" 312 man. Good coaching can make him a monster. He needs to maintain low pad level , get his hands up when applying pressure on the QB. If they get him to 13% body fat, he will be a handful. Poles is banking on coaching him up to realize his potential, I agree. He has a high motor , rarely seen him loaf.

I think the Packers will have a good running game and a good defense but doenst have enough fire power to be a winning team. Not bad enough to hit bottom 5 in the league. How great would it be if we got a top 5 pick in the draft.

Swifty is an optimist, (just like me) and always presents the upside of players. This is a long video but if you have the time, you will feel much better about Dexter as a second round pick. There is one play against Tenn where he takes on a triple block and still makes the play. One of the blockers is Darnell Wright. Great strength and can get stronger. He was rated higher than Jalen Carter coming out of high school. I dont want to be a bear bonehead but he could be better than Jalen Carter in a few yrs.

Looked at several videos of Love. Good size and arm strength but doesn't look special. As long as he has good support players, he will be above average. If coaches rely on Jordon to create big plays, they will be disappointed. The fact he has all young players in the WR room, I expect a mediocre season. He can move but not fast or A good runner. They will rely on a running game, but if they can't produce, it will be hard for Love to carry them.

I read almost everything Bears related articles. WCG, Bear Goggles, Bears insider, CHGO Bears, PFF Bears, Bears Wire, Sports Mockery (Bears), and The Athletics'. AZ easily is a better writer than 3/4 of those writers on those sites. I realize they need reading content and put out a lot of stupid threads but some stick out with well thought out content, and AZ could easily do that for a living. I dont always agree with his opinions but he always puts out well thought content. If Chase Young is an option and Poles pulls that trigger, then I know he did his homework and will be excited. The one thing Poles has shown is he's not going to spend value on a pick or FA that could end up a bust. That's why he rarely throws out big long term contracts. Its still a work in progress. People look at the Chase Claypool for a second round pick as a bad value acquisition . I think before we can be critical on that move we have to let this year play out. At the time we made that trade we didnt have a top 5 pick yet. The draft and FAgency was underwhelming in the WR room. Now a few draftees emerged as a high upside but none of them would have been available at pick 32. He traded with the thought of Fields and Chase getting some time to bond for the rest of the year which because of injuries didnt work out. But for this year he has a head start to bond with Justin. He's tall, fast , good high point, and has proven production in the league. His rookie year was his best production because he had high level WRs in their WR room. He put him so he wasnt getting #1 CB or double teams. He will flourish with Moore , Mooney, and Kmet to throw to . I think as far as trades that Carl Lawson would be more of a target than Young. He doesnt have any injury history to worry about and will come cheaper in trade value. He had 8 sacks last year and 49 pressures. He got overpaid on a contract when he signed with the Jets. He is getting 15 mil this yr.( not worth it) but if Poles gets him I sure there will be a new contract that will lower that price. New contract( 3 yrs-32 mil.) He tore his Achilles injury in 2021 but played 600 snaps last yr so he is beyond that. IMO if he has to spend 10+ mil for a player, might as well just sign Yannick Ngakoue for one yr and figure long term out next yr. When he signed Walker, other than Ngakoue, he got a player with the best production of any of the other FA DEs available. I think Walker is going to be our leading sacker that is being looked at as no one special. His stats were good and has upside. 7 sacks, 10 TFL, 16 QB hits, 32 QB pressures.

Zadurius Smith just got traded for 2 5th rounders plus giving back a 6 and 7 th rounder. It will go cheaper than a 2 nd rounder. 2024 4th rounder from Philly and a 2 nd rounder from the Panthers in 2025. These are extra picks, you think they would take that?

Heard an interview of Poles on the SCORE today and when talking about edge rushes (he) brought up about trading for a pass rusher. Who do you think he's talking about? I doubt if its Chase Young because of his injury history and 15 mil due this year. So who might it be?

I think the weakness of the schedule is games 8 thru 12 . 4 road games and a Thur game. If we can have a 3-2 record there , we will win 10-11 games. The key will be winning the NOs game. Another key game will be the Denver game. Its a home game after a loss to KC. I think the thought of losing two games in a row will have us up for this game. Wilson is bad when pressured up the middle. I think by the 4th game the younger DT will start to ascend. Both of NO and Den will be keyed by TOs. Both of those QBs are capable of putting up interceptions. The games we have to be careful about is the high power Offensives. I dont see a lot of them on the schedule. KC, Chargers, and who else? Det and Minn?

I think Carolina is bottom 5 but doubt they take the first draft spot. Any where in the top 10 would be a good pick. If we have a winning record our pick will fall 15-20 slot in the draft. If we have a top 10 and top 20 pick, I think Poles can do a lot with that. The sweet spot of the draft this year was 30-45, I can see Poles trading back and still have 4 top 50 picks which would be great.

I agree, I think Homer is the first to go and then Johnson displaces Herbert as the number 2 back.

He's not going to be a record setting QB by NFL standards but will reset all the Bears records. I have no doubt.

I've been watching a lot of podcasts talking about the future of the Bears. I watched an interview with the Florida line coach on CHGO. His opinions have raised my level of trust in Dexter going forward. Huge man , good movement, great work ethic. The scheme at Florida was a read and move which affected his production. Plus, they had a lack of depth where he virtually had to play every snap on defense. He wore down as the game went forward. He was playing 55-60 plays a game. In the NFL he will be expected to play 40 in rotation. Has to get in better shape and more strength and he will be a beast. His metrics mirror Cris Jones as a prospect. If he is 85% of Cris Jones, Poles nailed it. Also lots of football experts (self called) think Fields will have a break out year compared to Josh Allen's 3 year. 16 572 396 69.2 4544 7.9 55 37 10 If Fields goes 4000 yds, 30 TDs and 10 ints, we will be making the playoffs. Buffalo has always been a good running team and still was able to get Allen reps passing. I think this years offense can contribute the same kind of production. Their offense took off when they acquired Stephon Diggs. We now have D J Moore. Not as good as Diggs but our other WRs are better than what Buffalo had. Have yet to see the production but I think our OL has become a strength instead of our worst position group. We have upgraded 4 positions. Jones will play better, he has been working on improving his strength. Jenkins moves to LG which will yield better play than Whitehair did last year. Whitehair moves to OC that improves Mustifers play by leaps and bounds. Davis is the best player on the line. Wright will be a plug and play and will greatly be better than Reiff gave us. We were the best running team in the league last year and I think this RB room is much better. I think Foreman will start and be a stud , I think Johnson pushes Herbert for more playing time because he is a more complete player. I think because of Johnson's talent, he will move Homer off the roster. Although Homer is a stud ST player which may keep him on the roster. We now have more depth at TE. Last year a lot of our ragged play was due to having poor depth players taking to many snaps. We will not have that problem this year.

He got in a couple of games when Jenkins was having some health issues at RG. He was pretty raw when first signed. I think he will stay as a backup but if he is developing, I can see him getting some more reps at OC.

Seen a ranking for WRs groups in the NFL , by Mike Clay (have no idea who he is) He ranked us 16th , top 5 WRs Its pretty realistic but I think there are several in front of us that we will be better than.

My predictions: remember the practice squad is part of the regular season roster. Tyson Bagent/ QB Stephen Carlson/TE Gabriel Houy/ OL Thyrick Pitts/WR D'Anthony Jones/ edge.

Last year 5 UDFAs has 5 that are still on our roster. Sanborn clearly stuck out. Waylon Jones has potential. Who sticks from this years group? Pick 5.

Poles keeps throwing darts at the board, some will surprise us like Jack Sanborn and most will fade away. This is way GMs build the roster over a period of time. If we can get a few roster spots filled from UDFAs that's a win. 5 from 2022 are still on the roster with Sanborn was the prize. Jaylon Jones, Jack Tonges, and A J Thomas got reps last year.

We also need to remember that Dieter Eiselen has had reps at OC. He keeps being kept on the roster. At 6'4" 320 bigger than most OCs in the league. Maybe they groomed him to eventually take over at OC. Next year as Whitehair and Patrick leave, Kramer may fall into that role but Eiselen keeps hanging around. They will draft one and have a competition at the spot.

This verifies that PFF is just something to use for comparison and isnt what it projects to be. The highest graded PFF edge didnt get drafted. Literally had to have a tryout, was not a first tier signed UDFA. Now he may turn out to be a big sleeper but you cant put a lot of stock in PFF.

Actually he said PFF had the highest grade as a pass rusher. He has an optimistic view on everything bears. Don't mind that at all.

I thought Cody Mauch would have been a good get but he went to high. Otherwise they brought in Stromberg from Arkansas. They clearly only saw Tippmann, JMS and Stromberg as up grades, so they didn't draft one. Wypler got a lot of attention but clearly the NFL didn't view him the same as so called draft experts.
