I think the stars on the D have not been playing up to their contract but when some of your schemes have a LB covering a speedy WR, something is wrong with that scheme. I think he isnt aggressive enough. This is the best way for Pagano to leave, I think he might have been let go so this saves him a bad look.
-
Just heard they are bringing the band back. Also Pagano retiring. They need to promote Jay Rodgers to DC job. A future stud
-
He came thru our camp and we did not keep him. So much for noticing talent. One game does not make a QB but we have very little to work with now.

You cant cut free agents, they are no longer on the team. Plus they have no money applied to the cap so you save nothing. If you meant not resigning would save money? The problem is we only have 35 players signed to contracts in 2021. We are over the cap by 1 mil as of right now, they have to cut some money just to sign anyone. Graham-Massie-Skine-Leno for sure. The biggest cap savings is Hicks at 10.5 mil with only 1.5 in dead money. That is very possible. Cutting the lame WRs probably wont happen with not resigning AROB.( no room for a 17mil WR in budget) The FAs that should be back because you can get most on cheaper deals. McCullers-Mingo-Santos-Edwards-Bush-Scales-Jenkins-Urban-Gibson-Bars-Woods-Holtz-Vaughters. Chances of trading bigger contracts for anything valuable is slim. Jackson played poor, Mack is not living up to his contract, Quinn-bad signing, Fuller maybe you can get something. The problem with the cap being reduced by 20mil due to the Wuhan virus, very few teams in good cap space and they all will be cutting players that will flood the market.

Actually they are paying Trevathan less money than Kwit gets 15 mil over his first 3 years, the last year a cut year. Kwit got 21 mil for 3 years. The last year he could be cut for nothing. I hope he gets fired because all of our problems are because his missed draft picks gave us big contract FAs to make up for it. Kevin White got us AROB. Floyd got us Quinn. MT got us Foles. He just spent bad money to put us in cap hell. It is real easy, Glennon-MT-Foles-Bray-Chase Daniels. these are his QB choices. enough said, he cant make another QB choice.

Seen this on the internet: QB room 1 MT, Foles, and a high draft pick 2 Foles a high pick and low pick 3 FA, Foles and high draft pick. 4 MT, FA and draft pick 5 High draft pick, FA, low draft pick My interjection Sign Jamis Winston, Foles, draft pick Winston has a pick problem but is a scoring machine., Better than what we have. Keep in mind it cost Foles 10.5 in dead money to go away so he is here no matter what (my opinion)

Kmet tossed the ball to the ref right behind the DB and they assumed his was throwing it at the DB. You really think a strong man like that what pussy toss the ball at a player he was angry with. He doesnt seem the type.

Ideally your right but the new GM should get to evaluate Nagy and let him make his decision. Maybe he thinks he is the best choice, no HCs that blow you away is out there. Just change to change is not always the best way. -
They wont be able to resign AROB even thou they will want to . To many holes to fill no cap money to pay 15-17 mil to WR. Wims and Miller need to be gone but with AROB leaving they will overlook their lameness and keep them. Ridley will get the chance to play regularly , who knows if it works out. We have one legit WR in Mooney but as you said a #2. I think the possibility that our first pick may be a WR with them knowing AROB is gone. I am no way wanting this to happen just think it might. So #1 WR #2 QB #3 OT If one of the top 5 QBs are there , they would need to take him in the first round. LT needs to be the first round pick but I doubt they do that now.

I wish all new, but my common sense tells me maybe Pace but the rest is back. This is a mediocre team for 2 years now. I attribute blame to lots of people but Pace is the key to not putting the right talent on the team. He spent the money just did a bad job of who he got. His 2019 draft with limited picks got us Monty(very good player), Duke Shelly (probably NB next year) and Ridley who will get a chance to play more next year with Miller-Robinson-Wims gone. 2020 draft has given up Kmet, Johnson, Mooney, Vidor, and the rest making the team. Very good draft. He is awful with 1st picks but does very well with middle and late round picks. He legacy is MT and deserves to be gone just for that. I think Kmet, Monty, Johnson, Mooney are all blue chip type players and will get better moving forward. You live and die with the QB, we spent big money on D players and it has been disappointing. With the cap being 2 mil in the hole with only 35 players signed, its Mt Everest for us going forward. -
The problem is no matter how motivated he is , he is who he is. Scheme him to be successful and hope he doesnt make any mistakes. He is making 10 mil this year so I dont think he is coming back on a 2 year 16 deal. Which would work for me. The key is to draft a QB or recycle a released Matt Darnold type. How about Jamis Winston? He is on a one year contract.
-
Its easy to just get rid of everyone. How has that been working since Lovey? Not very well. I would go with the combo of bringing in a new president to oversee Pace and Nagy. Take Ted Phillips job but with a football guy. Have him oversee the QB situation and try to fix the cap problems. A different voice in the room and see what results we get for one more year of N and P. My opinion are more geared to what I see as realistic options instead of my opinions.
-
It all comes down to cost. You have to trade for all of them except MT. Over and above with blotted salary, first round pick for any of those? No. Preferred to bring back MT and draft in first or second and hope for the best.
-
If we can not sign AROB I think they will look for a WR in the first round to replace him. That moves the OT draftee to the second round. QB to the third round, which is risky to get a high level guy at either position. I dont want Pace being in charge of drafting a new QB. I think we are just in such a bad place( covid effects) and ( cap restrains ) , we have another year of 8-8 coming next year. If Phillips (ass. GM) signs as a GM somewhere, we get 2 comp. 3rd picks for the next two years. If AROB signs some where else, we get a comp 3rd for him. So we could have 2 extra 3rd round picks. Pace does a good job of identifying talent at the lower rounds, so maybe that works out for us. I think next year will be MT-Foles- draft pick at QB. The defense a year older with some studs being let go. 8-8 might be to much to wish for.

I prefer someone that isnt this hotshot OC or DC and has been a head coach before. Fitz falls in that category. He has a history, success from an institute that has high standards that 70% of the recruits cant match. I dont know if he would be good or bad, but do you want another Offensive mind(Nagy) from a successful bloodline? I totally have no idea who, just know dismissing someone is not a good idea in looking for the right person. My problem is the same people keep picking the new people and we end up with the same results 5 yrs later. It is an ownership thing that will never change until the team is sold.
-
As bad as it sounds, I would hope Denver lets go of Fangio and someway he gets back here. Pagano makes to many bad decisions.
-
I am with you, I think both should be gone, but it is like betting on a game, do you go with the logic,, or your heart when you make the bet. Reality says they aint leaving. I think if Pace gave Nagy the players he needs to make his system work, we may have a different view of his accomplishments. I think Pace gone and Nagy having one more year would be acceptable to me. I hate to say this but if they dont draft a LT in the first round, Leno may be here one more year. I would prefer Bars to shift to LT at worst. At least he would have some upside. Leno looks bad most games and just does enough good plays to make the team question about getting rid of him. PPF had him with the highest grade for LTs during the 3 game winning steak. I dont think PPF has much merit when you see that crap. The eyes dont lie. When I make a comment it is not always what I want but a prediction of what I think might happen.

The only way we win today is if our high paid players on D plays up to their contracts. Quinn, Jackson, and Mack. If MT plays an errorless game and we get some lucky breaks. I would say with David Bahktaria out is our first break. We will never win a shoot out with Rodgers at QB so the D needs to show up.
-
Next year the cap gets lowered by 20 mil that puts us in the hole 2 mil. Only a handful of teams will have the money to accept high paid players added to their roster. I doubt anyone offers MT a starting job. Look at Jamis Winston for an example. If we win and make the playoffs and play a competitive game in the playoffs is the best we can hope for. The few spot difference winning will not matter as far as getting a QB in the draft. The Bears have owners that do not have other outside sources of income, just the team. It will affect their decision. They will look at all the pluses and minuses that Pace has had. The last 3 years with a coach (he choose) they will be 28-22 at the worst. Not a losing season for 3 years. In the realm of the NFL, its very average but in our history, it carries a little weight. If they have to pay a new GM money plus what Pace has on the books , that would be a bad financial decision. Constantly rotating new regimes every 5 years hasnt looked like that is working. They will choose to stay stable for one more year and give Pace one more chance to add a better situation at QB. They will blame the pandemic for a screwed up year. Foles has demonstrated he is just a backup, he is not an answer. MT may not be either but it will be all we may have. Taking a 3rd round graded QB with our first pick will not make us better unless they get very lucky. It cost 10.5 to get rid of Foles if you choose to bring MT back and add a high pick average QB. We are in QB hell. We are stuck in limbo for one more year. If Nagy plays to MTs strengths we can have a winning season next season but may not have a future QB again. Sometime things just never change.
-
LIke you said, sad but actually will be good for us.Just the part of football you can not control, injuries affect us week to week, now its their turn to take a hit. I dont think he has played a full slate of games this year, so they have someone capable behind him.
-
Not a lot of options out there in FAgency or picking around 20 in the draft so bringing him back may be the best option. I personally hope they have someone in the draft available to us that could be a starter by the end of 2021 and move on to something different. MT isnt taking anyone to the SB, someone else may have that chance.
-
I think Jones and Trask could be there at around 20. Dont know if they are worth that high a pick or not but will be in demand because so many teams need a QB. I have read some good things about J. T. Daniels and Jamie Newman( not my opinion) so maybe there is a few that could be a 2nd round pick for us. There is potentially 10 teams that could take a QB in front of us so all of this maybe a wasted talking point.
-
I hope they find a way but think it will be hard to sign AROB . Starting out with 2 mil in the hole and only 35 players under contract, its going to hard to sign a 18-20 mil WR. I can see them do something stupid and draft a first round WR and let AROB leave. The 2 easy cuts are Hicks and Graham that saves us 18.5 mil. in cap space and I wouldnt like to see Hicks go. Foles cost us 12.5 to let him go so he will be our backup QB. We would have to sign MT or another vet. OR draft a first round pick at QB. We have lots of issues to over come to get close to trying to sign AROB
-
Fuller is playing well enough to be wanted by someone but doubt your getting anything better than a third for him with his salary. The problem is every team has to deal with the loss of cap space and only a few that can weather it very well, so just a few times would be capable of trading for him. Colts and NE are two with the highest cap space , so maybe the Colts but NE gets rid of expensive players , not trade for them. The rest are bad teams that are not in the position to be ready to do that kind of move.
-
I dont think with everyone having a difference of opinions that anyone will agree on hitting a homerun. Definitely draft 2 OTs in the first 3 rounds as the draft falls that way also. I have read some good things about Jamie Newman as being a better prospect than Trask and we could get him in the 3rd round leaving us getting better OT prospect in the second instead of third.
