Nathan Shepherd/DT Fort Hayes State had a visit with the Bears 6'3 3/4" 315

Edmonds can play any LB position but Smith is limited to a specific role? Read the player profiles? He is a stud with versatility. I would have no problem with either choice, I think Smith will have an instant contribution and Edmonds will take time. Edmonds has great potential but Smith has leadership characteristics, cover ability, and passrush skills. He will have more pro bowls over his career than Edmonds.
-
I think Fitzpatrick would be an excellent pick but If Nelson is there, they take him. Everything going forward is to build around Tribusky. Protecting him will be a priority. Fritz can play all 5 DBs spots. Also blitzer and leader of the defense. He gives us insurance at any of those positions plus play making ability. Fangio would love to play chess with him.

First round at 8 only has one option of value in Q. Nelson. I think if we move back in the draft, C. Williams (at OG), Hernandez, Wynn, M. McGlinchey are in play. I think there is a chance one of those drop into the second plus in play as a pick is Daniels, Price, Corbert, and T Crosby. I think a couple wildcard sneeky picks that could go at 2 are Frank Ragnow/OC and Branden Smith/OG. A sleeper for later in the draft is Skyler Phillips/OG/Idaho State. I watched several games for him and he knocks a lot of people on the ground.

If Nelson is not there, do not sleep on us potential drafting either Landry or Davenport at that spot. If Pace is sold on a pass rusher, you could listen to the argument they both would be better than Edmunds in that skill. I think Nelson is a no brainier also I think R Smith and Fritzpatrick, possibly Ward are all in play as first choices. Those 3 have an instant impact in the first year. Edmunds has upside but is more like Floyd that it will take a few years to develop. Instant impact players I think has to be consider is Vea, teamed with Hicks and Goldman.
-
Edmunds will take a few years to develop but then it is not certain he is a star. He has great measurables but will be switching to the outside from his normal position. Smith is a day one starter and impact player. Team leader , I was all on board taken Edmunds but not think R. Smith has more of an impact on the team.

Who in this draft is going to be a blue chip player from day one and makes us a better team now? Chubb could be the guy but will not be there. Barkley could be consider that type of player, but he will not be there in almost any scenario. Next will be Nelson, a potential instant all pro type. He would give us strength at a key need and push the O in his first year to be better. Now we are at players we probably have the best shot at . Fritzpatrick can be used all over the field at any DB spot and be a playmaker we badly need. A prime candidate if available . R. Smith would instantly make out defense better. a Luke Kuechly type that improves the players around him. Ward could be the same type with being a playmaker as Lattimore did last year for NO. NO sucked before they got him and he transcended them to a descent D in one year. Another player I believe could have instant impact is if we took Vita Vea for the 5T spot. He would make our DL one of best in the league. Players that would take development past the first year: Edmunds,Ridley, James, Davenport or Landry would be able to do that immediately. I think our pick should be out of Nelson-R. Smith-Fritzpatrick-Ward-Vea in that order. Whoever is available at 8, trading back gets us a good prospect but not a day one plug and play star.
-
I see no way we move up. Chubb is the only one worth the move, but we dont have enough draft capital to do a move up to 4 to get Chubb. that would take our 2nd, both 4s and a high pick next year. He may go at 2 but I do not see him sliding past 5 at worst case. He traded up for the the 2 most valuable spots. We have a QB now and a pass rusher. He will stay at 8 to pick, Nelson, Fritz, R. Smith, or Edmunds. He could move back and still get Davenport or Landry. I see in a move back that would could draft Connor Williams and play him at OG, or M. McGil to replace Massie.
-
Read where Whitehair has been at the OC spot in OTAs. I think they end up leaving him there. I think it is possible, if we trade back that we could draft Connor Williams at OG. He was the highest rated OT going into the college year and had a bad year. I have read,. a lot think he could easily be places at OG.
-
he is just guy, we need bodies, good teams keep rolling with players until one sticks that shows promise or breakout of a mediocre past.
-
I think that 3 QBs, Barkely and Chubb will be gone. The rest is a big crap shoot. We should have a choice of Fritzpatrick or Nelson if another QB is taken. I would have no problem with Fritz, Nelson, R Smith, Edmunds. Also I would not want Ward but that could end up being a good pick with all the passing done in the NFL these days. I could understand us taking Davenport or Landry, if they believe to be blue chip edge rushers.
-
Actually R. Smith would be a great addition to the defense and be a leader. I would prefer him to Edmunds that would take a few years to develop.
-
Turay has more upside, otherwise sold picks
-
I think we need two pass rushers, Floyd has yet to play a full season. The possibility exists we could get grab Fitzpatrick. He could play at either S spot, the off CB, and the slot CB. He is known as a play maker and Fangio could easily throw him all over the place and still have plenty of snaps for all of our starters right now. Also could be Ward/CB, R. Smith/ILB, D. James/S or Edmunds. I see as a spoiler the possibility we could draft H. Landry/OLB or Vita Vea/DT. big board order: Chubb Nelson Fritzpatrick Edmunds Ward James Landry Vea
-
I think there is other pass rushers with less issues that have high upside that you wont have to deal with the risk.
-
Not only does he have a potential character issue, also he had should surgery last year from last year that affected how well he played on the field. He also has quickness but is not fact. He ran a 4.89 at his pro day, not in the elite class of OLBs. Not worth a 2nd round consideration but from the third or fourth round would be a good pick.
-
Sowell is the OT backup plan so far. They will draft one. The starter right now is Eric Kush at LG. We have no idea the influence of H. Heinstand to the play of existing players. I would say it boosts every starter one step forward. They have added Watford, just a experience backup -nothing special. They have moved Coward to OG with the concept of developing him for the future. unknown and probably be stashed on the practice squad for future considerations. I would have no problem if they drafted OL with the first two picks but probably be a OT prospect and a potential starter at OC or OG depending on the Nelson draft pick. I see a D player at one and the 2nd round maybe a center, Price, or Daniels, have read a lot of good things about Frank Ragnold. Another option is draft Connor Williams at 8 and play him at OG. A potential blue chip pick. Ideally we move back. And grab one OLB and 2 OL with the next few picks.
-
Sweat is probably a 3rd or 4th round option with upside.
-
It is not a revelation moving Coward, but with Morgan, Kush, Wartford, and Kyle they are adding depth at the position to tell me, they may not draft one high if Nelson is gone. If they think Kush is a good option, I can see them going defense first round and maybe a RT in the second round to upgrade Massie now.
-
I find this interesting. I think they may think they have their starter in Eric Kush and now will have Morgan and Coward as backups. It worked well for for Big Cat Williams in the day.I would say if Nelson doesn't make it to our pick, we will go defense and maybe a OT prospect later in the draft to replace Massie after this year.

I did this mock on FirstPIck.com and that is the best trade down they offered. I personally think Buffalo is more in play than any other team.

Since we are so close to the draft, here is a shot at what I think will happen. We do one trade back with GB, get 14-a 2nd and 3 rd picks. Round 1 Pick 14 (G.B.): Landry, Harold, OLB/DE, Boston College (B+) Round 2 Pick 7: Price, Billy, C/OG, Ohio State (B+) Round 2 Pick 13 (G.B.): Crosby, Tyrell, OT, Oregon (A-) Round 3 Pick 12 (G.B.): Settle, Tim, DT, Virginia Tech (A-) Round 4 Pick 5: Meeks, Quenton, CB, Stanford (A) Round 4 Pick 15: Cain, Deon, WR, Clemson (A+) Round 5 Pick 8: Armstrong Jr, Dorance, DE/OLB, Kansas (B) Round 6 Pick 7: DeLuca, Nick, ILB, North Dakota State (B+) Round 7 Pick 6: Franklin, Jarvion, RB, Western Michigan (A) I tried to address all the needs and actually feel real good about getting Settle in the 3rd round. Read up on him.

As AZ said, if you are not motivated when you play, millions of dollars will only distract you more. That is what always gets GMs in trouble , trying to understand what is in a players head. See Ruebin Foster for example.
-
If our draft pick turns out to be a good WR, then maybe he replaces Bellamy. I think we keep 5 with 3 TEs and 3 RBs and a FB on the roster. Robinson Gabriel White draft pick Fowler In KC Nagy rarely ran 3 WR sets.
-
I think he fits perfectly. His targets will net him probably 30 receptions. He will be the 5th option in the passing game. One reason Cams not back is is position in the passing order. Wasn't one of the first 3-4 th options.
