  1. Your right DB, there is so much mediocrity amongst average teams. From one year to the next we see teams go from 5-11 to 9-7 and back. There are only a handful that are almost guaranteed to be there year in and year out. The one thing that will be interesting to see is NE's "year after losing the Super Bowl" season. Everytime a team loses the big game, they bring up how bad they do the next year. So lets see if that theory holds true with them.
  2. This is just a bad PR move by Urlacher. He is not only tarnishing his own legacy, but also making the Bears front office look like they don't take care of their own. If this goes on for awhile, people are going to start bringing up the selfish player stereotype. Singletary, Butkus, did they ask for new contracts with 4 years left on their current ones? Even if they were playing today, they would never do that. That is just what type of people they were. Obvioulsy Brian doesn't belong with them. As a player maybe, but thats about it.
  3. TD passes- Grossman (22) TD runs- Benson (7) TD receptions- Booker (6) Rush yards- Benson (920) Receiving yards- Booker (850) Pass yards- Grossman (3050) Tackles- Briggs (135) Interceptions- Tillman (6) Forced Fumbles- Brown (5) Sacks- OGun (12)
  4. Bill Williamson? An expert ranking the Bears 29th? They finished 7-9 with all those injuries and easily could've won 3-4 of those losses with a decimated defense. Some "experts" ad the Raiders ranked higher than the Bears, hilarious.

    Greg Olsen

Shockey comparable to Olsen their rookie years? No way. Shockey had 74 receptions for 894 yards while Olsen only had 39 for 391. The only thing they had in common was 2 TDs each. Either way, Olsen was solid as a #2 TE. If he moves into the #1 role, he will easily get 50+ receptions and 600+ yards, which would be some of the best production out of the TE position in a long time.
  6. I call BS about the anchor thing. Someone fabricated that. Check out the following quote: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...enson06.article Why would Snyder, the LCRA officer, STOP the boat if it was anchored? So clearly Benson was operating the boat, they were partying, the official stops the boat, Benson is friendly and cooperates, they do safety inspection and probably notice all they alcohol on board, Benson then gets annoyed when they want him to do multiple field sobriety tests, they ask him to board their boat, he gets more pissed off, then gets pepper-sprayed and dragged all over the place for not cooperating. I am sure they didn't need to do all that, but it is fairly easy for them to justify the force used if they felt threatened (it is subjective). At least he didn't get tasered near water.
  7. Urlacher also just had surgery on his neck. They said it was a minor procedure, but any surgery on your neck is major, especially when you play MLB for a living.
  8. So if we don't sign him, who do we sign who can consistently kick 50+ yarders? I think you underestimate how good Gould has been, especially at Soldier Field (28/30 FGs). I would rather have a guy who makes 85% of his kicks inside 50 compared to a guy that makes 75% of his kicks inside 50 but can also occasionally hit a long ball.
  9. The only issue I have is that more and more NFL players are doing this. This is not just an Urlacher thing. They are basically playing for their huge signing bonuses, then 2-3 years later, wanting another one. That must be nice. There have been numerous franchise players that have even taken pay cuts to make their team better. This seems like a selfish move. I could see if he had 2 years remaining, or even 3, but not 4 years. All he did was sign the long deal to get a bunch of up front money, and now wants another payday thru a signing bonus. To make matters worse, he is doing this after what is widely considered a down year for him.
  10. Locking up any player in his prime for that long is always good. It's nice to have another position with some longevity.
  11. The one area that he excels in is kicking at Soldier Field, which in December and January is pretty hard to do. That alone bumps him up a notch. A ton of the other Top 10 kickers are kicking in a dome or in nice weather. I would say he is definitely a top 5 kicker when you take that into consideration.
  12. I don't see room for Robinson and I don't think he would be an upgrade over what we already have.
  13. Interesting comments from Bledsoe: While others like McGinest say they never saw a tape or things to that nature, Bledsoe seems to admit that they indeed used the tapes. He seems to rationalize their actions by saying everyone in the league is doing it. Also, from previous reports, the tapes were for the defensive signals, so McGinest wouldn't have a need for those. Makes sense. http://news.bostonherald.com/sports/footba...position=recent
  14. So you don't think that knowing what the defense is going to do gives you an advantage? Yes, you still have to execute the play, but the NFL is so competitive, that the slightest edge can make a huge difference. If everyone was doing this, then more than likely more teams would've gotten caught. This is not just about NE, but it definitely gets more press because their success is now called into question. It is just like steroids. Barry Bonds takes steroids = big deal, some 4th outfielder for the Padres does = ehh whatever.
  15. 3 are from Soxtalk and have never posted while a few others barely post. Then you have some from the original TalkBears and others from the original Bearstalk. So the merger bumped the numbers up a little.
  16. Connorbear, We have Badword Filters, so we can easily filter "cuss" words if thats what the board members want. For example, I just added one for the "f" word that sounds like duck. If you type it in like I do below, it will chance to whatever word we want: flub So in this case the f word now becomes flub. Just an example of what we can do.
  17. The worst part is that picture can be Photoshopped pretty easily. I could picture something else in his hand.
  18. Now this info closes some loopholes in the story. The girl called her dad because her cell was about to die. Also, the other witness that was not on the boat gives even more credibility to Benson. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-09-...0,5396011.story
  19. I could see them hit really hard. If he only looks to the future, then probably a huge fine and loss of draft picks. If he looks to the past, then possible loss of SB title.
  20. "Odd group" is having a group of hot chicks with your friends and your mom drinking on a boat.

    Rookies

Sounds about right. I think Williams, Davis, and Steltz will do better than expected.
  22. Team Picks Pool KC 12 $8,221,790 ATL 11 $7,918,670 MIA 9 $6,538,400 STL 8 $5,997,510 CHI 12 $5,791,190 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?i...ce=NFLHeadlines
  23. Can you spot the alcoholic beverages? Kind of an odd group.
