Dak is locked up. Houston is not taking offers for Desean. Russell gives his team a 39 mil cap hit if he's traded. My assumption is they are out of the equation for us. That leads me to this question: who is a better solution than Trubisky? Take into consideration style of play and system compatibility, along with supporting cast.

I wanted to solicit some opinions about the David Haugh article that appears in the Chicago Tribune today; I'd post a link but I am too technically deficient to do so. He writes as if he is Ted Phillips offering an open letter to the fans. His premise is that Ted and the McCaskey family is as angry as the fans, but blames the team's problems on the talent rather than coaching. As Ted Phillips he believes Jerry Angelo and Lovie Smith deserve one more chance to right the ship. He cites fiscal responsibility as a reason for this decision. Personally, as far as the Bears and the McCaskey's are concerned, the cost of blowing up this management team is less than the future…

Bears start out as 6.5 underdogs. For a 5-1 playing a 4-2 team, you would think the spread would be closer to 3. This still shows that oddsmakers do not respect the Bears. I love it. The Rams just lost to the 49ers with Kittle and Samuel having success against the Rams defense. The vaunted Rams defense did not get a sack or turnover. We need a big day from our TE's (STOP THROWING TO HARRIS). Goff only completed 50% of his passes, had 1 INT and only 5.2 yds per attempt. He didn't get sacked, but they had pressure on him all game.

Free agency begins March 8th, a little more than 2 weeks away. We need $$$ space. Looking at the numbers on this site: http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/chicago-bears/ Aside from reworking Cutler deal, I see the following options: Cut Peppers: dead cap space $8.3mil, Frees up $9.8mil I've said I'm in favor of this and not changing now. Cut Michael Bush: dead cap space $2mil, Frees up $1.85 mil More than enough to sign a replacement capable of getting 3.1 yd/carry and leave at least $800k for other players. Cut Podlesh: dead cap space: $800k, Frees up $1.8mil Find a Punter for closer to minimum salary and we should have ~$500k in change. …

I know this is unlikely, but I'm thinking more and more I hate the #8 spot. I think Nelson and Chubb will be gone, and I don't like anyon else at #8 a lot. So my dream is a trade down with Buffalo. They obviously need QB, and a ton of articles online think they are poised to make a move. They moved up for a reason, and it wasn't to sit still at #12 and hope. Trade #1 BUFFALO 1.12 = 1200 3.65 = 265 CHICAGO 1.8 = 1400 From there I want the Bears to drop down into the late teens or early 20s. That would net them another early 3rd, or a late 2nd for the fee of moving up. So let's say for fun they trade down to 23, because NE is so unpredictable…

With the night that Aroshomadou had tonight and how much Cutler likes him, is it safe to say that going forward he has a good chance at being our #1 reciever? If that is the case then will our WR core going into next season be: #1=DA #2=Bennett #3=Knox #4=Hester Right away I know Hester led the team in receptions but most of those were bubble screens and quick hits designed to get him running in space. Hester is not Steve Smith. I want him to be but after watching how good Knox/Bennett/Manning did on special teams this year, which is what caused this team to try and transition him, I feel that we should move him to spot duty on WR and g…

This is the elephant in the room. The Bears have to get serious on this issue and find a solution this spring. Word on the street is this QB class is not appealing since the choices are not blue chip products. The current blue chip list contains Myles Garrett, Jonathon Allen, Jamal Adams, and Malik Hooker. The Bears hold the 3rd pick and have a token to take a potential probowl player. Quarterback is the most important position in the league and desperation will drive these prospects higher than there graded value. As a young GM, Pace will have to make a very difficult decision and it will be held against him the rest of his career, good or bad. He will either reach for…

Looks like we migh have ourselves a gem in the making. He doesn't wilt in run defense which is a huge attribute. Check out Thayer's analysis of he and fellow rookie Langford's impressive play. Thayers playbook And I just read that Detroit's RB Zach Zenner was lost to IR after breaking four ribs and a collapsed lung. Because of a collision with Amos. http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2015/..._partially.html

Who do you believe is the Bears all-time worst draft pick? My choice - Bob Sapp. He was selected in the 3rd round of the 1997 draft (69th overall). He didn't even make it out of training camp before he was cut. Give me some names!!! Peace

With Von Miller likely getting the franchise tag (and they have to deal with Osweiller or finding another QB), Broncos have some other critical free agents. That includes Brandon Marshall, but they have two quality, young, DE's who will also be hitting the market. Fox has familiarity with both and the Broncos are likely going to have trouble getting it all to work under the cap. Malik Jackson, DE, Denver Broncos: He turns 26 in January and is another 3-4 defensive end who is adept at putting heat on quarterbacks while capably handling the run. He is getting better and is playing some of the best football of his career the past three games. Derek Wolfe, DE, Den…

Thougt it would be fun to start a Bears Big Board and how it will come together by April. This is not particularly the order the Bears would take a player, but the order they see the players ranked. How would you rank the players? 1 Andre Smith OT Alabama 2 Matt Stafford QB Georgia 3 Eugene Monroe OT Vir 4 Michael Crabtree WR Texas Tech 5 Brian Orakpo DE Texas 6 Michael Oher OT Ole Mis 7 Malcom Jenkins CB Ohio St. 8 James Laurinitis LB Ohio St. 9 Michael Johnson DE Georgia Tech 10 Rey Maualuga LB USC 11 Sam Brafford QB Oklahoma 12 Taylor Mays S USC 13 Aaron Curry LB Wake Forrest 14 Vontae Davis CB Illinois 15 Kn…

I know Ill get hell for this, But i absolutely am in love with Dez Bryant. I think we should get OL in Free Agency considering we cant draft one to save our friggin lives, plus, its so bad we need vets who can play right away. Im guessing we wont go after any decent WR knowing our past, like Brandon Marshall, if hes unrestricted and we dont pick him up I may be offically a chargers fan..... I woueam ld choose marshall over bryant for obvious reasons of course, but this team will never dominate offensively without a gamebreaker at WR Anyways. just curious as to some scenarios????

I read this on cnnsi and thought it interesting: I'm wondering why, on goal-line plays, coaches don't occasionally defend big receivers like Johnson with a big receiver from their own team? Doesn't somebody like Dez Bryant have a better chance of beating Johnson on a "jump ball" pass?'' Roy Williams cant do jack on O....maybe they could use him on D. Because the Lions will have goal line attempts Monday night for sure.

So the Bennett brothers rip Cutler and Marshall says he thinks Jay could win the MVP? What a crazy day. I can tell you I lost all respect for the Bennett's after this interview. I hope they both tear ACL's. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/1720163...ett-vs-everyone http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chica...0803-story.html

He turns 31 in March, but he's a damn good Left guard. He's no spring-chicken, but he could be an upgrade to Ruben Brown who turns 36 on Wednesday. IMO, we'll sign a guard and draft a tackle early to develop for next year. Angelo likes and trusts older offensive lineman. The team seems to be happy with Fred Miller at RT. Wahle, depending on how much he'll cost, would be a good fit for this team. He'll be one helluva a lot cheaper then Faneca.
