  1. if you look closely you can see John Madden kissing his butt. I kind of get the choice but at the same time I don't get it. It's always been a current player but I guess it makes sense that Madden would choose Favre for the cover. What's he going to talk about now that his true love has left the game?

That's right Bears fans, Fatstradomous is ready to kick some information on you thats guaranteed to be heavy...Its time once again to look into my crystal Let's what we got... FFW to January 8, 2024 JF1 plays well enuff to knock the Bears out of the Quarterback draft slots in the 1st Round. Bears finish with a 7-10 record which gives them the 7th overall pick. Carolina finishes with enuff wins to give the Bears their #4 overall pick. Still, (2) picks in the Top 10 of the 2024 NFL but not high enough to select Caleb W…

So I keep looking at everything I can regarding draft options at #10 and I’m having a hard time. Let me know where I’m wrong: -At Edge, you have guys with horrible sack production like Mykal Williams (who just ran a 4.8 40 at his pro day - no thanks) and Shemar Sanders (4.5 sacks total in 3 years), then guys with decent production who seem too light for 4-3 end like Mike Green and Jalon Walker (who’s probably a LB anyway). DT - Mason Graham maybe if he’s there but he probably won’t be and I don’t think Grant/Harmon/Nolen are worth the pick at #10. RB - Jeanty is maybe a consideration but I just have a hard time seeing it when the Bears have two 2nd rou…

I know there are some huge Lovie haters here and, I myself, go nuts at some of his in-game management decisions. With that said, this team isn't big on talent anywhere but ST's and the last time I looked they were 11-4 and might secure a bye for the first round of the playoffs this weekend when and if they SWEEP the NFC North. This is something no team has done in a long, long time... I wouldn't have thought of this but for the fact that someone mentioned Lovie on Mike and Mike yesterday as a strong contender for COTY honors. When you think about the coaching staff he's put together around him, the way he's managed all of those egos, the way he's brought Martz aro…

The past TC showed us that Cutler had a preference for Brandon Rideau and Devin Aromashodu and during the first game Rideau was on his couch and DA was inactive I guess with Davis getting some playing time. Why would they decide to play Davis over DA?

Last season Matt "Cocaine" Jones caught for 761 yards in 12 games. That's pretty damn good. The guy is 6'6, damn good speed, and he's a former #1 pick. Hell, wouldn't he instantly be the best WR on the roster? He was dumped after being arrested for cocaine & later drank beer at a golf course. As far as I know he's never been an ass-bag in the locker room (thanks Cedric). He's had relatively minor problems, and I'm sure Lovie has already forgiven him. Not to mention he's only 25. Most importantly, signing him would give us true flexibility on draft day. We'd have legitimate starters at every position and could truly operate with the intent …

Harbaugh Whines Jim Harbaugh is whining over the lack of highlights of his 49ers win. Dude, welcome to the club, stomped Atlanta and barely a mention of it on NFL.com Instead you see things like the 1 game HOF career of Cam Newton, etc. When your not one of the media darlings you get next to no coverage or love. Jim, you played in Chicago you should know that lol.

With Dallas losing Sean Lee for the season I'm wondering if anyone would consider trading Briggs to Dallas? There are no rumors so this is purely my fantasy league. We are dealing with Jerry Jones who is known for his desperation moves and Briggs is a natural fit into Dallas' defense. Right now there is no way I'd do it solely because I think we can compete at a high level in the playoffs and there is too much risk in all the young players. However, if SMC and Bostic are looking good (I'll assume DJ Williams is "good") and the coaches think guys like Greene and Christian Jones will be decent backups then I'm open to it. We can't know that now, or rather the coa…

Three things that really stood out to me: 1. Paraphrasing, Jay basically said- "Brian never apologized to me" and he said it with a sarcastic chuckle. Does anyone think that this could have long term bad effects on this team? I know we're already heading in a downward spiral, but when your 2 faces of the franchise seem to not like one another, that just gets the spiral going even faster. While I agree that the 2 will never be on the field at the same time during the game, I just hate to see this especially when everything else is going wrong. 2. He also mentioned that it takes long for an offense to gel. He said it took 3+ years in Denver. Jay, I hate to be a d*…

Looks like the offense we ran with Shane Matthews at QB. Only with more turnovers. Not going to get too down on them after PS Game 1 but this team, on offense, wasn't ready to play tonight. Come on Nerdman, impress me!

Was just reading that Burress is due to be released in June. The article asks "how well will he perform after being away from the game after two years?". I think I might have an idea; ask Michael Vick or Mike Williams of Seattle. The article also highlighted that he has lost some weight. New York has no interest in him moneywise i believe. Could be that big receiver for relatively no cost and no strings the Bears are needing. Still leaves room for a few OLmen.

http://bearingthenews.com/?p=1131 Daring the NFL to Disappear Here’s a heaping load of truth brought to you courtesy of Dan McNeil, writing for the Chicago Tribune: “You don’t need the NFL. You only think you do.” “I’m daring the NFL to disappear.” So am I. I’m old enough to have been around for the last NFL labor stoppage. You know what happened? I found other things to do on Sunday afternoon. So did millions of others. And that’s what will happen if NFL games are lost due to a lockout. As much as I enjoy the NFL, I’m not too worried about missing it. In fact, I’m very ambivalent and I find myself growing more so every day as I con…

  16. Per the rumor mill at ESPN.com John Clayton is reporting that the Bears amongst other teams may have interest in Julius Jones. Jones, widely considered the top running back left on the free-agent market, has visited Detroit, Tennessee and Seattle. He's also considering trips to CHICAGO and Philadelphia, according to Clayton. With starting running back Kevin Jones coming off knee surgery, the Lions are looking for insurance at the position. The Seahawks might be looking to phase out Shaun Alexander and feature a running back duo of Jones and T.J. Duckett, who was signed recently. In four seasons with Dallas, Jones rushed for 3,484 yards on 885 carries.

  17. I am not saying we will, as Angelo has not shown an inclination to move up in drafts, but I wonder if there is an argument for a move up in a couple different situations. Situation one Clady has really risen since he was first mentioned on this board. At one time, there was belief he could be there for us. Now, it is a virtual lock he will not. This situation hinges on Long to a large degree. If Stl takes Long, I think it Clady doesn't make it out of the top 10. If Stl takes DL though, as many mocks have them doing, Long could slip a bit more. Oak is the next team, but Oakland could be looking at McFadden (despite the Fargas deal). I doubt Long slips past…

Watching the NFL Network and they did their own little sweet sixteen of this upcoming year's NFL teams. We weren't even mentioned. They had GB as a 11 seed, and mentioned minny as a snub. Wow I know we're not having a great offseason, but we ARE only 2 years removed from the superbowl! Minny???? cmon they have a worse qb situation than us. At least both of our qb's have shown a little something in this league. I hope that our defense stays healthy and we Bi### slap the entire league all the way to the big dance. With our d and s.t. we don't need much other than off in this draft. I bet we go all off. maybe williams or clady or otah in the first. trade up with ou…

  20. He's done great things for Joe Flacco and the Ravens offense has gotten better. Below is some stuff I dug up on Jackson. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hue_Jackson - Has been an offensive coordinator in the NFL (2007 with the Falcons and 2003 with Redskins) - Prior to getting that position, he was the Bengals highly regarded Wide-Receiving Coach (who helped developed Ocho Cinco, Henry, and Houshyourmama). - Before the Bengals, he worked as an Oline coach and OC with the Redskins Seems like a pretty solid hire. My only concern would be how he kept OC positions for such a short period of time, but you could also argue that he never really got a shot. …
